Might take you that long actually. I clocked over 140 hours on my first playthrough, and that was on a low difficulty level, not 100% complete and without any of the expansions.

I tried doing the same, got into the swamp on the first game. I'm never touching that game again.
I'll try to play and finish the Witcher 2 before trying up the 3, though.

I tried playing the first one and could not reallt stomach it. Totally skipped second one an went straight to the third one. I just had to do my homework on some reappearing characers an I was good.
And then I actually read the books and holy hell, so many small details made much more sense. And I really mean some small things, likewhy is Ciri wearing cat school's witcher medallion, but they made the game so much more tasty. Plus there are some minor events from the books taking place in the game's world. Nothing major for the story but once you read the books and see some stuff happening all over again in the game it just makes you grin like an idiot.

I wonder what can be said about duality in Katawa Shoujo. It's not subtle in how each of the girls are introduced to the players in pairs and how they complement each other in various ways.
Emi and Rin are the most blatant in how they are presented as complementary disability wise yet complete opposites. The athletic sociable free spirit and the introverted artistic space cadet. Even their romances are tonal opposites: Emi’s route places herself and Hisao in a fairly straightforward boyfriend/girlfriend dynamic in which both of them are unambiguously improved by their relationship to the other, but Rin’s route is an emotionally complicated story of two people who are both attracted to and repelled by one another, and their relationship causes each of them joy and suffering in equal amounts. Yet, they are united by a clear theme: not being defined by their disability. Emi runs and Rin paints despite not having the necessary limbs, but their reasons run deeper than simply spiting their disability.
While not as obvious, Lilly and Hanako also fit the theme of inter-connectivity just as well. Hanako, someone anxious about her physical appearance, finds a friend in someone who can't see her scars. Lilly, a natural leader and socialite, doesn't mind speaking on Hanako's behalf. Unlike Emi and Rin however, the similarities between them only serve to contrast their characters. Lilly enjoys reading because she was raised like an aristocrat and practices her English, yet Hanako prefers books to human contact. Their rooms are sparsely decorated, yet Lilly's is "utilitarian" because she is blind and Hanako's "bleak" room reflects her melancholic nature.
Unlike the other duos thus far, Shizune and Misha are defined by their one-sided relationship. It's apparent that Shizune needs Misha far more than she needs her, and it is a major point of Shizune's route that she's drifting away. They still complement each other personality-wise and even in terms of hair.

Even Hisao himself has a counterpart in Kenji .Early on, Hisao is very pensive about his own disability and the disabilities of others despite being in an environment where it shouldn't matter, even several character outright telling him it shouldn't be a big deal. He is unnecessarily paranoid and he frequently notes that his condition is "invisible", Kenji is excessively paranoid and is legally blind. Hisao becomes more trusting and open as a result of his romantic relationships, yet Kenji only retreats into his misogynist conspiracies as the game progresses. Failing to befriend any of the girls only proves Hisao to be as blind and embittered as Kenji is, proven by him agreeing with Kenji's rants during the manly picnic. The death may have been black comedy but it was symbolic: Hisao ignoring his heart lead to his death, albeit indirectly.
Even relatively minor characters have their opposites and complements. Akira and Hideaki couldn't be more different but are both ambiguously gendered relatives. Mutou and Nomiya are both teachers but they have radically different intentions for their students. Jigoro and Lilly's dad are antagonists in their daughters relationship yet one is unseen and the other has an overbearing presence.

Because honestly he was very two-dimensional and I grew bored of his schtick fast

The Koujii ending is great and I love it since it's a traditional Lovecraftian ending, but with the White Room, the sequence of events end before too many people get hurt and Saya realizes what she was doing to Fumii and that he needed to stay away from her to retain his humanity.

I meant something along the lines of "loud sharp noises". Playing an acoustic guitar with a pick is not quiet by any means, and sometimes if you hit a wrong string or press it down incorrectly it's really unpleasant.

But I mostly fingerpick, so with the exception of sliding, I don't make too many of those noises. At least, I don't think so. And acoustic tends to have beautiful overtones and warm vibrations. I think she'd find it mostly enjoyable. Maybe it depends on who's playing.

That's why I picked acoustic over electric, I really like the sound of an acoustic guitar. Sure you can's do epic shreds or solos but who cares.
