No, you're confusing to different phenomenon. A shell can ricochet without penetrating, or it can penetrate part of the way and simply fail to penetrate completely because it doesn't go far enough, either due to lack of kinetic energy, effective thickness due to sloping, etc.

Well if a shell hits a highly sloped piece of armor there's a random chance it could ricochet instead of digging in and penetrating. This is in addition to the random spread it gets when firing out of a gun. You can argue til the cows come home what you think the random chance should be, but it's certainly a thing.

In WW2 it was normal for some shells to be able to penetrate 20% more armor than other shells during tests. Same shells, from same manufacturer, even same production batch. Effective penetration is always *average* of tested shells, which is why it's important to test many at once.

Probably because the thing is fucking awesome? Apart from M42 and slav AA truck (dunno abotu Falcon as I don't have it), it's the fastest SPAAG in the game and that allows you to flank pretty much everything. If it had those few mm more to get over 80mm pen, it would've been better, yeah, but even this way you can fuck up higher tier tanks without a problem if you get behind them and shot trap your rounds into the enemy's engine/crew compartment. It's hard to do that with Tigers, but with pretty much any slav it's possible and if there's a tank with weaker sides (i.e.: all Panthers, T-34, Pz.IVs, Leo, all USSR TDs and pretty much all UK tanks), you can eat them alive from flanks. You can literally drive circles around them and they won't be able to keep up. Apart from Coelain maybe (you can still pen it's turret frontally and sides) you can also kill pretty much all SPAAGs you meet with ease. It may not be as effective as German SPAAGs (lower rate of fire) at taking down planes, but it's certainly not bad.

If it had those few mm of pen more to take on 80mm armour, it would be better, but it's still good unless you're shit and attempt to kill everything from front like USSR and German SPAAGs do

I don't know what exactly you mean by "same gun" and all of that, but it's got more pen than 4.7BR Ostwind, same pen as Crusader AA Mk.I. ZSU-37 is the only one with more pen than it and that's at 4.7BR. Kugeblitz, ZSU-57-2 and Falcon are all higher BR than it and they all have better pen. The closest thing to M19 is Crusader AA Mk.I, as they both have the same pen and are both fast. And both are also same BR. Apart from that one, M19 will be faster and more manoeuvrable (ZSU-37 drives like shit, even when compared to other SPAAGs and I don't know about Falcon) than almost all of those, so if you are gonna use it in TD role, you'll be more effective. It's between TDs that are worst than it in every way (ZSU-37's pen being exception), the same BR as the closest vehicle resembling it and lower BR than shit with more pen. M42 may not deserve higher BR, but M19 is perfectly fine where it is and there's no proper reason to have it at 3.0BR like the guy implied

Slav AA truck was the best thing to get kills in a few weeks ago in the historical events, not only because Germans were spamming planes, but also because it was faster than everything and easily flanked Pz.IVs, Dicker Max, Panzerjager 1 etc. T-34s were limited, trucks weren't. You can ask in vg chat (if anyone is even in it) if you want, plenty of people were talking about how they were using that to get kills back then. Those guns might not be as good as higher tiers as others, but they still have 46mm of pen, which is plenty enough for early tanks (including frontal armour). And playing british tanks about two months ago, I saw plenty of people use them in random battles too, since they had zero problems killing british tanks from any angle they wanted. ZUT may be rare, but that doesn't mean it can't kill shit from front, which was the argument the guy made

The LVT is an amphibious personnel carrier they stuck a 37 mm cannon on to aid taking out machine gun nests during amphibious landings. It is only partially effective at stopping machine fire. The vehicle was built in 1938, as a civilian search and rescue vehicle, to aid people in the event of sinking ships, floods, etc. When it entered service they made minor modifications, like adding gun mounts, and strengthening the suspension.

my friends have about 0.8 K/d and bring home 180.000 xp per day of flight. I have a 3.8k/d and only make around 270.000 xp per day of flight. In most of my matches i'm first with 10 or more kills and I still get only 2000ish xp.

Currently researching a ki-200 with tier 4s only and the best i made was a 18-2 match with 2900 rp gain. Russians are worse. I can easily pull 20 kills and get barely 2200 rp researching the same tier

Does the game compensate for my K/d? I remember a newbie I know making 3000 off of 7 kills matches where I playing in the same team with him made only 2000ish with more than double his score

Uhhh, no. Maybe if you're in a big flat area and already moving, then yeah, but you're exceedingly more likely to be bombed while stationary or moving slowly because of terrain.

Also there's nothing inherently wrong with suicide bombing, and if it really is an issue for players then Gaijin could simply make it more punitive to do to disincentivise it.

If you don't like it then you really shouldn't be asking for it to be made impossible to do (especially using a bullshit pseudo-historical mechanic), but rather should ve asking for it to not be incentivised and for rewards or repair costs to be more expensive to discourage it.
