Becuase those seperate weapons in NV existed to fulfill various different niches in the weapon system,because its modding capabilities were so small.

With Fallout 4's far larger and more expansive modding system you need far less base weapons to chive the same number of total effects because you have more mods that do different things.

A good RPG should provide enough weapons/ways to use those weapons to fulfill the various niches needed i nthe gameplay system.

be that take the form of a lot of unmoddable base weapons, or a few highly moddable base weapons, is beyond the fact.

A good RPG should not just have weapons for the sake of having more weapons, because when a game does that, the various stats of those guns often blend together, making your weapon choice increasingly less meaningful and unique.

This. I exposited on this in a general way back, but the weapons in NV represent progression as compared to the weapons in 4 representing potential.
Take, for example, the rifle progression in NV. You start with the varmint rifle, a gun with fairly cheap, readily available ammo. It has a low rate of fire, low capacity, solid range and damage, and can mount a suppressor. You can trade off for a more powerful hunting rifle later, giving up a suppressor for increased range, a slightly higher ROF, and dramatically increased damage. From there you go to the sniper rifle, sharing ammo with the hunting rifle and having higher ROF, capacity, and a suppressor option, before finally being able to trade off for the monstrous .50 Anti-Materiel Rifle, giving up the high ROF and suppression option for devastating damage.

In Fallout 4, you have the dinky bolt-action rifle that, in either pipe or pre-war variants starts in .308. You beef up the receiver, install a suppressor, put a larger mag on, round out the receiver for .50, put a better barrel on it, and fit it with a better stock, and now it's an AMR.

It's essentially the same progression, but involves much fewer weapon swaps. I do miss the old-style progression though. There was always something great about landing a cool gun from a store or a hideout. The really special uniques need to make a comeback.

Let's say I've equipped a Deliverer with 4 ranks in Gunslinger. That is a 1.8x multiplier to the damage with non-automatic pistols. If I have the standard receiver installed, which gives the gun a base damage of 25, I wind up with

1.8*25=45 damage accordingly.

The advanced receiver is supposed to buff the base damage of the gun by 21 points, in which case

25+21=46 base damage

Now with rank 4 of Gunslinger:

1.8*(25+21)=82.8 (I don't know which way the display is supposed to round)

However, the ACTUAL damage that is shown with the Deliverer in my hands with the advanced receiver installed, while I have Gunslinger 4, is 77. How did the game arrive at this value??

Which of these mods causes cell reset issues?

After installing one (or some) of these mods, my Power armor displays reset to T-45 from X-01. I can console them back but I heard it happens again every time you leave the cell, and can also affect containers.

There's a workaround that lets you build "safe" versions of most containers and one for PA too, but you basically have to go around manually scrapping anything that respawns.
There's no way to completely fix it until we get the full CK and modders can tag the cells properly, or Beth go out of their way to fix a problem caused by mods.

By the way, that beast tamer mod is pretty neat.

It lets you make collars that when equipped on creatures, hostile or spawned in your settlements via WW, you can command them like followers. They don't take up another follower slot.

I put it on one of my Deathclaws from Deathclaw Island, you can also give them names, but they're all pre-determined by the mod...you can't name them anything you want. I also noticed an issue with the skin, when I fast traveled my Alpha Deathclaw lost all of its skin color and just became generic brown. Still, was a cool mod.

I think I fucked up. I told the Brotherhood were the synths are at Far Harbour before finishing the questline.

Do they show up immediately?

I can't check right now since I'm at work but I have found the marine combat armour, the nuclear launch key, the turbine thing and also discovered the buried body. I now have the option to return to Dima and confront him.

If I return to Acadia will the Brotherood be there fucking shit up? I actually want the synths to die because I'm roleplaying as a Brotherhood solider but I don't want to miss out on a bunch of potential quests, nor do I want that girl to die.

The two biggest things are size and presentation
Like every area in the mod is massive for the sake of being massive, but there's fuckall really for content. Half your time is spent treking through dungeons and landscapes that are MASSIVE with no real content to justify the size, nor particularly anything interesting.
And the things themselves in the mod end up being boring. The mod hypes certain portions with no real payoff, for example the titular dome ends up being a completely generic dungeon crawl where you fight raiders in the same tileset you saw in vanilla.
It's just so disappointing and so dragging.

Most people I think would be ok with that on the whole, and anyone that isn't here will get shouted down as a casual. However, just to bring up some points to think about.

Provided the clues are actually good, that wouldn't be a problem. For the love of god don't make it ambiguous whether certain information is relevant, a lot of people WILL miss it and call you a shitcunt with a broken mod.

I'd suggest making them a lootable item, so you can review your clues.

Maybe a crudely drawn map isn't a bad idea too.

Perhaps start the first few clues hard, and end by basically spelling it out very obviously - after all vidya is the hobby of the lowest common denominator. That way you can either figure it out, or just slog on till it's handed to you like the mouthbreather you are.

It's a tricky balance, puzzles are fun and using your head is rewarding. However you do have to be solve it without google. As that is the opposite of fun and rewarding.

Badly made/broken puzzles and shit clues will make your mod an instant write-off.

Run them by someone else before you do it, what's obvious to you might not be to another.

I'm sure all you'd need to do is Open CK, copy the pompadour wig AA and AO, then select any other hair in the copied AA's model area, and put the new AA in the new AO. The process sounds a bit confusing, but I have a video of it in action here around 2:40 in, but copy pompadour wig stuff instead.

Unity3D. The main reason I didn't want to convert all that crap was because there were like 200 hairs in the pack. If those guys want them so badly they can at least pitch in.

I like this X-01 paint. Its not 100% black like a lot of the other ones I've seen, but darker than the default. I'm gonna adjust the stats in CK though, seems a little light in that regard considering how expensive it was to make.

Why did they change the Mirelurk King design? It looked so much better in 3/NV when it had the Creature from the Black Lagoon vibe. I assumed the whole point of that design was to play into the 50's scfi-fi themes, like giant radioactive bugs. But in 4 they just look like generic monsters.

Confirmation on this? Because I have had all the DLC's on my Steam copy since they came out and I'm fine. I also wiped everything but my data folder and reinstalled FO4 after I installed the pirate DLCs, and now even F4SE works for me.

I bought all the DLC for Skyrim, and as I recall people used to just pirate the DLC for it all the time and nothing bad happened to them.

Until Bethesda improve the AI, it's not the same thing. In dialog it leads to a different conversation outcome, in real time it'd just agro him.
They need to add in guards and jail like TES has. No fucking idea why they won't though.

you can use everything in connected workshops to craft items, but you can't grab them yourself

so you can use junk, chems, vegetables and purified water in settlement X to craft stuff in settlement Y, but you can't grab the purified water yourself.

I generally abuse this by crafting refreshing beverages so I can "teleport" water from one settlement to where I am.
