I really don't know why more people haven't gotten either of these, and spend hard-earned cash on trainers, instead. These guys have easy-to-learn, hard-to-master flight characteristics, simple engine startups, simple weapons, and the F-86 in particular has rudimentary radar-guided weapons and early-model Sidewinders to play with. Coincidentally, the F-86 is very good at teaching you the concept of compressor stalls every time you fly through your own missile's trail

FSX taught me how to use VORs better than ground school did.

Also, I've only ever flown by GPS, as the chopper I fly doesn't have an OBS in it.

The UI for the GPS is very similar to how a VOR works, though

Questions for anybody who hosts BMS

I've been hosting the last couple of days, and there seems to be 2 problems.

1: AWACS says different things to different people. One person will request picture, I'd hear clean, he'd get vectors. My guess is this is because we have "calls use bulls-eye" not checked?

2: As the host, the other players say my gear stays down all flight, and my lights stay on. I see them as up and off, but the other players say they are down.

If you know anything that could be causing this please hit me up.

I am using the DMZ shit instead of full port forwarding, but I don't think that'd cause it.

>MiG-29 updated external model and PFM is announced.

Christ ED. A full fucking year to fix a FC3 aircraft.

More and more people are starting to realize how much better the Fulcrum is than the Flanker in DCS.

No shit ER's, R77's,god tier thrust to weight ratio, no exploding on turns, fastest jet in the game, built in ECM, etc.

Just fix my cockpit (counter measure and ECM indicators) and give me my PFM and external model and I'll be happy.

I can only imagine how much better the MiG-29 will be with the PFM. Its gonna be insane.

You fucking dumbass. You've got 4 buttons on top in all four cardinal directions same as you'd find on a 4 way hat.
You've got 4 buttons on the base that are reachable by your left hand. DCS allows up to two modifiers per function meaning you have 10 shift states and an unshifted state, meaning you have 11 potential "hats" or 44 potential buttons.
Include the remaining two base buttons (although I'd just map them as centre track IR and landing gear without modifiers) and you have 66 potential buttons; include the trigger and you've got 77 potential functions you can map to your stick.

Get your shit together!

>>
>>141902780

It should retain its incredible climb rate, but should also become much more agile in the turn without losing all of your energy instantly.

It also should be easier to trim. The Su-27 is as unstable as aircraft come. The Fulcrum won't have that problem. Its trim will be easier because the current trim is way to sensitive.

It also won't snap or explode when turning. I don't think the MiG29 has a g limiter, but the famous quote is that "The pilot will break first"
>>
>>141935767
You've still got shift, ctrl and alt, giving you 6 shift states (plus one unshifted) meaning 7 potential "hats" or 28 buttons on top. Include all the other buttons and trigger and you have 77 mappable functions.

>>
>>141944773
You can't remember 6 different combos with 3 buttons on the keyboard?
If you include the slew hat, the warthog has 7 hats, you can safely ignore the mic hat (just use the keyboard) leaving you with 6 hats. You map the 4 buttons on the top to the DMS, TMS and CMS using one button shift states, you map the coolie hat, slew hat and trim hat to the two button shift states, the unshifted buttons you map to master mode, pickle, jammer and pinkie, you map the base buttons to airbrake, boat switch and china hat. You use the keyboard for the autopilot button (or shift trigger).
>>
2bh I never understood why people bind every single thing.

I only bind HOTAS. Everything else I click on, because that is more realistic to me. You actually learn the cockpit and the switches and buttons.

Having a fuckload of key binds with modifiers is just advanced FC3 if you ask me. It's just a couple more buttons. What's the point of a clickable cockpit when you have a bind for everything?

It's faster. IRL it'd take you a moment to click on something, without having to look at it.
>>
>>141949361
I bind HOTAS and switches you use ofter (Ex: Autopilot in the A-10 or the afterburner switch in MiG-21) because IRL it's easy to just take your hand off the throttle and hit it, but other than that, you're right.

FLOT SEAD is mainly done with artillery attached to army units and everything in their AOR and FSCL is theirs. Everything beyond the FSCL is the AF responsibility.

CAS missions in check in phase have a critical section where you need to brief the aircrew of any friendly active arty units, their maxord, and GTTL.

Read my whole sentence and try to understand that SEAD is not 25T dependent. SEAD is a wide term that mostly gets used when somebody uses HARMs but this is false.

SEAD can be done with A-10C's and any other plane/helo with ground ordnance.

I told you that we wont have fun with HARMS. And while the AGM-88 is also named HARM its also a class of missiles which the 25T uses.
>>
>>141953489
Read about the Yom Kippur War and how the use of air SEAD only was a disaster for the IAF. The IAF received so many air loses it could not continue its air operations and the air war came to a halt.

The IAF reevaluated the situation and it came to a switch in strategies. They started using infantry(!!!) and arty for SEAD and it turned the tide as SAM crews were not prepared for direct infantry assaults. The war showed the full effects of joint doctrine and its lessons are taught in every support branch of the military.

Did they have any sort of HARMs or were they trying to kill SAM's with conventional bombs?

You should play BMS with us because you can do exactly that.

Flatout 1, 2, and Ultimate Carnage are on sale. I remember playing a bit of the first one. Are the other two any fun?

Their main ARM was the AGM-45 Shrike and I know about the theater and missions in BMS.

The Korean variant is also covered in Kruases videos:

Time to put the bird to bed for the night after a long day of slingloading and shooting white phosphorous at civilian buildings

Also, the willy pete rockets are supremely disappointing, they're literally only smoke rounds

They also forgot to photoshop him getting sucked out of the window, him and his iphone going through the turbine, causing a flame out and crashing the plane with no survivors.

Not much to say. Only air racing I had was the I-16.

It had a variable pitch prop, turns hard but cruel spin characteristics. Excellent acceleration and roll rate makes it a very hands on plane. It also sideslipped quite a bit.

>>142016592
>“It captures all the excitement of the air race,” Kleiber says. “It’s got all the tracks and courses that are going to be flown in 2016, all the pilots. All the planes, very realistic flight models, but it’s designed to be very accessible to all PC gamers. And it’s free to play.”

Not much of a dogfight, to be fair, considering it was an AI and it didn't have guns, but I wanted to see if I could use unguided rockets against an airborne enemy successfully, and if AI chopper gunners targeted enemy choppers

>tfw haven't been flying in almost a month, again
>>
>>142027480
What does that sticker mean?
>>
>>142027817
People were going flying without signing off that they inspected the rotor blade for delamination.
>>
>>142028676
WHY
>>
BMS ops WHEN
>>
>>142032576
Because 15 minutes of time saved is worth it.
>>
>>142032576
Laziness and lapsed judgement, mainly. They think they can skip it thanks to the blades having a 2,000 hour shelf life, but those 2,000 hours go by quickly when over a dozen people regularly rent the thing.

For me, I have a few points I always, absolutely check, even if I'm just stopping over to refuel: Engine belts, fluid levels, and the rotor blades.
>>
Also, mountain flying is significantly more fun than flying over flat terrain in my humble opinion.

Real Flight 2016

It has the best flight model on the market and incredible systems modelling, but it's expensive and most of the planes and choppers don't have any weapons
