TIME TO DROP THE KNOWLEDGE COPYPASTA:

The problem with Zed is that he is rather unique in robbing you of agency in a game. No matter how shit the player playing Zed is you constantly have to play IN REPONSE to what the Zed player is doing. He never plays on a back foot. He can farm from under turret and get nearly every cs in all but maybe 2 matchups, and then roam with full cs. This usually is a segway into a double kill bot lane that you MUST respond to. And if you picked a matchup unfavorable to Zed then you go from not being able to punish him to having to play on the complete defensive once he nears six.

After this and for much more of the game until Zhonya's/GA/and formerly QSS comes out he becomes a splitpusher that requires 2 or more champions to shove out of a lane, and even then a kill is unlikely. Lulu, Kayle, etc. just mean he can't get solo pickoffs against defenders but then they are also tied to having to follow their teammates all game because of what Zed MIGHT engage on.

There isn't any thought to any of this from the Zed player. This is what happens in nearly every single game with Zed completely independent of what else is in the game. It is an uphill battle from start to finish.

This is a game of basketball where the other team gets to start with the ball every single time. If you are even slightly better, it doesn't matter but holy fuck does it begin to wear on you especially given the much lower effort to reward Zed has to put into the game.

Most players haven't been able to vocalize this so they do what has historically been done about champs that give you problems: call it OP, and hope for nerfs. This isn't really about winrate or itemization or whatever. It's because it is actually exhausting to play against Zed endlessly in every game even if you have a patented way to "shit on them every time".

It was a good run boys and girls. I liked shitposting with you all and swapping pictures of cute waifus but I think I'm done with this shitty game. It's clearly time to move on.

The shitty part is the only new multiplayer game out right now is Overwatch. It's OK but I can't see myself playing it for years like I did League of Legends.

You missed the point. It's a constant checklist the entire game when playing against a Zed. A checklist that if you do not fulfill exactly every game, and with your teammates, that he will become a major nuisance to deal with the rest of the game.

THIS STILL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WINRATE. YOU LITERALLY PLAY IN RESPONSE TO EVERYTHING THE ZED DOES, NO MATTER HOW SHIT THE ZED IS.

Sure if you do that, and the dozen+ other things you MUST do every game with a zed you can keep him down but that STILL misses the POINT. This is the basketball analogy.

I never once brought up winrate you ass. People having a checklist on how to shut down a champion is something that exists for every carry in this game. It's the actual game part of league. By reducing balance down to a purely theoretical standpoint you're removing the game aspect from a fucking video game.

To be fair though, the amount of attention Nasus demands to be counter played is pretty atrocious. I still feel he needs a stack cap based on his level to mitigate this. It would open up room in buffing other parts in his kit too.

Yes, my and the 90% of so of the playerbase that are SICK of Zed.

This has nothing to do with Zed's winrate, it has nothing to do with being an assassin (at least directly), and it is NOT the same as with other champions.

When I say a checklist, I mean a checklist of things that absolutely must be done 100% of the time or Zed "snowballs" until "late game" (whatever that means) regardless of how any other part of the game went.

You shit on any nearly any other champion in the entire game for the first 20 minutes, you will see that impact after 20 minutes compared to if you had not. That champion will have to look for opportunities to get back in the game by changing their playstyle in response to what YOU are doing.

Zed never has to do any of this. He has a checklist of things that he can do in any game, against any lineup, that make such "problems" non-existent. Assuming you could even "shit on him" in the first place. And usually what "shit on" means with Zed is either

a) You fulfilled the checklist (and he wasn't weak, just didn't "snowball")
b) You played a silver Zed that actually didn't abuse his stupid as fuck safe laning

Zed NEVER changes his game plan and you must at EVERY step or the impact of whatever you did instantly vanishes. QSS was a questionable item to do this but it gave players a brief respite where for once the Zed had to respond to THEM.

Riot removed that and I am not surprised 90%+ of the playerbase is tired of playing that kind of exhausting LoL.

If you're ranged in bot lane and have "Auto Attack" turned on, you can activate an emote in brush. If you start autoattacking the wave, the brush is warded. You can mash Ctrl + 4 to do this without actually attacking and breaking stealth.

You almost got the point here. The point is that this is true for everyone EXCEPT Zed which is why he has a 90+% banrate that is independent of his winrate, which used to be higher in ages past.

Playing against a Zed is like having a checklist of the following EVERY SINGLE GAME:
1. Pat your head and rub your stomach at 5 minutes
2. Click the bottom tower at precisely 5:30
3. Do jumping jacks at 7 minutes
4. Get a teammate to ping bush near dragon at EXACTLY 9:30
etc.

If you do each of these every game, then you get a clean game where your input is mapped to the outcome of the game. For every one of these you fail to do, add 5 minutes to the duration of the game.

Playing against Zed is not about him being OP, weak, strong, early game, late game, whatever. It is about being monotonous, tedious, and exhausting to play against Zed every game.

This is the reason for his banrate. This is the reason that it persists despite incoming nerfs. Because the QSS gave at least a brief period of time where the Zed had to play in response to what you did to change from his paint by the numbers play style.

You failed to follow any logic both in what you read and in your own responses. You merely attributed it to "MUST BE ABOUT ZED BEING OP" and set off an automatic response.

Unfortunately, people who can't understand beyond "OP" and "NOT OP" will always be a problem and I am hoping to talk to people that are a bit more intelligent about things. Unfortunately, Riot seems most infested by simple mindedness.

Riot stumbled on part of a good idea with removing the QSS interaction, they just needed to go farther to put actual give and take into Zed's playstyle that ISN'T tied to just items the opponent buys. They went halfway, and 90+% of the playerbase is understandably upset.

If Zed got the same kind of give and take that all other champs have in the game, I'd actually like for him to be BUFFED. Because the winrate discussion is COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT from the point I was making.

And Zed isn't the only champion that has suffered from this. Nidalee about 2 years ago was more or less the same thing and Riot did, at least temporarily, take the right steps. But apparently they can't make that connection with current Zed.

Building attack speed on AP champs is not the same punch as building CDR on AD champs.

Originally the stats were developed for AP and AD. Building AP gives damage to turrets, AD builds damage and attack speed because they don't have status effects (or as many) tied to their abilities.

It's literally one of the most ancient things still in the game, and its odd that it hasn't been tweaked in any way other than both making it something the game has and trivializing the million ways any champ, AP or AD, can easily hit the cap.

The question remains anon: at what point does his lackidasical attitude stop being charming and starts becoming annoying?
