Ended up making an ak74m with rails for whatever reason (rails come from stcop ak74). Also got an aimpoint t1 from that model I guess, so now I guess I'll get around to adding both the aimpoint pro and aimpoint t1. At this point I've collected too many sights; I don't want to push weapon soup off THAT much. I'll probably release a sight addon for it once I get the ekp and ac11090 added so people have some shit to play with.

Eh, I broke and started just going through all the optics. Right now I'm attaching shit to the an94. I was reading the above about wanting a 7.62x25mm Bizon, and while the caliber swap is easy enough, trying to get the game to reduce the magazine cap from 64 to 45 causes a CTD every time.

What makes Monolith such good warriors? I mean, they outperform an average stalker while having twice as worse of a gear as, say, an average Army Warehouses loner, guns that jam between each shot and fucking holes in their boots. Sure, some take care of their weapons, but do they really have time to take care of their gear between their twelve hour praying sessions? Anyway, what they have, that the average loner doesn't have, I think, is the fact that they have nothing to lose. I mean, they're like jihadists, they get happy if they die for the Monolith. Even rookie village stalkers have shit they want to keep, and shit to live for. Probably even moreso than others. Monoliths just don't give a shit. I've seen the fuckers lob grenades into buildings that had their own guys inside, just to root out a single exoskeleton Dutyer. Crazy shit man... don't go past the Army Warehouses.

I think the problem here is that you're assuming too much and I'm being too vague. I had an AK variant that if you used optics with you'd have to install them on top of the dust cover. If you know guns, you'd know that this is a bad idea for accuracy. Also, for night shooting, AKs should have a flip-up night sights.

The Zone is weird sometimes, man. There was this one guy... Lucky? I think that was his name. Apparently, he was the best stalker to get if you wanted to get through anomalies. He'd find a way through new anomalies in seconds, they say that he'd just walk right through it, and the Zone would form a way for him. Apparently, his stash was inside of a Space anomaly, where he'd hang out with his buddies, where he'd stash tens of artifacts he would have found in a single anomaly, even digging under dirt in random spots, he'd dig out artifacts. But, Lucky suddenly disappeared from the zone. Some say that there was an argument between the guys in his group that evolved into a shootout, and the survivors of the battle left the Zone.

Have you heard of the guy nicknamed Ironman? He's a legend with the Duty guys - a past member and all. He was a bit of an armor freak, as his name would suggest - he'd leave Duty, and for his work for them, they'd let him keep his exoskeleton. Only now did he finally get to improve on what was supposedly perfect. The guy put an extra 20 kilograms of metal on top of his Exoskeleton - he dedicated himself to being the assaulter of the stalker group that Lucky was a part of. He was unkillable - there was just no way of getting through his armor. My friend, Dima, saw him, once. Apparently the ground shook as the guy approached him. Ironman just told Dima to get to cover, and then proceeded to fight a squad of Monolith solo. He even took a rocket to his chest! All the bullets he was shot with seemed to fly towards where his heart was, though. Apparently, the guy has an artifact, which he nicknamed "The Magnet" - it attracts all things metal towards it, and, when they arrive at Ironman's armor, they shatter into pieces, no matter what. If anyone can survive a fight against the whole of Chernobyl, it's Ironman.

Little bit underwhelming. Gameplay and mechanics are a lot better than SoC, but the story, areas and especially missions are a bit lacking in comparison.

Scariest place in the Zone? It has to be the Red Forest. Well, I repositioned all of the weapons to play more nicely with high fov (though I didn't intend for it to play nicely at 120 or so which is what I took that pic at I think, so thats neat I guess). A long time ago I asked what people prefer playing on here and a lot said 65 but would go higher if arms didn't clip. So a lot of my repositioning for weapon soup was to deal with that I guess, but also try for a more consistent placement on screen for all weapons.


