I downloaded the newer version of hair highlighter and the script method doesn't seem to work anymore, the operation ends immediately (press any key to continue) with no changes in hair highlights. It only shows the dir paths and for some reason says there incorrect filename, or dir name, or syntax being incorrect though I'm pretty sure I set all the dirs right. The drag ang drop PP method works just fine, however.

Then that's your problem. You either move the .pp from the AA2_MAKE\data folder to your PP folder or you set your makedir to your AA2_MAKE\data in the batch.
The batch basically needs to know where to get all the files(.pps, scripts, backups, logs etc.) and by default searches in the subfolders nearby(if you're wondering %CD% in the batch means "Current Directory"). You either populate those folders or you point it to where your files are.

If you're using nvidia control panel to edit your AA setitngs and so on you should turn off AA in the game launcher itself. Nvidia control panel has that bug where the settings aren't saved properly so look into that. Dunno what to suggest about lagging besides your potato upgrade.
