Not me. I was bleeding edge 2 and 3* crafting, and I am burnt the fuck out. I got literally nothing done the first two weeks of 3.2 because raiders in my FC needed gear. I spent hours, every single day doing nothing but crafting.

I'm still sitting on some crafting and gathering Vs though, so I can sell as soon as the patch drops in the lull between people getting Vs from Beast Tribes and people buying up Vs for the new gear.

Buy low, sell high. Before 3.2 hit I bought up materia and sold them for double the price or more once the patch hit. Then bought em up again once the price dropped. FC chest is sitting on a pretty 32.6 mil as well doing the same thing except with what we got from airships.
The Vs were from gamble after I bought up a bunch of stat IVs for the void ark patch but the price never spiked.
Honestly I want to pentameld the 3.3 gear because I can, I haven't bothered to craft for money for ages since I've been sitting on 54 mil consistently and usually make 20 mil every major craft patch selling shit retainers get or other crafters are too lazy to craft day 1 like the dissolvents.

In addition, if you really insist on spiritbonding via crafting whatever you craft needs to be within 1-2 or so levels of the gear to get any real bonding. For example I have a pair of holy rainbow gloves I can't get rid of because darksteel nuggets and other level 50 items give no bonding despite the 2 level difference so it is pretty much only dissolvents, glues and holy water I would ever craft these days.

Keep in mind you are essentially gambling. I don't know the IV rates but even if you assume it is 90% chance(I doubt it is) of a IV and 33% of the control materia you might not even make money every time you get a craftmanship if your server prices for them are as shit as mine. Every time you get a III will be almost a pure loss unless your III market prices are completely fucked.
The safer route would be to buy the crafting gear from Mor Dhona and go kill shit to spiritbond it. Whenever I did it I always did it at Datalan in CCH as a summoner. The rates are probably 90% chance of III and 10% chance of IV but you will never lose money on an item.

I actually did that prior to 3.2, using the Mor Dhona gear and bonding in Urth's Gift as a WHM. As an aside, Assize is insanely satisfying to use when you're surround by about 10 mobs. I've heard that the odds of an IV from the vendor gear in Churning Mists is 75%, and while the prices aren't great for non-Control materia, about 90k for Craftsmanship and 150k for CP, those are still decent odds.
If I'm bonding say 5 pieces of gear, which costs around 100k, roughly 3 of which will be an IV and of those three, there's a 1 in 3 chance that one will be worth 280k. You're right that getting a III is a net loss, but a single control IV is more valuable than two sets of 5 pieces each. It's not great money, but its mindless money that I don't have to be at my computer to earn.

True enough. I would highly recommend testing first before you dump a bunch of gil into mats for mass synths. I have cloud mica whetstone as an example but for all I know it would take 300+ to spiritbond one dhamel item. The whetstone are level 56 and the gear 55 so I would assume it is best.
Dragon Fang Earrings could also pretty damn cheap to craft if you were to craft Hardsilver Nugget as well, plus it gives you a free item to spiritbond.

As a reference point, the old crafting beast tribe took about 2-4 weeks to cap out if you focused on them and you could only get about a sealant and a half a day. Left side items took 3 sealants, mainhands and offhands took 6 sealants.
They seemed to have reduced the grind of the new beast tribes by a lot but they still could fuck us over and make crafters wait several weeks to get gear and prices will tank/stagnate if that happens.

This is what I'm afraid of the most. I can't help but get Ehcatl sealant vibes from the new BT quests, and the fact that SE has started having a raging hard-on for time-gating crafting stuff.
I'll probably just play it safe and sell some now, then right before the patch drops jack the price on mine up a bit and sell them all so it's not technically flooding the market and is still within the realm of being bought in the post-patch hype.

The reason the Garleans lost the first time is cause a giant motherfucking space travelling elder dragon ruined the shit of them and itself and everything around it.
They lost the second time because one of them dropped a moon full of angry Primal on everyone.
They then lost because honestly they were still picking up the pieces of the last fuckup except for one guy who refused orders to return home so they could get themselves fixed up and then head back out again. The left-behinds lost because without the greater support chain they were divided and conquered, and their big gambit the Ultima Weapon was not what they thought it was.
Since then they've had an Emperor die and subsequent issues slowing them down regarding who the new Emperor would be and so on and so forth.
I'm sure they'll get their shit together at some point but Eorzea hasn't exactly been a place where a good logical system of progress ever occurs.

Don't forget that, as the Gilded Magitek Armor states, "It only took a few heated skirmishes with the allied city-states for Garlemald to realize that the magicks wielded by the realm's mages were too much for even the thickest magitek armor plating. Alloyed gilding has since been discovered to dampen the effects of elemental charges and is now standard issue."
Note two things: The first is that magitek armor is for the most part useless against true magic. The second is that while gilding dampens the effects, it only applies to elemental spells. Unaspected magic like Ruin likely still completely thrashes magitek armor. This means Garlemald's greatest advantage, the one thing that they could hold over most of the world, they can not do so to Eorzea.
So it's more than just Garlemald's bad luck, Eorzea can fight back tooth and nail, between their magic and martial skills. And it isn't just disciples of magic that utilize magic, all Eorzean combat styles use magic in some form, be it the chakra used by pugilists and monks, or the flat out magic used by dark knights. So yeah, Garlemald is fighting forces they don't have have much experience against.
