Hosts and phantoms are all hapless shitters with straight swords and medium shields, with the occassional fire uchigatana and deep axe. Your weapon variety isn't gonna be exactly mindblowing either.

Great Club is great.

Bloodborne is linear with optional areas. Granted, there ARE more optional areas.

But the Dark Souls sequels made it clear that they had one good idea, and Bamco wants it rehashed because its successful.

When they can work on something and have original ideas, they're great.

Even though Dark Souls 3 is mechanically the most polished of the series (Bloodborne competes with it, but it also has it's own stupid shit like needing to grind for blood vials, and the cancer that are blood gems), creatively and artistically speaking, it comes up short.

Also, I feel that the vast majority of BB bosses are unremarkable. In the base game, the only bosses that I really liked were Gascoigne and Gehrman. Every other boss were just slap happy beasts that played SCREAM.WMV all day.

DLC has the best bosses in the game. Ludwig, Maria, and Orphan of Cos are absolutely amazing.

Buffable weapon with base lightning/magic damage.

Those are the best choices for faith builds. It's the reason dragonslayers axe is good despite not having faith scaling. Same principle only you have the option of darkmoon blade or sunlight blade.

Good thing about the weapon is you can sunlight blade for phase 1 of nameless king, and darkmoon blade for phase 2.

Okay so how about this fanwank/listen to me come to conclusions that lots of other people have probably already reached

It's always seemed like Hollows are completely mindless, but then Dark Souls 3 came along and gave us Londor, a functioning nation of Hollows. So, instead of being completely mindless, it's more likely that Hollows have some sanity but are mindlessly aggressive to any non-Hollows. Though, they don't do much when left to their own devices.

However, Hollows can be spurred into action by organised religion. Everything we know about Londor points to the Sable Church. The Londor tome says that it offers salvation for Hollows, and damnation of all living things. Hollows hate non-Hollows and religions like the Way of White condemn the Undead, so when an organisation like the Sable Church pops up that says being Hollow is the greatest thing, it's actually capable of organising stupid, meandering Hollows into a powerful nation, and civilise them to the point where they're willing to interact with non-Hollows (not that they're friendly, but they go for deception rather than violence).

Hollow kinship and some sort of functioning society can also be seen in the Undead Settlement. The Undead Settlement is heavily swayed by the Cathedral of the Deep, another religion that is probably anti-Fire pro-Dark. Everyone in the Undead Settlement seems to be Hollow, but they're going about work and prayer as usual before you show up, and they have some sort of kinship amongst themselves and a bias against even other Hollows and Undead who don't conform - the worker at the beginning of the area who sets the dogs on some other Hollows, the butchering of troublesome community members, Loretta's death, even Hodrick saying the Pit of Hollows is for, well, Hollows.

It's possible that a coherent enough hierarchy can even have Hollows work alongside non-Hollowed. Emma doesn't seem perturbed by almost everyone around her being a Hollow, and someone must have locked up Greirat.

Why is chest armor so fucking stupid in this game in the sense that it's not just a uniform size? I have the "burly" build, made my waist smaller and my character still looks like a huge fatass when wearing certain chest pieces and a skeleton wearing others. Who thought this was a good idea.

Most of the phantoms I've seen are level synced with endgame weapons/armor. Killing those faggots and the hosts who summon them at SL10 is a great feeling.

With stat rings, you can easily use things like Dragonslayer Axe, and there are plenty of good weapons with low stat requirements like the ASS and Estoc.
