As far as OGSE exos go, KNIGHT+poopsuit > monolith > first gen exo + poopsuit > shit > regular KNIGHT.

KNIGHT+ poopsuit is really heavy but makes up for it because it's hands down the best suit in the game (lol 70% bullet damage resistance), and its increased carrying capacity more than makes up for its weight. It only has one bad thing about it, it's the reward for a quest that is mildly annoying. You can repair it with Beryll suits (no, I'm not shitting you).

Monocuck exo has the advantage that you can find it ""relatively"" early on if you're lucky, it's light, and it's as mobile as the KNIGHT. The only downside is that the durability is shit (and therefore it costs an arm and a leg to repair it, as you can't use monolith suits for repairing it) and the integrated NVG.

First gen exo is kinda shit, as its sprinting is really slow. If you don't have a car you'll want to kill yourself. The good aspect about it is that you can use it with the poopsuit (which, again, can be repaired with Berylls, and if I'm not mistaken even the basic army bulletproof vest).

"Common" KNIGHT exo is fucking shit because it weighs 12 more kg than the first gen exo, the heaviest suits you can use it with are the sunrise suit and the Duty suit Hunter Edition, its only advantage is faster sprinting speed. Its bonuses to bullet resistance is laughably bad (same as the first gen exo, being +5% or so impact/rupture resistance). To add insult to injury you will more often than not end up with getting it AFTER you get the KNIGHT+poopsuit.

Most of the "new" features are either underused (the knife/gasmask slot), have already existed for years (autodoctor, artifact detectors, cars, food spoiling), more recent mods do them WAY better (weapon attachments and gunplay), at the end of the day the few truly new things that it brings to the table are some graphical improvements and bufgfixes, an easier way to modify the spawns, some new quests and the AI improvements. Its saddening to know that it could've been so much more.

Yes and no.
The older version has some extra quests and perhaps better performance but lacks the new areas.
Then again, the new areas are empty and only used for fetch quests.
But LS has a few more high quality weapons.
Geonezis version did add a few though so it makes up.
Try LS but do yourself a favour and use the old Zaton start patch. Unless you're into fetchquests that is.

You need to turn it on with the shitty battery for progressing the quest though, and you have to go back and forth between the Army Whorehouses and the Dead City like 3 times.

AO3 already comes with Atmosfear and Absolute Nature. As far as Absolute Structures, I only know enough to say that you are having a loading/render error. Like in Minecraft, a chunk is a section of the map loaded when the player enters/nears it.

Hold the presses! Besides the already mentioned Special Forces mod, I found an extremely promising, but unreleased Radium mod (Ultimate Weapon Renewal). Forget Weaponsoup, this looks excellent. It has your Vityaz SMG as well.

Stalker is a Slav game so it has Slav design decisions. The lower the difficulty your game is set to, the greater chance that bullets that enemies fire at you will simply disappear. Not miss, vanish into thin air right of the barrel. The only problem is that this goes both ways so your bullets will vanish into thin air too.
Say you're playing on rookie. If you fire 8 rounds from your Makarov, only 3 might actually hit and the other 5 will either miss or flat out vanish; and this gets even worse with modifiers like weapon condition, ammo, and the stance that you shoot from.

This is why you play on Master.

also tested out adding a laser sight to the beretta, actually works pretty well. for aiming i'll probably have it so the gun gets angled and the laser points toward the center of the screen. it glows but its hard to see. Then when I get my new attachment script written (or just modify the existing one) I'll have it so you can attach holo sights for the zoom aiming and then the laser sight for quick hipfire stuff (actually makes it relatively easy to hit targets when not using a crosshair).

Some people call "more damage and accuracy realistic" but that's bullshit. Seeing as plenty of baddies are using armored plates in this game, it isn't "realistic" to have a single AK bullet kill a man unless it's that lucky perfect headshot. Even then it's not entirely realistic as the human skull is thick and angled enough to occasionally deflect bullets.

Loot the dead, pick up guns, every friendly stalker have a single medkit to trade, trade one medkit for 3-4 guns you picked up from the corpses, you now have 3-4 medkits for combat scenarios. Heal with not contaminated food or meatlof when you're not in combat, heal with medkits when you fight. Loot mutant parts and unload them to sid when he asks for particular parts. Or just sell them when you have a lot. 1 pseudo dog tail = 1 medkit, (or 3-4 blind dog tails, or tushkano heads) Boar drop 4 legs, they're heavy but worth selling during hobo phase.

You get a pistol and 5 mags worth of ammo when you go to resolve car park situation with bandits. You had dead stalkers near the bridge during tutorial mission, cordon car park shootout should have got you going - it's 5 bandits vs you and 3 friendly stalkers, just hug the wall and pop a few shots once in a while, even if friendlies die you could loot them and finish the job, use cover, lean, flank, throw nades, camp with sawn off near the corner and wait for them to get into your trap (you can hear them bantering and their footsteps to get the idea where they are).
If you just absolutely cannot git gud at ogse just uninstall and play something like AA2, but then again it's not that different from vanilla in it's core gameplay.

I'm not. The designer decided to not only fuck up the pda, but make the character go into spasms when shot or shooting and have the screen go fucked up, red and blurry when shot.

I was able to remove the shooting seizure but not the blur and pda.

