I feel like within the professional sphere of the game industry, SEGA doesn't have nearly as bad a rep as they do among gamers and "journalists". Especially if you look at Japan where despite Japs never really being huge Sonic fans (or perhaps because they don't care about Sonic), SEGA is a huge presence. Besides game software development that we think of, they run arcades, they run restaurants, they run theme parks, they develop the vast majority of hardware used in arcades, they own a record company, they produce anime, they make otaku-pandering merchandise, etc. There's a lot more to SEGA than people usually think about.

Along with the comic it's probably the most active part of the franchise too, with S2 coming up soon.

I would rather have had some action/adventure show with Sonic, but I am genuinely surprised at how much I ended up liking the show, it's really funny to me.

Blob feet may be Uekawa's style, but I prefer to believe that they'd actually have some sort of cartoony definition to their feet. It's an art style thing. It's the default art style of the modern era, is what I mean. When Uekawa redesigned everyone for Adventure he established the guidelines for the art style. So Sonic X, since it follows the game's art style, looks the same. It's like how the Archie comics (as in Archie the series) have their house style, even if the actual artists drawing the comic changes.

I personally think it's a bit weird to have fingers and not have toes of even the most basic level, but I'm not losing any sleep over it.
