How do I avoid getting pissed as fuck?
Every game is a stomp. I'm level 29 and I thought things would improve, but it was more fun at lower levels to be honest. Either we get stomped or we stomp. There's no in between. People still pick Bastion and multiple Torbjorn or similar shit and the team Pharah or sniper can't take them out
It's just frustrating as fuck and I'm forced to leave games at the beginning or pick Reinhardt/Mercy/Lucio all the time because others refuse to do so, or switch mid game.

How do I find fun again? How do I get good enough to carry games?

How the fuck do I play Torbjorn? Every time I decide to pick him everybody on the enemy team fucks my turret up solo even if I'm there to protect it or not and then I'm stuck in turret limbo where I'm trying to get another level 2 back up but keep getting ambushed. What heroes should I pick Torbjorn with? Should I be a TF2 engineer and babysit the turret or should I wander? I feel like I'm never playing him right.

Legit buffs to Pharah

She has a massive hit box and her effective HP should be relative to the hitbox. Pharah gets raped by hitscan weapons because all anyone needs to do is aim in her general direction to hit her. Her slow movement speed in the air make the hitbox problem worse, because you can't go into the air without getting raped.

Rockets feel way to slow.

There is no point in firing the conc rocket in combat. I often just forget about it if I'm not near a ledge or trying boost my speed in the air. It would be nice if it had some combat application. I think a brief stun if you smack a target into a wall would increase her skill cap.

Every account has a hidden stat called MMR, or Matchmaking Rating. When you win a game, your MMR goes up, and when you lose a game, your MMR goes down. This is proportional to the skill of the enemies you are playing against, and the skill of your teammates. When the matchmaker puts you in a game, it attempts to find matches where both sides have a 50% chance of winning. This naturally leads to players gravitating towards 50% winrates. It does this using your MMR.

The fact that you have a 50% win rate does NOT correlate to your skill level. Neither does your account level. A player can be level 40 with a low MMR, or a level 15 with a high MMR. If you are a better player than your MMR would suggest, then you will get placed into games with a higher than 50% chance of winning them. Likewise, if your skill level is lower than your MMR would suggest, then you will be placed into games that you have a less than 50% chance of winning. This will continue until your MMR reflects your true skill. If a player believes that their MMR is beneath their skill level, and that they consistently play with and against players that are less skilled than them, they simply have to play more games, and eventually their MMR will reflect their true skill.

Always remember that you are the only constant in between your games, and that you do have a significant impact in the outcome. Especially in an FPS, one player out of 6 makes a huge contribution. When one talks about unfair games and that they are consistently put into games that they have no chance of winning, only means that the Matchmaker thought that they were more skilled than they really are, and put them into a higher level game than they belong in. It is unreasonable to suggest that the matchmaker consistently places a player into games where their team is less skilled than themselves and the enemy team.


TL;DR, Forced 50 is real, but it is a good thing that allows games to more fair and of higher quality. Win rate=/= skill.

Attack is innately more difficult. So if you are winning you get put in more attack matches. There is an objective that must be accomplished and within a certain amount of time.

Attack requires more coordination. A single defender tracer and blink around 20 miles from the objective and keep half the team busy for the whole match. Enjoy your 5v3. And tracer needs no team coordination to do so.

Defenders respawn progressively closer/reinforce progressively faster.

Defenders always have the choke point advantage, and when one is broken through, the objective simply moves to a new choke point.

Literally Attack/Defense is forced 50.

Also people pretend MMR is a thing. We have no confirmation it even exists. If anything it would be easier to stack teams than to code a balanced skill assessment algorithm and match people up fairly. And in terms of personal experience, teams get stacked. Hard.
