Figured out some more Kumo hitbox stuff. I'm the guy from a thread ago. If you know this or are not interested in reading it, think of this as a bump.

Now, obviously Kumos are affected by momentum. But there's a second part to maxing out their damage: The hitboxes on the double swipe overlap in such a way that you can hit twice with your left weapon AND once with the right one. On accuracy Kumos, that's still easily 25-30k worth of damage.
What you need to do is have the enemy AC to the diagonally in front of you, as well as be very slightly above them (optional, but easier to connect. Hard to get the correct height sometimes though). This only works when the opposing party is on your left side, because the left hand swings first.
Now, what you need to do is look down at a 45-60 degree angle. This allows the left Kumo yo hit with both the "side" hitbox and the "front" one, as well as managing a third hit with the very end of the overhand right punch.

Some things to watch out for:
If you're running melee, you're likely using the lowest-drain FCS. I advise strongly against this when using the Murakumo. This is because, on lock, your AC will auto-turn toward the opponent and mess up your positioning, and that particular FCS has a very wide lock. Instead, run the size 7 junk FCS. This will cost you about 800 energy more, but you'll be in scan mode most of the time anyway and thus it won't really matter.
Finally, I'm not sure whether or not this works with Power Kumos as I haven't tried yet. I imagine you can get at least two hits, maybe even three, but it would be very difficult in a real fight.

The games imply nothing of the sort. The only important thing is who the player is controlling. They get all the plot armor, and can radically alter the game as they please. That's why the White Glint 2.0 could easily beat White Glint 1.0 even in Aretha, because we controlled him. It's why Cube's Plan D could bring down White Glint 2, but not us. Sadly I was left with no choice but to use Reg 1.15 + Kojima wombo combo on "maybe it's just an animal" entry. Even Old baka manage to take one down which I thought was entirely impossible. However the one he took down was badly damage, just boosting past it was enough to kill it. As for the remaining.... I simply Moonlight Blade'd them to death.

Since it's Sunday, what's everyone's favorite FA AC model? Which one looks best?
Personally I like Soluh. It's a nice design, easy to run, handles consistently. Also you can slap the giant Raiden cannon on it's back and put rifles/Mgs in it's hand for a really fun build.
I also love the design of the Linstant (sp?) parts. And Fragile's Wing legs are really cool and surprisingly good for that lmaohuge speed boost. If only they had a bit more carrying capacity

So guys, riddle me this: which game has the best melee mechanics? The originals have such a nice feeling to them, a balance of impact and the swing animations of the blades are super cool. The 4th era is cool with melee because of how you can duel wield stuff and you have incredible speed to top it off, so it makes for some intense blading matches. However, ACVD has the ramming mechanic, and I can't say I hate that. It's one of my favorite features.

If I had to choose, I'd go with the 3rd gen because it's the most balanced of them all.

Sort of, but not really?

VD is a multiplayer focused game and t's basically dead now, so it's not the best place to get into it. It's still a pretty fun game though and has a pretty entertaining singleplayer. The other problem is that it plays nothing at all like the other entries in the series (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just not a good representation of the franchise as a whole).

Try 4 and For Answer since they're on the same console gen as the V games, those have great campaigns and For Answer is apparently still somewhat active online if you're into PVP. If you have a decent PC you can emulate the PS1 and PS2 games (some have PSP ports which I think emulate better in some cases).

Yeah. If you see them coming a Kumo hit is easy to mess up, meaning instead of dying you'll just take a ton of damage. And at least on INT nobody knows how to use em anymore anyway.

Finally: This might be common knowledge, but if you see a quad with a Grind Blade, watch the fuck out. For some reason this combo results in dealing double damage with left and 2.5x damage with right. Even with accy kumos that's 25k on a single HB only hit. If they get two or even three hits you're pretty much dead in even the heaviest of heavyweights.

When he formed ORCA Otzdarva acted on behalf of the League (or rather Omer). They wanted to clear the way to space while saving face and not admitting their mistakes as well as letting them be the first in orbit, so they made him spearhead the proxy rebellion as he was both an amazing pilot and charismatic leader. This allowed them to keep up their rule by reasoning that it's necessary to fight the ORCA Brigade and simultaneously clear their past mistakes. Additionally they might have wanted to kill all the LYNX opposing the League.
This is why Otzdarva attacks you in the final Hard mode ORCA mission. You're the last LYNX alive who could be a danger to them. They eradicate Line Ark, then all of ORCA, then Otzdarva betrays Wynne and takes the final Arteria. Assault Cells gone, Omer executes an already prepared space rush program, all potential opposing forces eradicated.

Or maybe he just has dissociative identity disorder, who knows.

It is kind of weird that he didn't at least deploy to defend the HQ, but it's possible he just lost all motivation to fight when Anjou died since there's implications that they were close. A lot of missions were made easier on later regulations in general. The cannonfire from Giga Base in the VOB destroy Giga Base mission is actually threatening on 1.00, while on 1.40 you barely have to evade at all.
