So, more stupid scaling and more gameplay options removed. And you call that "challenge"? This is sad, and only sad. Taking away gameplay instead of creating real, fair challenge isn't the solution. It just makes things worse, as the past 2 years have shown.

This game has no challenge. Because this game has no real balance. Enemy scaling is stupid on both ends, with enemies either too weak or outright overpowered stats wise, CC abilities are OP for anything that isn't downright immune to them, which simply breaks a great many frames since they can't do squat without their CC abilities and instead of balance we just get either immune enemies or the devs remove gameplay options by taking away what counters their beloved broken scaling, and let's not even talk about damage based abilities. I'm sorry DE, I truly am, I want to love this game not "just" for its aesthetics, music, awesome quests we got lately, or it's nervous and intuitive gameplay (when you don't take it away from us of course...), I want to love it for the true, fair challenge it brings. And it simply doesn't "bring it". It never has. And I'm starting to think it never will. Which saddens me greatly.

Harder tasks should get better rewards.
That's why most of us here don't do any long sorties (survival, defense, interception in a row, fuck that noise).

Now, if there was a "transmute 4 T4 tower keys for a random T5 key that gives vaulted stuff" we'd be all over that shit. And we'd try to stay for hours in T5 Defense/Survival/Interception for a chance of getting vault shit.

There should be more rewards, like Mobile Defenses should be giving two rewards on completion, and the game should allow more infinite progression (like, 1forma = 5% more damage done on a weapon, slap 10 forma's there and it's bangin, or if you level Focus slots up you get a 2-second reduction on cooldown).

What this game needs is things to do once you maxed out everything, so mods should delevel, and fomra'd polatirites should degrade/swap into other ones over time (like 5 days). To compensate for the increased drain of Froma and Cores, more forma BP and upgrade cores would be seeded into A and B roations (keeping C "clean", since we dont want to turn this game into a grindwall), and to have a better chance at them, they should add an another B rotation for a "AABBC" one.
You can also buy "stabilizers" for plat on the market (non tradable) that preserves whatever its applied on for a week. Hell, you could even subscribe your items on it so you would be automatically cahrged every week for each item, so you dont have to micromanage, and can focus on the Fun gmpelay!

That's because they're scared of what's already been around, the game's powercreeped to fuck and back, and if you'll notice, most of the new mods we've gotten are straight shit or useless compared to old nightmare or corrupted ones.

Now, they should add auto-correcting mechanics like allowing players to upgrade themselves with infinite-upwards grinds to fight against infinite-upwards enemies, while leaving a normal, okay game for the shitters.

Their notion of balance is thrown out of the window as soon as a high-level, geared out player joins a low-level mission and a low-level player joins a high level one.

Imagine if you wore a "Dragon Key" that allows you to make 8-tenno teams, but doubled enemy level; so those level 35 enemies on Ceres went to 70, or made Sortie missions go to 200.
This Dragon Key would give you 2x rewards or someshit, but would be both challenging and interesting, and increased rewards = less grind for good players and bragging rites.

For fun, Dragon Key-kinda items that reduced your damage by 33% but gave you 50% more ammunition reserve or magazine size, or one that increases your damage but lowers both mag size and ammo reserve (a 1-shot tonk with a smaller ammo pool is still a good tonk).
Or having two free slots gave you access to your Archwing weapon on a ground mission, but lowers your overall mobility by 40% (even if archweaps are shit compared to ground weapons).


Instead of being scared of not making hard-enough content, they should give us more toys to experiment with; and make two kinds of content, the shitter kind for normal, okay rewards and the hard kind, for double rewards. They can even leave the really big challenges untested and have the players crack them somehow instead of giving mild events that we destroy in hours.

Problem is, they CAN'T make challenging content, even disrgearding their ineptitude.

There are so many ways to reduce the enemy threat level to zero regarless of any "non-bullshit" dificulty they can conjure: Invisibility, covert lethality, one of the dozens of forms of CC, globe, INSANE weapon dmg, unlimited energy, unlimited healing, perma partywide 99% damage reduction, and literal fucking invicibility, just ot name a few)
So they NEED to resort to bullshit restricitions to add even the slightest hint of chance for the enemies to at elast get a shot off before getting obliterated (invicibility phases, immune to any forms of CC, turns off abilities, perma 0 energy) which not only negates mecahics most of the frames relies on, but negates any kind of though or effort a player CAN put into overcoming obstacles. I mean what he fuck can you do when your weapons dont hurt them, and you can't use your skills?

It's arguably pointless, since you're mostly gonna be relying on your carrier to just vacuum up loot.

But that being said, it can actually put out some pretty solid damage for mid-tier content. So it actually functions as a decent deterrent to butchers/infested/moas constantly bumrushing you in certain scenarios.

Most guys will tell you not to bother, but I say go for it. Sometimes it's nice to have every possible source of damage at your disposal maxed.

The way I see it is as an ability of certain troops. The moment you use it, your camera shifts and you play as the roller or osprey, leaving your main body unprotected.

As a Grineer, you could build a wall, crouch behind it, and set a roller down. You can then move the roller around a conjoining area to scout it out or take out unsuspecting enemies with self-destructs before shifting back to you main body and running out when it's safe.
