As far as I can tell, the PS1 games emulate just fine.
I think Nexus works okay, but I don't know about any of the other PS2 games.
Last Raven emulates well, there are people playing against each other on it through PPSSPP.

Probably the V era games? You rarely get any allies helping you (unless you count UNACs in VD), but you do fight multiple enemy ACs pretty often. There's also the fact that the V era games have some of the most dangerous grunt enemies in modern AC games, so even when you're fighting mooks you have to be kind of careful. Of course, there's still the super powered boss battles all over the place so it doesn't really count. I don't know much about Ace Combat but I don't think the two series can compare that well.

LR mainly is 1vs1 fights, after that followed by another 1vs1 sometimes.

I wil say VD since there is a lot of AC fights and most of them are 1vs2.

FA is close to the squadron fight in all endings.

AC 4A, 5 and VD.

You'll enjoy the missions in those games. ACFA has the best laid out story and the servers are still up, V has 1v2 galore and can port your save into VD. VD has literally loads of missions, again lots of 1v2 and servers still up.

I once did a Stinger run of Nexus. All the frame parts and weapons are Mirage, so I chose a Mirage generator and radiator then went to town.
It was pretty awful. No AMS, the Dragon is garbage, the blade hits decently hard but has a long reload time, and you have no AP. I had to switch the Dragon for a plasma rifle in order to have the damage necessary to finish the game.

I fucking loved Chromehounds. I played Commander all the time and was so good at it that my team leader banned me from playing anything else, because I was a liability if I wasn't running mission control. I got away with playing my sniper build sometimes, but I had to be sneaky about it.

Even if we couldn't be friends we would at least be enemies and I'd recorded my fights. That would have been more than enough for me to get over what I have missed, what I'm not apart of. I wanted to be niche just like you. It's hard to watch old videos of the 4A because I begin to think about how I was never apart of the community and these are the type of games I love. Whether I die on the battlefield or become the greatest NEXT pilot doesn't even matter to me anymore.

I just want to feel the fight. The fear of losing. The burden that is high expectations. I want to fight other pilots... and this is my last opportunity - here at /acg/

In all honesty, the disappearance of all the namefags isn't that terrible of a thing on the grand scale because it would likely survive that. Well, the only reason for me to support the merge would be if we can actually get more people to play during SNFA or supportor the LR emulation project, but I belive that /acg/ exist because people want a place apart to talk about armored core, there is a reason we still keeping making the threads. as Jeck says >>142842796 the general also serves as a place to help new player to enter the serie, with real advice and support, even now SNFA is a relative success because we are getting people to play those, the LR emultion projects looks doing fine for now.

Even more, if the merge happens and FROM actually release AC6, I think people looking for a place to talk about the previous games or for advice, will just find a a new general full of newbies with people with no real expirience with the old games, while /gerg/ or /m/ could server as place to look for advice, is no the same than having a dedicated general for it.

Just my humble opinion.

This is only halfway about a lack of posters and halfway due to more and more generals being made in /vg without increasing the page count for /vg. Unless that changes any general that can't post very frequently will die regularly.

I've casually perused /acg every once in a while as a giant robot enthusiast and you guys seem cool.

Be aware we have a small but active pile of shitposters like most generals. If you can ignore that you're more than welcome to come though I can only speak for myself.

If you assume the CG intro is even canon, it looks like White Glint's attack was a total failure. Anatolia's Merc is definitely skilled enough to take down Motherwill but he probably didn't have the same intel as Strayed (Strayed had access to League insider tier intel while White Glint is limited to Line Ark intel). This means that no matter how good White Glint is, if he doesn't know to target the turrets and cause internal damage, he's not going to be able to win a prolonged fight.

I just thought of something. In AC4, Anatolia's Merc singlehandedly blows BFF the fuck out. Years later in ACFA, you have Motherwill as a BFF Arms Fort, and in the CG intro he actually fails to destroy it. I wonder if that's intended symbolism for how Arms Forts have supposedly made Nexts obsolete?

You talking from a lore or gameplay perspective? Gameplay it's easy, you just blade it to death. Lore is also pretty easy, you just need to have a flight capable Next and good reaction times to dodge all of its attacks, as well as enough speed to escape the assault armor. You basically just keep shooting it and disabling it piece by piece until it dies to death.

if we go in-universe, I think their best option would be using explosives and missiles to destroy the part were the wings joins to the main body, problaby having to take out the missiles launchers on Answerer so they can survive. Of course they need plenty ammo, and a good operator to warn them when the AA is going to explode, and if we go hard mode, also fast since the primal armor of answerer is so big that cause kojima contamination in the area hard enough to damage a NEXT.

