I'm glad I spent time doing this.

Some highlights from the stream, some info is known already:

- Beta going live next week, with new sentries;
- No safehouse info or dates yet;
- Dozers should be getting buffed, sprint might return;
- Discrepancy between difficulties should be fixed sometime later;
- Overkill tests all updates on Death Wish, but don't play it on stream due to having difficulties talking and playing at the same time;
- Saw is going to become a melee, but not now;
- Camouflage skill in Silent Killer is going to be moved to Tier 2 because it loses its value at Tier 1, new Tier 1 skill is going to be added;
- Moving 2 bags - hard to code, but can be added eventually, Overkill wants it to be real;
- Armour is in perfect position for Overkill right now, they're focusing on nerfing dodge (can't really say the last patch nerfed it though).
- Sharpshooter is the weakest subtree according to Overkill;
- Die Hard Aced will still be for ballistic vests only;

If you're in armor you can't beat an m308 paired with a China lake. M308 can one hit kill with a body shot on most mooks, if you can actually play and get head shots consistently it's ridiculous. You can take out quite a few random cops and a charging cloaker with one mag. You can easily take 3 dozers grouped together with this combo by shooting the ground with the lake, faceshot with the m308, rinse and repeat.

If you need a high concealment build you can walk away with the bronco modded to 30 concealment and a gl40 with the sawn off stock and pirate barrel. It'll put you around 10 detection for your sneaky bastard builds.

And if you like shottys the raven is on point right now, hitting over 100 damage without even trying, and no ammo loss from picking buckshot. 14 shell load up is great because if you miss a headshot it's not a problem, squeeze that trigger again. Loads quickly too. If you don't have sprint and reload you can reload from empty and then just sprint for an instant to break the reload if you need to drop a motherfucker real quick.

Silenced judge with flechettes is all you need for stealth now, add a bow since you only need one gun and it'll keep your detection low.

That's a solid pair up, but the m308/puff beats it out slightly. Puff and m308 has more loaded ammo compared to the bronco and gl40, and both will effectively do the same thing with the same amount of consumed ammo. Having more shots available is valuable, even if it's only needed occasionally. And the m308 can mount a laser scope, so most people will be able to effectively get a head shot. Gl and bronco are still completely viable though they definitely win on any build out that requires lower concealment (so dodge). I run through the same missions with both load outs, and they get the same results, but the puff/308 makes things a tad easier.

I'm fucking disgusted at Overkill, they keep fucking making DLC and trash instead of just making Payday 3 - which is
completely possible if they stopped fucking jewing people.

Like the weapon skins which are a blatant copy and cash-in on CSGO skins.

Pretty much this is why you won't say Payday 3 for a long time. There is so much content in Payday 2 that Payday 3 would never be able to rival it in terms of content at the moment so it's just wise to go onto a new game.

Level editors require dev support to make sure all the bugs and glitches are ironed out and to make sure that shit works.

Look at the shitshow that are Dota custom games right now. Valve devs barely work on fixing issues in the thing and thus, the custom game community is dead in the water because they can't even just carbon-copy the old WC3 custom maps. You only have like 5-ish games that are worth playing and/or people are interested in, and three of them are Dota mods.

*IF* OVK does the unthinkable and actually does release a community level editor and workshop system to let people share maps like Portal 2 did, then they will have to support the thing for a good while as the community dicks around with it en masse. It's not a minor project, it'll probably require a whole team and regular support for a good couple years.

You get the bad goy tag. That's it. Compare to, say, Battle.net shit, where detecting piracy results in an instant permaban.

Making a non-optional bad goy auto kick would cause issues because false positives have been a thing since they added the "anti-cheat". They probably won't ever add any further anti-cheat until PD3. Vermintide is not nearly as good as it seems.

It's very melee-focused, but the melee system is clunky as fuck and very block/dodge based. This wouldn't be as bad if not for the fact that enemy hit detection is about two to three times longer than what you would expect it to be. Here's a video showing what I'm talking about:

The dude who went down was the fucking host, so it's not server lag. That's just the reach normal enemies have.

Two-handed weapons don't OHK the shitty swarm enemies unless you charge the attack first. This makes them basically useless, as weapon-and-shield combos can also achieve OHK charge attacks while also not being complete garbage at blocking.

Ranged weapons are very limited in ammo and generally don't deal very much damage.

Wayfarer players hog all of the goddamn ammo because they're bow-wielding elf faggots and spout "i'm a ranged character" whenever you tell them to knock that shit off, despite the fact that all characters have ranged weapons.

