Here's my deployment in detail. They had 2 siege towers on the left flank so I put a mix of Longbeards and Great Weapon Dwarfs there to contain the threat. Luckily I never had to face the siege towers as they got killed mere inches away from the walls.

I was planning on using the cannons to flank the orcs when they burst through the gate but they never fired a shot at them, unfortunately. They did snipe some orcs on the top of the wall though, funnily enough.

And this is the end result. To no one's surprise the Thunderers and the Quarellers were the absolute kings of this siege. I flanked the gates with them oh boy what carnage they delivered.

Some anon gave a tip a while back to put Miners with Charges above the walls, so I did. They instantly routed 2 Troll units that were going for the second gate.

Thats my biggest problem too. Chaos isn't a threat, sure you might lose a few armies and cities. But its never "I might lose the game if I dont start doing better" and thats how it should be. Chaos should burn down everything, and I do mean everything. No leaving Kisliv or Nordland with 2 territories and just sitting raiding near Talbalcland. They should burn everything between them and Altdorf and they should have way more stacks.

Well VC does get Cav, they just suck.

All of the VC units suck including their monsters. They're just big and throw units around so people get the impression that they're actually doing something(they aren't, and they die much more quickly than other monsters).

Dwarves suck but at least Hammerers and Iron Breakers are good. Gyrocopters are one of the biggest disappointments this game can offer. The other being how much Chaos underperforms for what you pay.

It all comes down to Melee Attack and Defense being worthless stats but you still have to pay for them, basically.

Look at it this way

You last longer at fights, roughly the same amount that a unit that has routed and came back would last, and if a unit has routed already chances are it will take even more losses as it runs away, effectively making it weaker by the time it runs back.

And if you lose your lord it means that the battle is not on your favor to begin with, so the odds are that you will lose with or without crumbling.

About to start a Greenskin campaign, had a question about their Legendary Lord quests.

Are there any quests I need to focus on doing ASAP for the Greenskin LLs that will be forever locked out if I don't do it early enough?

Was really disappointed when I couldn't progress further with Kemmler because he wanted me to siege and raze Empire Territories despite all the Empire Territories being long since dead.

I don't even care if I have to start with a shittier LL or army composition, I want both my LLs to be able to reach their maximum potential.

What's pathetic is a super-elite unit like Chosen /w Shields have 90% more melee defense than the Greatswords have melee attack, and have much more melee attack than the Greatswords, but will just get absolutely shit on.

If anything the Greatswords should win the fight but it should take them 5x longer because the Chosen should seriously almost never get hit.

Pick Grimgor as your starter, he's better staring off trying to unite the tribes with his melee skill. To get Azhag you need to build a shamans hut which isn't too bad. By the time you have him leveled enough to do his quests, you should have control of most of the mountains that lead north. Just make sure you have an absolutely ELITE army, because the final battle to get his crown is fucking tough.

Agreed, I miss when auto-resolve was a somewhat viable (although not 100% efficient) way of solving battles for people who didn't have the time to play out every battle or were more interested in a civilization-style game.

Now they've made auto-resolving more viable than actually playing out the battle. Previously, auto-resolving usually lost you enough that you would be better off playing out battles in order to min/max your/their losses.

Now you can auto-resolve and only lose like 5 troops while you kill every single one of theirs. There is no real incentive to play out the battles anymore because doing so usually results in you losing more troops than simply auto-resolving.

This was not the way the feature was initially intended at its introduction but this is what it has become.

Rockets are great for morale lowering and busting up big groups of lightly-armored infantry, but they struggle against heavy stuff. I atually got a banner in cmapaign that gives a unit extra AP damage and it made the rocket battery in that army notably more killy against anything heavier than low/mid-tier line infantry.

Have a bigger army and don't want to wait to build siege equipment or risk taking lots of losses from enemy towers? In the table top stone throwers had explosive radii, based on the stone fragmenting and sending shrapnel or something. so stone throwers while capable of high damage on a single target were better against massed infantry formations while cannons capable of high damage were more accurate and able to snipe monsters but weren't as good against massed infantry. A political mechanic should be necessary complete with a council of 13 that is essentially the pope from M2 if he was from milan and on crack replace family with clan and having a wife with gaining breeding rights that essentially makes clan rats and stormvermin cheaper or quicker to replenish.