There is no other SoC mod having a detector showing anoms and artifacts on its LED screen ala CoP and Clear Sky. So the truth is that no one else did that. I also never saw advanced sleep function where the player can not sleep under the rain and could be attacked by monsters or bandits if he does not sleep in a safe place or near friendlies, or the ability to wear exos on normal suits. And its the only mod that managed to fix the bugged SoC inventory, that moves all over the place when you transfer items. If you unpacked configs gamedata and not xrpatch gamedata, this could cause a crash because configs gamedata probably uses old unpatched files and it is overriden by xrpatch gamedata. I'm the dude who made warfare. There are a lot of weird map transitions in CoC. I think it was because initially they didn't realize how horribly connected a lot of the maps were. I'll be removing these extra "cheat" points before too long in warfare - finally got it to not crash in level editor when deleting that stuff. What level are you having the issue on?

Yuri the Nigger's quest gives you his PKM and a random assortment of artifacts worth about 30k RU.

Sakharov's "weird artifact in darkescape" gives you the bioradar, or if you got it early (because that's what you get for helping Kruglov) you get all of the firmwares for it.

The artifact Klondike gives you like 8 artifacts, savescum until you get the ones you like the most, as a fair amount of them are fairly useless.

You can make about 50k RU per night on Arena fights, after the fist tourney (being the vanilla SoC arena fights). Nearly double that amount of money if you have the PKM and the autodoctor (you'll need both if you want to do the timed challenges, partially because of health concerns, partially because wearing suits in the arena is dumb as it's expensive as hell to fix them).

NEVER sell Micas or Night Stars, you'll need them for transmutes.

Don't fucking bother with Sid's "find the "empty" artifacts" quest, the reward is fucking trash compared to the effort and the shit he asks you.

Whenever I see heavy fog and flashlights in the distance I always thought it'd be cool for there to be a mutant that came out in the fog and walked around with a flashlight to trick you into coming close or lead you off into anomalies. I also wish they were more creative with zombies. It'd be cool if instead of just brain-damaged retards with guns they were instead seriously fucked up and legitimately undead, mimicking stalkers and calling you over or repeating voice lines but when you get close enough you notice their gas mask is caved into their face or tons of puss and blood is leaking out of their suit.

STALKER 2 had such cool mutant concepts, it's such a shame we'll never get it and if we do it'll likely be very shit.

Once you get your grips and feet dug in even chimeras and pseudogiants become jokes.
Controllers are probably the worst just because of their infinite-range pull shit and if you have any psy-block they're fucked. It'd be cool to see more tank-type mutants that exist literally just to be big fuckers that soak up a ton of your ammunition.

Those moments in the early game when you find a mutant that is very obviously well out of your ability to handle coming at you so you shit your pants, drop them, and bend over to kiss your ass goodbye are some of the best moments in early-game.

I can't agree with that. Strugatsky's portrayal of the zone wouldn't work well in a videogame unless you really put lots of effort into it, and even then it wouldn't have much replay value unless shit is really randomized and maybe has a bit of input from actual humans for making things more interesting.

That said, my ideal zone consists in fuckhuge maps with very little human life in it, but tons of mutants. It'd make the Zone seem like a really hostile place, and it'd make the squabble between Duty and Freedom even pettier.

No, really, the last parts of SoC or any other iteration of STALKER feels like shit because it has way too many human enemies. It turns a game about atmosphere into a corridor shooter.

I wouldn't care if they made the whole anomalies and mutants thing based around the supernatural, or shrugging it off as 'magic', a la FEAR. The game is already vague in how the C-Consciousness, psy stuff, and mutations work, even more so with the anomalies.

Normal human beings trying to survive the unexplainable. Some had no choice about being there. Others, brave men and fools alike went there willingly, often so seek their luck, others because that had nowhere else to go but to hell on Earth.

I'd probably have most people war all kinds of outfits, so that you wouldn't be able to recognize who you can trust and who you can shoot simply by looking at their clothing, like you can do with bandits and Loners. Only government approved factions and some para-military wear uniforms.

I have two ideas, actually. First is a STALKER game set in Blame! 'verse. A place you explore impossibly large architectures and find ancient but incomprehensible technology. Enemies are, well, obvious enough if you've read the material, but for clarification there almost if no human enemies. You could probably go for really wierd mind puzzles, changes in gravity, accessing the Net as an entire puzzle in itself, whatever else I can't count. As far as its plot goes, i's also obvious if you've read the original material: Find the Net Terminal Gene, and to stop the expansion of the Megastructure.

Some large island like ARMA or Far Cry 3, all one map like both games, factions are similar to STALKER, but with Asian, Greek, or Slav flavors. Mutants could include sea mutants of some kind, considering the fuck huge ocean that would surround the island, anomalies would be like STALKER, but with water ones thrown in.

I posted this last night, but its I have 52 or so weapons to align (sights like aimpoint pro and 1p78), which takes about two minutes per usually, worst case five if I need to correct something on the model. A lot of weapons use the same animations obviously, and their iron sights are very close (which means scopes are even closer typically), so it's probably around 30 or so weapons to align. After that I want to fill up the the traders lists which is easy and will take an hour tops. So being liberal, maybe like 8 more hours of work to finalize shit? Maybe less. Though tonight I'm going out with friends and won't be working on it.
