Early on you have to zone the enemy so you and you partner(s) can have an earlier shot of damaging the wave. Attempting an early kill to kill their clear speeds helps

When your wave is down you can either attack the other lane, hunt shards on your or their side, call another ally in the other lane or the guy that lurks the mid area to come attack, build/kill buildables or go aggressive such as starting a fight near mid turrets and buying it up for extrafirepower. All this is based off your numbers and how fast you or they cleared.

You can do different numbers in each lane based on team comp.

Sounds about right it just tends to get chaotic quickly. Also the earlier post about killing the shepherd bot first will probably help me a lot. I did notice spawning larger bots actually creates a fair bit of pressure that, if not dealt with, also creates the biggest leads, which is a good way to deal with teams that tend to swarm to one side abruptly without keeping track of the other side.

I'm absolutely satisfied with what I spent on the game pre ordering and enjoyed what I got, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend sales or just wait to anyone looking to get it at this point. Could turn into something nice in the long run depending on what they do with it.

I suppose the storytelling is weak but the universe they've created is still pretty interesting when you look at some of the lore unlocks. Excited to see what they add to it.

What should I be doing with gear? Right now I'm raising his attack speed/damage and regen. Should I be shoring up anything instead?

Attikus is god at capture, wish more people played the mode. If you've got backup then entering with it is fine but if you're just harassing and not expecting a kill or you're outnumbered, I'd save it to exit. I'm still figuring out what I want to do with gear on everyone atm.

Attack Speed gear is great on Attikus.

If you can finish his lore, his legendary gear is also a good option due to the unique buff, though +skill damage gear isn't that great on him.

Early game Attikus is difficult to play. You are best served running for shards and minion pushing, and hitting unattended minion waves. If you decide to barge in to a contested area, do it alongside your own minion wave so you have an overshield (for Meltdown anyways).

You need to be ready to bail at the drop of a hat if you haven't hit Tenacity (level 3) yet, because you will lose absolutely every stand up fight except against the squishiest of characters. So Pounce should typically be kept off cooldown and will be your emergency escape.

Once you have Tenacity online, and preferably an Attack Speed gear, you can start playing more aggressively. You still aren't a front liner but you can reliably pick off non-melee fighters. And this is when Pounce transforms from your getaway to your initiator.

Find your target, use the terrain to obscure yourself and dance, and wait for them to make the mistake of standing too close to ANY obstacle (it's easiest if the obstacle is behind them relative to you). That's when you nail them with Pounce, because an enemy that collides with the environment when pushed back by Pounce will be stunned for about a second. Because you have Tenacity which gets up to 60% damage bonus with consecutive hits, you are set up for an almost guaranteed kill.

This gets even better at level 4 and 5. Take Quickening Arc and drop Hedronic Arc after nailing the Pounce stun. No escape from you then, especially if you have your lore gear active. I'm in the regeneration stacks camp for level 5, as I find it's easy to lead an engagement by targeting a squishy player, killing them quickly and getting 5 stacks back and using that regen to face off with the rest of the team or just ruin their day with Hedronic Eruption.

As someone whose almost exclusively playing rogue battleborn for focused loot gains and I love everyone in the faction, any tips on gear and helix choices for any of them? I basically have two purples I run on all of them that combined give shards/sec, cdr and sprint speed. Third gear item is dependant on character needs.

My Shayne build is basically melee speed, similar to pic related (another anon posted this). I'm not sure if I like her legendary gear, I couldn't tell if it did anything noticeable

I'll double check my Orendi build when I get home, I know I have her legendary gear, besides that I can't remember if it's movement speed or attack speed, but I like both with her.

Anyone have tips for Caldarius? Both for PvE and PvP? What gear and helix options should I go for?

For me its mostly this great comic here of 1 Reyna and 4 Raths was featured in Battleplan #3.

As for what could've started the idea, I suppose her attitude and personality fit the bill for a tough love mother figure, and considering how she went about organizing the rogue faction by pulling outcasts out of shitty situations it makes some sense.