On a side note, merging these sights is tedious as fuck :| 9a91, an94, aek971, aek973, ak74m, ak74, ak101, ak103, ak104, and aks74u all have the new sights now (1p78, pka, and ekp since it wasn't included in stcop final). luckily world is easier since it requires less precision I guess. Also I made the aks74u able to use the pso, didn't like how it couldn't before.

Have pp-19 default as 7.62, then 9x18 and 9x19 as upgrades. This way the smaller mag is default, so the upgrades expand it, and should work. I don't think you can decrease capacity as an upgrade.

I guess I"m calling it weaponsoup. Just a weapon pack I'm throwing together for coc. Though I guess its main feature now will be sights, as I'm going through and making it so that weapons can use a good amount of new ones. ak variants get pka, 1p78, and eventually 1pn93, though I haven't been as focused on that one as I have enough on my plate. picatinny rails will have ac11090, ac10632, aimpoint pro, aimpoint t1, possibly docter sight if i feel like it, cmore, All sights except the 1p29 and 1pn93 will be 3d (with the exception of things like that awp). Well, I'm probably biased with Call of Chernobyl because I made my mod warfare for it which tries to emulate TFWs faction wars in a random way. Though I've been thinking about making a static lore friendly expansion set for everything.

But basically call of chernobyl is a modders resource that still has enough to play on its own, pretty much a fucking playground for modders. Its free play (so no story other than a resurgent monolith i guess) and comes with repeatable tasks and squads that will respawn and move throughout the zone. Has 23 surface levels I believe and then the labs. I'll probably work on some big task pack eventually, either for warfare or coc in general, to add a lot more to do.

Well, you can tweak warfare pretty heavily. You can have factions with really low expansion aggression so invasions don't happen super frequently, and then make respawn times high so they don't respawn very fast either. The main point of warfare is that the player doesn't really matter a whole lot unless they feel like assuming manual control, and even then its more of a suggestion for the faction AI at times. The biggest thing is probably that there isn't a whole lot to do other than the faction wars though right now. That's my next task for warfare - adding diplomacy and missions. But I'll take a look at that for sure.

On a side note, god damn, the ak74m with rails now supports 10 different fucking scopes. I guess I could make it 11 with the 1p29... 13 if I felt like adding in the ac11090 and acog for it, though having those sights seems pointless on a handguard rail.

You got a couple of options dude. First thing is if you changed the install path on the chernobyl mod, reinstall it and let it write to the default directory, stops some crashes and errors due to lazy modders. All mods should go into the gamedata folder in the chernobyl mods directory, not the original pripyat directory. As for mods, arsenal mod for CoC was pretty good, but I dunno if its been updated cause the old pastebin for it is dead. Give that a try and yell if it breaks.

Basically imagine Shadow of Chernobyl with Complete, except that's what the game plays like, STOCK. The graphics aren't nearly as good (if you want to install a graphics-only mod from the get-go to make shit sexy, go for it,) but gameplay/mechanics-wise CoP doesn't need jack shit, from what I've found. Not only can you pay people to fix shit, but there's an entire upgrade system which kicks ass. CoP really plays "out of the box" nice.

Anomalies aren't randomly scattered around anymore, they show up in "fields," and this is also where artifacts (re)spawn. So you have to whip out a detector and go feeling your way through the minefield to get your goodies, which is pretty fuckin cool. I honestly liked the anomalies anywhere thing in SoC but this mechanic is also great; I need to find a mod that has both.

Emissions are a regular thing now, they go off and you need to haul ass to cover before the blowout wastes you. Expect to end up in a firefight with bandits or whoever if they decide to head towards the same shelter you picked. Pretty radical.

Also some people on here will bitch and moan about Complete because they think it lengthens their e-peen (I inject my anti-rads MANUALLY, all MY mutant kills are FREE RANGE,) don't sweat it.

Jump into CoP either cold, or with nothing but a graphics mod for your first game, you will legitimately not regret it.