Okay, first actual Armored Core related question in this thread. I've been trying to git gud with the Murakumos in ACVD. I know about the Grind Blade Kumo quad thing, but I want to play a biped with ranged options as well.
I've noticed that sometimes when I get a clean hit (Glide Boost to High Boost to Booster Cut to Kumo hit) the damage will be even higher than normal (as in 30k instead of 15-18k) and there's a "clank" hitsound as if someone got kicked. I haven't figured out how to do that intentionally.

So, any tips? How does one Kumo properly?
And is there a point to the one-two punch when dual wielding? The second hit always does next to no damage because I no longer have momentum after the first hit connected.

Kumos are based on RNG and are based on how well you're doing. As in "if you're doing great, the kumo will have the effectiveness of a rotten banana peel on a stick". Whereas if you're doing bad, it'll have the same effectiveness, but look like you're doing good.

I figured out the dual punch on my own. I was cancelling the second hit by moving too early, apparently. So now I can do around 30-35k damage with them.

And I definitely got the perfect hit once more and it's 100% a different hitsound. Normal Kumo hit is quiet, perfect hit has a boost drive hit sound effect.

For Sirius, though. Kumo damage is calculated by momentum. This does not mean that going faster will do more damage. But, it does mean that a heavier build needs to be closer to its top speed to deal optimal damage, which usually involves falling on your target. Also, the Kumo hitbox is angle downward, so being above your target is generally a good idea anyway.

But, because of the momentum calculation, it's generally a better idea to add weight, as 2000lb moving 100mph hits harder than 500lb moving 150. This is why many Kumo focused builds add an OW on the back. Also, the OW does expand your AC's hitbox some, giving your Kumos even more range.

Which, by the way, if you aren't hitting with your Kumos, switch to ACC spec ones, if you haven't already, because hitting people from 100m away is fun, I guess.

I just tested it, that's not the reason that they do that. If you put a shitton of weight on a biped, including an OW, the damage is barely any different. However, if you add a Grind Blade (or maybe Huge Blade, not sure) to a tetrapod, the base damage of the weapon will increase. A standing hit will do 5k, and an HB to Kumo will do 25k. If you nail the combo, that's around 50000 damage and usually more than enough to kill things dead.
This only works on a quad, and only with this specific OW. Simply adding weight by other means makes very little difference.
I also tested the whole"dropping down" thing. A drop-down usually doesn't break 10k damage. HBing and then sliding into an opponent while the hitbox of your blade is out does around double the damage, on both LBPs and Tetras.
The "perfect shot" seems to occur when you're slightly above your opponent and HB into them and then cut boosters as the hitbox is about to connect. It's apparently really fucking strict, but it allowed me to break 28k with a biped (testing on Erik, the Biped test target, who died instantly) using only one blade. I also managed to land it on a no-program UNAC tank I made as a practice target, but it wasn't at full health at the time.
I'm just asking if anyone knows how exactly you need to hit to achieve maximum damage and whether it's a timing thing or a specific angle.
The damage calc also isn't purely momentum-related. The game doesn't run a live calc of your speed and your weight, it just has specific damage amounts (likely weight-influenced) based on speed ranges. I.e. If you are around normal boost speed while hitting, you will get specific damage amount 1. If youa are around HB speed, you'll get specific damage amount 2. As long as you don't change the mech, every single hit performed using the same approach will always do exactly the same damage with absolutely no deviation.

Well, hey, if you don't want to take the word of someone with over 3 years' experience, both on the receiving end, and the sending end, I won't force you. If whatever you've found works better for you, for story mode, then by all means, do that. But don't say I never warned you when you run across a 4-man Archy-Kumo squad in CQ. (Though, if you stay on INT, it'd be a miracle if you found anything in CQ at all.)

Personally, I'm not a fan of Kumos. Only used them a handful of times. More of a Vendetta/Pile/kick person. But, I have fought many, many Kumo builds, so I do know how they work.

I mean, most of us don't really play the ACs you can still play anymore. Plenty of us played them and enjoy AC, so don't take this the wrong way, but most of the AC related content will have to come from you guys posting it. We all played Heavy Gear back when too, and various other mech games, but without new things to talk about (AC6) what can we say? We're mostly preoccupied with MWO because it's what we all still play.