If you're talking about PvE I don't think anyone is necessarily unusable. There might be characters better suited to some missions, but all of that only matters in advanced difficulty. At that point high dps at range with some support mixed in is probably best as enemies just fuck your shit up too fast if you're close to them.

In PvP it depends on the map, so I guess tune your question accordingly.

By the time you get to even the sub-bosses in most maps you'll have some levels under your belt, enough to make you not get shitstomped as a melee character. That's basically how it works in PvE and PvP. You'll probably suffer a bit until you have some levels, after that you should have enough damage/sustain/defense to go ham. As I previously stated you will never be a burden on your team at normal difficulty unless the group as a whole is doing REALLY poorly, and the only map that's ever punished me for that is The Sabotage.

Honestly the only boss/enemy that's even unpleasant for melees would be any Guardian-type enemy/boss and The Old Sentinenl (Mission: The Sentinel). I only put them as awful because it's already stupid as fuck to hit their only weak spot (Immune to damage unless you hit the center of their torso segment) as ranged Battleborn so it sucks that much more as melee.

And if you aren't aware you instantly reset all cds and restore all health/shields on level up and are instantly revived if you level up while downed. So you can go ham for the first few levels even and rely on the level ups to keep you alive.

I enjoy the game but using twitch as a metric in any capacity is beyond retarded. Look at the viewers for skyrim and then check how long it's been a top-played game on PC/steam alone. Or look at dota2 vs lol playerbase when there isn't a tournament going on. Half the viewers for dota compared to league, yet "according to Riot Games" less than a 1/10 of the players at any given moment. And who's gonna watch DOOM other than briefly check out how it looks and then go play it themselves? That series has been an adrenaline shot since 94, you don't watch, you play. Twitch is a horrible metric. Fucking Bob Ross pulls an average 5k viewers every Monday.

Stickies are great, don't forget your shotgun.
Shotgun's really versatile, learn how it's bounce works.
It's a great opener with Swiss Cheese and Shield Scrapper, the reveal fuck's up Mike's escape and is a pain for the few times you'll see S&A around.
Scrap Bank and knockback is really useful for getting tangos out of melee range and shoving people back into your napalm.
Your melee is great, but on the slow side.

Take Weighed Down if you're really good at landing stickies.
Napalm is a must.
I like Sticky MIRV. Triple sticky has a damage reduction on each and it takes a while to fire. MIRV has a sweet spot for landing all of them. Figure out the range it splits at, and shoot someone that fucking El Dragon at just a little farther from that and they should all land.
If it lands before the sticky splits, it'll spit after hitting. This isn't terribly useful, but you shouldn't be engaging at this distance. After it splits, it will always fan out to the left and right. This is good for clearing bot waves.

Duck-taped Mags can free up your Reload Speed slot. I personally use Recoil Down. Shield pen is decent, better depending on the enemy team. Use if they have a really active Reyna or Kleese. Four-shot burst is unreliable, only use if you have tons of recoil down.
ACOG lets you harass snipers and makes midfield crits reliable. Red dot lets you full move and shoot faster. They're both better than iron sights, which suck. Fine aim a lot, regardless.

Use your F judiciously. Use any time you need a big damage burst. Shepherd wave, make ISIC fuck off, whatever.
100 bullets is usually OK, don't take shield pen ult if you have the shield pen ability. If you take the shield pen ult, it SCARES people.

You're an assassin. Kill people.
You're ok at initiating, you have no escapes. Learn positioning. Coordinating helps a lot. Be wanderer position.

I believe it. I have to nuke the game down from 1080p to something closer to 1600x900 to even get a playable framerate, even with everything nuked in the .ini. The game is horribly optimized. The new DOOM runs at constant 40+ fps when resolution is dropped to 75% on my rig. Surprising to see this game get even worse performance.

Speaking of ini tweaks, I finally figured out a way to turn Bloom off in the game.

Don't set both to false or graphical glitches will happen. I'll trade a horrible glowy mess on the screen for an effect that blurs the background any time.
