The whole thing is really depressing. I really, really love The Sims and have been playing since the 1st one. Hundreds and hundreds of hours. I've spent maybe 1/10 the amount of time with Sims 4 than I did with Sims 3.

I hate EA so much. They have never recovered from something like this - with any franchise they have. Once they knock it out, they keep kicking it while it's down instead of trying to raise it back up. Meh.

I think it has to do with them trying not to make the game too intense because 3/4 of their fanbase is playing on Commodore 64s. The Sims 3 was just about perfect, design-wise. But because they can't optimist code and their userbase plays on whatever their parents hand down to them, they had to backpedal and gut it. Enter Sims 4. Sims 5 will probably be iOS.

Yea, there are so many things in TS4 that are two steps forward and one step back. The way sims look, react, animate, and multitask are fucking incredible, yet no open world, no CASt, and no more actually building your own worlds. It frustrates me so badly when I see something in a public lot that I can't fucking edit or replace or add to. TS4 is the only sims game that restricts you like this.

Well clothes and objects are good. Plenty of Tumblrs out there filled with stuff. Hair styles are good too. It really depends on where you look though.

Animations are still iffy. There are no custom objects with custom animations yet. But pose/animations have been on the rise since Andrew Pose Player came out.

I started a new story with two gloomy and grumpy old men.

Everytime I think of The Sims, I just get pissed off. Played 1,2, and 3 to death. Sims 4 comes around. Fucking mobile-tier. I want to play a new, GOOD sims game that's hashed out instead of stripped down. But no fucking game anywhere, and probably never will be again, because EA is a bunch of greedy assholes and the userbase is 8 year old girls on 10 year old computers who wouldn't recognize a good PC game over a tamagotchi, and whos computers can't even handle a tamagotchi.

Honestly, I've just given up. I know I'm putting it in the right place because the custom music is in the same Sims 3 folder and it works fine in game, but the mods refuse to. I've just assumed it's been an issue with the installation of the game because I've installed the mods dozens of times over and in dozens of different places and even resorted to following any tutorial I could find online for maybe even a hint of an issue, but I've found none.