Hopefully I'll be able to join you guys for some Armored Core scrimms next weekend, but I'm busy this weekend. I'm also very out of practice with ACFA or VD.

I'm trying to foster some discussion about it and doing my best to make you guys feel welcome but I can only do so much. The majority of the AC talk will have to come from you guys at the end of the day. As said, not because we don't have interest in AC, but since we aren't actively still playing it there's not much for us to talk about.

Whether you guys want to join us or not is fine. We'll be adding your stuff to the next OP, but you're of course free to continue to do whatever you want. We won't be going anywhere, and all manner of robot love will always be welcome over there. Some people post Heavy Gear Assault updates everytime there's something updated even though that game probably has less players than Verdict Day at present still.

I'm trying to git gud phys blading in online, and that's why I was asking. Sure, I'll give Accuracy Kumos another try, but you could at least give me an actual argument instead of being all high-and-mighty about it. Why are they so useful? The hitbox is mostly large enough on power tune, in both actual fights and testing (in my experience). And I'd rather not sacrifice a third to half of my damage. Is it because the double hit is more consistent to land?

And I'd like to migrate to JP but I'm not exactly sure how to go about that as a European. It's not that important of an issue right now though, I've got a couple people whom I can play on INT with.

The Rosenthal and Independent (Rayleonard) mechs start with a blade. Both are actually really good, the Rayleonard one is the second strongest. Short as hell though.
Can you buy a chaingun or other high-ammo shoulder weapons? All you can do in this case is load up your AC with a fuckton of firepower and hope you don't run out.
If all else fails, beat the first enemy in the Arena. Don't worry, he's really easy. He will give you some physical blades. They're terrible, but they don't need any ammo. Put one of them on and rely on your shoulder weapons and other hand to get to the big units, then just go right up to them and start punching.

The main reason ACC Kumos are more reliable is simply because of the range. You won't one-shot many things outside of a super lightweight, but trust me, the range is night and day difference. If you can consistently hit with power tuned, then go for it. But, yes, ACC tuned makes all hits much, much easier to land. Add that to the fact that you can cancel out of the animation at literally any point, and have unlimited tries, and you generally won't have issues making follow-up shots. Most opponents will die in 2-3 attacks, depending on how good of a hit they are. And in an online match, where you can land those hits within 5 seconds of one another, that's usually more than effective enough.

Popular opinion is: If you want safe, reliable melee, use either Kumos or an OW/Shield kicker. If you want to one-shot people, use a pile or an OW/Shied kicker with select legs. If you want style points, use laser blade. If you want to be laughed at, use Vendetta.

Well in the first playthrough you are forced to do the leagues ending, but after that you can do the rest, but really, stop, do ORCA first, get money, buy everthing, and then you can do carpals if you dont want to get stuck and withouth the parts to cheese that one.

Just use weapons with a higher ammo capacity, or use area of effect weapons like grenade launchers to take down multiple mooks in single shots. Personally I just drop into a group of mooks and blow them all out with assault armor, then I pick off the next group the traditional way until my PA recharges. Then it's back to assault armor on the next batch of enemies and so on. When I get to the end, I just discard my rifles and switch to my reserve blades which let me drop the things almost instantly, especially if I hit them with an assault armor along the way.

I've never been able to use the phys blades in VD and I've never seen anyone else use them either. When I go melee I always run with dual moonlights. Yeah it's the obvious build but it's been really reliable for me.

I find it hard to believe anyone at all uses phys blades to be honest. Must be a JP server or PS3 thing, because everyone else on the 360 seemed to be into lasers blades.

Almost all the "kneel down to fire" guns suck absolute dick. Some of them are okay if you are in a tank since you can move while firing are okay like the auto-cannons and some of those big single shot cannons. But for normal AC's they suck.

Gattlign Guns got a pretty big nerf in VD and arent the be all end all weapons anymore since the shots bounce right off lots of stuff now. But they are still nice to pack around on missions for when you just need to start mowing things down as fast as possible. Alot of the rifles are also very good weapons.

I honestly hate the defense system in AC5/VD. You cant mix and match parts like you could in old games to look cool and have decent stats. Now you need to build to get good stats, or youll die instantly to whatever defence stat you are weak to, which is bullshit.

