i cut 1 mana tide totem for justicar
seriously, choosing your totem can be pretty op sometimes
example, you need that spell damage totem to clear the board
or dropping taunts turn after turn or healing totems if your minions are damaged

the only downside is that justicar has a weak body and is slow/bad tempo but sometimes his high attack can be useful especially if you can drop the taunt totem to protect him. in the end i love my justicar though

i used to run the flamewreatheds instead of the argent squires because i was like, hey, they're much stronger!
But like you said, they kill your next turn and they get removed most of the time
Having 2 extra 1 drops is so strong because you're trying to out tempo your opponent by having that first turn drop then flametongue to get that early damage in. you can also trade for free because of that divine shield.
in the end, i found argent squire wins me more games than flamewreathed
there used to be a master of evolution in my deck too but i found it useless most of the time when you can't play it because you don't want to evolve a high value minion like totem golem

Aggro wants to win fast but can't increase damage output significantly. Aggro use lots of cheap minions and spells.

Tempo decks in Hearthstone are midrange/combo. They want to take board control by turn 5-6 and drop their star minions (flamewaker, frothing) uncontested. Then they proceed to shit tons of damage from synergy between cards but rarely win in midgame in one turn. They can close the game later with strong minions and spells.

Tempo focuses on being efficient with mana and minions, trying to trade up whenever possible and building up a board over a few turns that you can't deal with.

flame jugglers are alternatives to tech cards i usually run like crazed alch and ooze, but ooze is too slow always, and alch is only ever good against a big doomsayer meta.

i run horseman over dark iron because dark iron is mostly a win more card and doesn't help in matchups (mainly aggro shaman and any iteration of tempo/aggro warrior) where you want to keep as much board right now that develop an awkward 4/4 that trades very slowly. Gormok ends up being kind of being a strictly better dwarf, but it's still slow and doesn't do anything while you're behind.

also charge is really valuable when you have POs or any other reach in hand but don't have leeroy or a board

Tempo is a stupid term. Initiative is the word you should be using.

Aggro is all about lots of cheap minions, facehitting, direct (burn) damage, limited card draw and limited time to finish the opponent. Tempo is all about seizing the board early on and never losing it, using your removal spells or some kind of combos to keep your opponent on the defensive from turn one. Once you lose the board/initiative, tempo decks, in theory, should be finished.

Tempo is usually defined as the speed of cards. Tempo decks almost exclusively play fast (tempo positive) cards to seize the board and dictate trades.

It's not that much of a stretch to use that term.

New player here thanks to Overwatch giving me cards and making me install battlenet anyway.

Really liking Rogue, especially the whole equipping the hero and winning with her directly part, though I've heard it's more skill intensive than other classes. Is there a better class I should start with, or should I start with rogue right from the get go to maximize experience with her?

Most f the times you drop him for like 0-4 mana. That seems like a ridiculously low price for a 8/8 body.
If you actually can't summon him for that cost, you're most likely losing so hard that you would lose anyways.

Half zoo cards can't even deal damage to it. The other half will all die because they deal 1-2 damage to it while taking 4 which is more than any zoo minion besides Sea Giant have.

Something like reduce the first instance of damage it takes per turn by 2.
So if you attack several times it will reduce only the first one.

I cannot fathom why this deck is popular and I cannot fucking understand why this deck is good.

I can't understand the reason this deck is so good, it's worse than any other aggro deck I've played. It has such a low winrate, I cannot even get out of rank 15 with it.

I have a couple Paladin quests to do and I don't have N'zoth, so I threw together this Dragon Paladin.

What do you guys think? Is there anything I should add or take away? I'm not sold on the Faerie Dragons but they seem like they'd be good in a meta where spell removal is so prevalent. The idea is to just curve out and win with board control, nothing fancy.

I'm not sure if I find this game fun.

I mean I spam arena and feel good when I win, and I open arena packs and feel good when I acquire good cards for my collection.

If I was forced to compete I'd probably try my best, however I can't bring myself to care about ladder ranks because playing arena is probably more rewarding.

I really think fatigue damage was a mistake. It should be like Magic, if you try to draw from an empty deck you loose.

It would kill in it's crib all these annoying tutling strategies like control priest, control warrior, and ice block mage. They have to run card draw to keep tempo. But they often don't bother with having a win condition, they just rely on the game running out and letting fatigue damage kill the opponent first. That makes for boring frustrating games.

If you drew out your whole deck 5 or 6 turns before me you shouldn't get to win because you spent the whole game stacking 40 armor. The game should be designed such that players focus on actually winnning the game instead of giving a secondary win condition to the person who just drags it out.