If you thought card drops were bad, you have not experienced Vermintide's equipment rolls. You have a fairly good chance of getting fucking NOTHING from completing a match. The only way to improve your chances is to grab Tomes and Grimoires, which take up inventory space and reduce your health.

Speaking of equipment, item rarity determines stats! This means you're not going to have good equipment until you slog through the 40 minute minimum levels multiple times (and even then it's only a chance you'll get it).

Equipment can come with Traits, which is basically Vermintide's version of Perk Decks. A fully-kitted weapon more or less has Grinder, Rogue, and Gambler equipped simultaneously.

The community is super, super dead.

There are a wide variety of other issues that Vermintide has, but I'm not going into them because that would involve making a ton of posts and I just don't give enough of a fuck to do that.

OVK wants to let people people do what they want with mods and shit. Let players dictate how they want to play.

But you can't both have that and proper anti-cheats enabled because the anti-cheat isn't going to fucking know if a mod implements Pyrovision or a button that spawns lootbags, mainly because all their shit is done via Lua instead of say...a properly designed program architecture that exposes an API mods could dick with so that a game client that bypasses the modding API is an obvious cheat. Shit like a modding API needs to be put into the game during the design phase, not after you're done mucking about with a copy+paste of the first game's internals (because that's what they did instead of "writing from scratch" like they said they would when they announced PD2).

So the only thing they are capable of doing is checking if a player owns a particular DLC through the Steam dev API or whatever and give unlockers the bad goy tag.

So that's all they do.

Not only are they not competent enough to have any form of real anti-cheat enabled, the game's current state fundamentally prevents it from happening even if they spend a few months trying to duct-tape something into the game.

Ehh bigger skill tree will just be as much of a clusterfuck as the old tier-bonus system and the new beta shit devs are working on.

The perk decks were an alright idea, lets you pick a playstyle and then build a skill tree around it with no restrictions other than the usual skill point requirements to get the skill you want that everyone has to deal with.

The problem is that
(a) The 9 cards idea is stupid given how the exp barrier only matters to absolute newbies, and
(b) The fact that 4 of the 9 cards are bonuses applied to every person is stupid, should have taken the Dominator route where it's not part of the perk deck or skill tree and something more inherent in the heister. If they wanted to slow down newbies in maxing out a perk deck, they can use a different mechanic.

Maybe take away the perk *deck* concept and just replace it with "pick a class" since again, the exp barriers don't matter at all to players past first infamy. I don't think putting all the perks into a bigger skill tree set is the answer. The 15 sub-trees are a big enough, poorly balanced (skill point wise) clusterfuck as it is.

I saw in one of these threads someone mentioned a mod for stealth. I thought it seemed cheap, but I'm kind of interested now. The thing that stuck out was that you get infinite pager calls if the guard doesn't become alerted, but alerted guards you only get 2, but they have to be answered by 2 different players. Google isn't turning anything up except the stealthsuite from 2014, but I think the mod I'm looking for is relatively new.

I found it, it's called silent assasin. Should be helpful in situations where guards become static in the path you need to take late in a mission. Like framing frame, or shadow raid where 2 guards stop moving 50 feet away away from each other and you can't kill one without alerting the other.

Jesus fuck, I stopped played around the weapon rebalance, played for an hour or two when the beta came out, but I had pretty much given up on Payday. Now, Almir looks like he's Made Payday Great Again. No more black market usury, now 100% independent, fuck me lads, the wink man came good.

They are not removing the option to buy drills, they are not removing microtransactions, they are not removing steam market. They are simply discontinuing the current safes that require paid drills to open. There's no assurance that they won't also be removing the free drill drops either. And there's no assurance they won't succumb to their inner jew and pull this shit again in the next 18 months.

So tl;dr, microtransactions still in but "discontinued". No comment on whether or not they're going to stop trying to bleed people with monthly paid DLC packs, no real reason to believe anything's going to change. Also Sydney skins will be rare as fuck because of how short the life span of her safe will be. The Anarcho will be as rare as the COP legendaries.

Whats the catch? Whats the fucking catch? Ive been playing Payday games too long to accept this at face value. They cant just sit here and expect me to swallow this bullshit that they've "shed the fat" and now everything will be sunshine and proverbial rainbows. The cancer is systematic, nothing has changed. They'll dangle all these enticing morsels in front of us then when we least expect it, they'll beat us over the head with the maglite of F2P or CoD-style killstreaks or some other absurd shit they knew we didn't want.