Basically mix and match parts until you get a good mix of all 3 defense types. For whatever magical reason they decided that certain part types would specialize in certain damage defense types. Like heavy cores and tanks specializing in thermal damage for whatever reason. Its pretty dumb.

If you really really want to use certain parts and you find that your defense is pretty low in one area, just take a shield for that defense type and pack it around on your shoulder, and pop it out when you go up against something thats shooting that damage type. This can really really help on missions where you know youll be fighting dickwad enemies firing lots of lasers at you.

Depends on what you like. And shoulder slots are greatlly affected by what arm type you are using. Taking arms with 2 shoulder slots basically doubles whatever should parts you take. So if you take the ammo boosting shoulder part, and your arms have a should slot in each arm, you get TWO of those ammo boosting parts. Same for missiles. If you arm stats say they fire 6 missiles, it means itll fire 6 missiles FROM EACH ARM.

I found I really liked the medium missiles, since while they were a bit heavy, they packed a really good punch in damage.

I also looooooved the ones that fired bullets/lasers. I forget exactly what they are called, but they are just like having the old EO cores in the AC3 games with the little drone that would pop off your core and shoot things. Only now it just shoots out of your shoulders. Its like having 2 extra guns firing when you turn them on, and they mow down enemies fast as fuck in conjunction with your normal guns.

Boosters, honestly just trial and error until you find ones that feel nice for how you play. Just pick out all the ones with the best stats and then narrow down your chouce from there.

And generators, same thing. Theres several good ones, but each has a different purpose. Theres a couple gens specifically for using Over Weapons though, I think theres two of them. And if you want to use Over Weapons, use the core with that car door welded on the front, since it has the best stats in the game for helping Over Weapons charge up faster.

Okay, first things first:

All weapons are viable, if you know what you're doing. Cannon-type weapons really don't have much of a place outside of tanks, as anything non-tank has to be completely stationary, and scoped in, to use them. The only exception is a sniper cannon on a quad, because quads have an exclusive feature that allows them better fire rate with cannon-type weapons. But, a good sniper cannon tank can, and will give a quad a very strong run for their money.

Probably the easiest weapons to use are battle rifes and rifles. Rifles are very simple, deal decent damage, but otherwise lacklustre. Unfortunately, most online opponents you run into will have high enough KE defense (as KE is the most abundant defense stat across all frame parts, just as KE is the most abundant of all damage types across all weapons) to where a rifle really isn't going to punch through. Battle rifles, however, all deal fairly high enough damage, to where most people aren't going to block them out, unless they're on a quad. Compared to rifles, they do have far less muzzle velocity, slower lock speed, and much less ammo. But, they hit hard, and if you're good at manually aiming, they have almost zero damage drop-off, so you can cross-map people for about the same amount of damage as if you were in their face.

From there, laser rifles and sniper rifles are both very solid choice, but a little more tricky to set up. Sniper rifles generally require dual shoulder subcomputers to work well, as they have a very slow lock speed. You can blue-lock, but you really, really have to know what you're doing for that to be successful. Laser rifles, on the other hand, don't really require any support, but they do need to charge up, to achieve full damage/muzzle/etc. It's not all that complicated, but it's more complicated than the point-click of a battle rifle or rifle.

Everything else has a use, and can be viable, but will take more time and practice to use effectively.

If you're using slower locking weapons, subcomputers help greatly. Otherwise, CIWS is a decent missile defense. Ammo boxes are self explanitory. Most of the missiles are usable, but some are better than others. I don't generally use missiles, so I won't try and weigh too much into that. Just stay away from the UAV. It's fun to use, but otherwise pretty worthless.

Easymodo = Suzumushi/Shinatsu (xxx-309 high accel boosters). You will literally have infinite energy on anything you put that combo on. You won't be able to outmaneuver someone with a more advanced power setup, but you will be able to permaglide away from them, or infinitely high-boost. Ho-Vital (I forget its VD name, but it's another high output gen) will perform very close to Suzumushi, but without the absolute infinite EN. Other boosters worth using are Tokonatsu, for a higher powered, more EN drainy Shinatsu, or the other high-accel, for less drain than Shinatsu, but slightly slower performance.

Again, most anything is viable, if you know what you're doing, but I'm mostly listing off things by ease of use.

