Well, Jade Kite might have potential in an advanced Hellbringer build.

Left Arm with 2x UAC5s, Torsos with a large pulse laser each, head and right arm with a total of 3x er medium lasers. 6 tons ammo, targeting computer and 2 extra double heatsinks. It may end up a bit crispy, but it might also end up pretty efficient at pumping pintpoint damage up to 600 meters.

MWO is worth it because there literally is nothing better.

Not that it's great, but it'll scratch the itch. About the only thing I'd spend money on is Mechbays, and that simply because it allows you to dodge the horrible void of hatred and suffering that is Faction Warfare.

It's not P2W, if only because virtually all robots end up going in a straightforward process of real money -> MC (game currency, most commonly gotten for money but also for events and FW) -> Cbills (gotten via normal play). And the ones that can't be aren't going to dominate vs. Cbill-buyable robots.

Spend your Cbills carefully, though. Game gets more grindy after your academy + first 25 games with notably lower Cbill gain.

12SPL SCR, 6SPL Jenner, Viper etc are all great at what they do. Doesn't work too well for heavier robots though.

The C-UAC10 is amazing too of course for heavier robots, but the HBK-IIC, Night Gyr, Kodiak, and Dire Wolf are the only mechs that can/will truly use them well enough.

Is this okay for a mixed setup? 48 damage up to 376 meters, with 20 damage that I can add to shake the targets cockpit all over the place or help a teammate that's out of line of sight fighting something big. 68 damage total alpha if the target is dumb enough to stay still.

I've got Radar dep and MPL range modules, wondering what I should put on the mech/ weapon module one.

Against heavies and assaults, though, it does concentrate on the torso areas more by adding 20 damage for just 8 heat, and most importantly it throws their cockpit around.

You realize people can actually aim and hit moving targets even if they're small and running at full speed. I've done it often enough and I'm not even a great player. The only thing keeping most lights from being oneshot is their huge health quirks.

A fresh unquirked locust can survive a dual guass shot only in the front CT if it's lucky. If it lands anywhere else it will either leg it or destroy it outright.

Even if it does land on it's front CT it can still kill it by critical hit damage.

I don't understand why people complain about the Timber Wolf, when the Ebon Jaguar can pull off the same double large pulse quad er medium laser build and do it monumentally better to boot.

An ebon jaguar can stuff itself with an extra 15 double heatsinks and a mark 1 targeting computer, making it considerably more dangerous than the timber.

Indirect fire on a light that's moving sideways isn't so good for maximum hit % because face it, evasive action, but if you've got visual (and hence Artemis is working) LRM 10's actually make nice leg-clippers.

What do MWO veterans think of this BJ-3 setup? I got rid of two medium lasers and with that weight I added two double heat sinks. I also replaced the original 2 PPC's with 2 ER PPC's. Smurfy is showing a 3% increase in cooling efficiency. I am a noob at this so if this setup is inferior to the standard setup of a BJ-3, please let me know. Thank you very much.

Remove the MLs entirely and just run the PPCs

Should look at upgrading to a 235XL engine as well, get endo steel, slam it full of double heat sinks, and reduce to 3JJs