Generally speaking, you're going to want to focus more on defenses over speed, especially if you aren't very experienced. Your main defense will be determined by your legs.
KE: Light and Mid biped, and Light reverse jointed.
CE: Quad and Heavy reverse jointed.
TE: Heavy biped and Tank

From there, you generally want to use head, arms, and core parts of a different defense type, to give yourself more rounded defenses. I won't go into too many specifics, but if you really want well rounded defenses, use a mid biped with CE arms and legs, and a TE core, or a heavy biped with KE core and CE arms and head. You can get well rounded defenses on a tank, but you'll be so slow and fat, you'll basically be a big fish in a barrel.

It is worth mentioning that each family of parts has unique benefits, but most of them won't really matter until you get to the point of really tweaking/fine tuning your build.

That's about what I got for building basics. If you need more details, or more specifics, I can do that, if /acg/ doesn't mind me going all text-wall and shit. But, for now, I'll leave it as is.

What Weapon Arms, Tanks, HBP, and Ready Weapons are generally condiered "good"?

Building a few configs for VD and I'm sick of "3 rifles+shield/target gun" so I'm gonna build a tank, and a sentry gun build for sure. I wanna mix it up soime.

The only tank legs worth using in VD are the light ones. I forget their VD names, but the one at the top of the list that isn't the Junk part, and then the one that has the Salvador Keene retrofit.

What weapons you want to put on that tank are up to you. If you want long range, laser cannons are decent (rails are fuckin' worthless). If you don't mind learning how to manually aim, sniper cannons are devastating. KE cannons and heat cannons are both capable of high damage and stunlocking, but heat cannons are generally better for both. Autocannons shred things up close. Howitzers are very, very good, but require time to learn how to use them, especially without blowing yourself up. If you're looking for specific part names, sorry. Again, I never bothered to learn the VD names, and truth be told, I've kinda forgotten a lot of ACV names as well. Mostly just recognize the parts based on look and stats these days.

As for weapon arms, the heat cannons are good damage, with godlike tracking while locked. All 3 missile arms have their own merits. Everything else is pretty much just style points, and better off replaced with real arms and weapons.

I don't do HBP. Can't stand the lack of 'hops'. But, I hear that Tolima is decent, if overused/overhyped by certain people.

I have to contest this. I'm no tank expert, but I get much better results with KE cannons because they actually have muzzle velocity. A 0-0-3 tuning of the HEAT cannon with the highest starting muzzle velocity still has less muzzle than a 3-0-0 Strekoza.
But to be fair, HEAT cannons will eat other tanks alive.

Fair enough. I haven't really touched KE cannons since ACV, as they got nerfed hard in VD. Though, Knockers are fun as shit. As far as muzzle goes, though, heat cannon muzzle doesn't matter much if you're point blank, as you should be with them.

I made one of these as a joke with my friends and it turned out to be pretty savage in PVP when we base our entire strategy around it. I forget the exact parts, but it's basically:

>2 sentry guns (missiles and MGs, but you can use whatever works for you)

>dual gatling guns on backup
>quad legs to carry all this equipment while maintaining the mobility needed to drop sentries high up on buildings
Basically, you lock down the area you want to fight in with as many sentries as you can deploy. Then you switch to your dual gats and activate your auto attack guns. The result is that when an enemy enters your chosen battlefield, your AC alone will provide 8 guns worth of DPS all at the same time, as well as 5 targets that the enemy will have to engage. Your gats and auto guns don't even have to really hit the enemy, it's just the extra volume of fire added to the shitstorm of turrets. As long as you have another team member who can swoop in and capitalize on all the chaos, this somehow becomes a viable PVP build. It's especially dangerous in the tunnel map since you can lock down an entire corridor and force the enemies into fighting with their backs against the wall.

I used a build online alot with a single missile turret on my left arm. I would throw down some missile turrets on top of a building or behind a hill, and then rush in to fuck with somebody from another angle so that they'd have to deal with dodging shots from me as well as missiles flying in from the side.

At first they think the missiles are coming from you, but then they keep fighting and get hit in the back with a full salvo off a rooftop behind them and it really fucks them up when they have to split their attention onto being attacked from multiple angles.

Minimum defense for PVP:
KE 1500~1800. KE is important because it's the only attack type HARDEST to dodge because of its fast locks and fast muzzle velocity.
Spread out defense if you want to play campaign. You should be braindead if you can't dodge them attacks (except that beyblade spinning robot thing)
Spend the rest on CE or TE. DO not balance CE an TE. I suggest go for CE defense for the rest since not many fags are skilled enough on TE (except for laser cannon tanks or very rare encounters with plasma missiles. Just make sure you scan people what weapon they carry.

I stopped going to Armored Core Online around when AC4 was coming out.

EJRaven had got in touch with some Sega reps, and they said that since ACO was one of the biggest armored core fanbases they'd love to work with ACO on relaying info back to FROM on balancing ideas for patches, and all sorts of other "too good to be true" shit. Then AC4 actually came out and Sega cut off all communication with ACO.

Everything went to shit and I was just like, blegh, the community just started bleeding out and going else where.

I am too. I still have the model. It was my first ever AC kit though, and I didnt glue very much together. It fell off a shelf a few tims and lots a few tiny fucking pieces there were thinner than a goddamn toothpick.

I have a bunch of other AC kits, but Ill put them together when i have an actual bench to work on and a nice place to display them. Ive got like Jack-O, classic Nineball, Nineball Seraph, and a bunch of For Answer kits and weapon packs that I can pull parts out of to make my favorite Arena I used all the time in FA.

My main problem was booster heat being retarded, which basically forces you to tune all pieces for cooling and forces you to pick from limited parts, everything else was just Last Raven with slightly less polish.

Booster heat was a bit troublesome, but I fucking loved Nexus. It has always been my favored Armored Core, due in part to the updated control scheme.

I'd especially point to the "Revolution" disk bonus content. Maybe the game itself isn't so long, but they paired with it dozens of remake missions with a variety of unlockable parts and content.

It wasn't even DLC, it was a just a bonus disk that shipped with the main game that synchronized with your save from the main game. I wish more games did that.

I remember I just kept shooting it until a big piece fell off. Then I realized I must have been doing damage to it so I just kept killing it until it died to death.

Answerer was such a cool fight with how thoroughly you can take it apart piece by piece. I wish the other Arms Forts were more like that.

Back then, i shot down the generators on top, took out the missile pods or whatever their called and shot the core.

Nothing, until i gave up and used a filthy laser blade.

I figured out to shoot down the spikes on Hard Mode.

Felt like a champ.

I still find it strange how the game suggest Motherwill was nearly unbeatable and then in the same timeline we got gud and beat the Ultimate of ULTIMATE, Answerer.

I mean.... considering the fact that Strayed would died had Ostdarva not been there during the Link Ark mission and White Glint couldn't take out Motherwill. It's just... wow, where did he obtain so much power in a short time?

Otsdarva jobbed though (literally). He wasn't any help at all on that mission, especially not on hard mode (which is usually the more canon/complete version of the events taking place).

Strayed was just always a badass from the beginning.

It's whatever story you want. They don't try to give Strayed any character like in AC4.

It might be reasonable to assume that Strayed has Leonemeccanica or Interior Union ties since he's working with Kasumi. Then again, she doesn't display any particular signs of allegiance towards them during FA so that's just grasping at straws really.

I think that's only implied from the people who don't know much about it. They just assume it's strong because it's big and imposing. During the mission briefing to take it down, your clientele even says that it's an outdated model and that BFF are a bunch of gay ladyboys for thinking it was a good idea making such a piece of junk. Then again they knew about the vital weaknesses in the structure.

White Glint > Strayed

Motherwill > White GLint

Strayed > Motherwill

Strayed > All

White Glint > All

I don't care what you say, WG would have defeated Strayed if Otsdarva wasn't there. It's the only NEXT in the entire story that is suggested to be too strong for any 1 on 1 situation. But oh.... send me to my death alone ala Answerer, 2v1, 5v1 at the end. The power rankings in this game is so weird to me. Or maybe I need a better understanding.

Where is this implied at all? If anything the two are evenly skilled since they're both player characters.

Otsdarva was completely irrelevant to the White Glint battle, he jobbed hard on purpose and can't be assumed to have been much of a help. Also, White Glint probably could have beaten Motherwill if he had the same League level of intel that Strayed had going in. In the into scene, White Glint is getting bogged down fighting Normals and helos instead of targeting the turrets. It was probably just a blind and hopeful rush and might even be the mission where Motherwill's weakness was found, but White Glint was unable to exploit it due to depleting his resources.

And that he goes down to Otsdarva and CUBE, both of which you beat.
And that he immediately goes down like a chump to CUBE's "Plan D," whatever that is.