I am honestly curious to know what your legitimate reasons for not liking Complete are. I'm not even fuckin with you, I'd like to hear it in your own words. Yeah, I've read the pastebin, and a lot of it strikes me as "omg gb2CoD u casual" tier shit, but maybe I'm a gigantic fucking faggot who doesn't know shit, so, set me straight. I'm 100% open to being convinced, here. I'm going to play through SoC again soon and if you've got a compelling reason why I should ditch Complete and pick up a different/better mod, fuckin hit me with it, I wanna hear it.

To me, Complete is basically three things:

1. less goddamn annoying
2. better shooting
3. pretty graphics

#3 you can get with literally any mod so whogivesashit.png. #2 as far as I can tell cuts both ways, firefights are a bit less like lobbing nerf bullets (especially in the early game). And as for "less annoying," that's a split between convenience things (SEVA suit auto-injecting anti-rads, paying to repair guns,) and the "stealth" things... but I'll be honest, I never actually noticed a big difference with the "stealth" stuff. The game only has two stealth missions, and they were both a fucking nightmare to do without being detected, even *with* Complete, and trust me, I was being careful and shit. As for enemies not spotting you from long ranges, that's mostly a convenience thing; with Complete installed I didn't have to put up with ill-aimed potshots from half the map just trying to walk through the Dark Valley. It doesn't give much of a combat advantage that I can see, because when you engage someone, as soon as you wing the first guy (or even put a round past his head,) they zero in on you pretty quick. A silencer helps a lot, but even then they'll find you eventually. Found that out the hard way with that motherfucker with the SVD in Red Forest. Blurghf.

I did play SoC without the mod for a good while, so... what am I missing?

Well I've never heard of the increased item drops before. And I've never heard of any AI changes aside from limiting their vision range. I pissed off the military guard at the train tracks early in my first playthrough and having to dodge the fucking potshots they sent my way across half the map got really fucking old, really fucking fast. And, like I said, if you shoot at the AI, they "wake up" to you and engage you pretty quick, so... not sure what the problem is, there.

I actually don't mind lower accuracy; STALKER is one of the few games that actually seems aware that guns aren't magical laser beams in real life, and that MOA is a thing. Actually, after I installed Complete I very rarely got bandits or whoever on the ground wounded like I did in Vanilla, every shot seemed to kill them outright, or not at all. More accuracy is okay (because by fuck is the bullet drop/wider MOA exaggerated as hell in stock) but less damage kind of defeats the point.

Just answer the fucking question; does Complete really *decrease* damage AND increase accuracy? Because I'm not on board with that. That really IS moving things towards fucking CoD. Increasing accuracy *and* damage, (or just leaving damage alone, even) makes it easier to kill things, but also makes it easier for things to kill *you,* and you're almost always fighting outnumbered, so it should balance. You can play ironman, or not, then do missions (which are very basic at the moment).

Got some gud shit from them, namely this SV98, one AEK and one Abakan plus 3 or so artefacts. Made at least 30 grand bank off this loot.

More/changed quests (these really are quite nice, not to be underestimate), more graphic options, vehicles, more guns, gun/armor repair, gun modifications, medkits and other medications can have side effects and overdoses (if you take the cocaine/codeine med you can't sleep for awhile, even after the stamina buff wears off) and reduce in efficiency if you take them too often, vodka reduces psy effects, so far for me it has had complete stability with 0 crashes, you have to put ammo on your belt in the same slot as artifacts in order to reload. I'm sure there's more but those are the main things that come to mind for me.

That's the right rpk model. The ak models I use are kinda hard to find now apparently. They are from stcop final, which seems like the first version of stcop. Apparently they switched back to 2d scopes for some reason, maybe because they weren't as insane as I am. They also changed ak models for a lot of them: ak47, ak74, akm, ak74m. I think the others are the same though. the aks74 and akms in AO3 and stcop for coc I believe are the same ones I use though.

I wrote a custom loadout randomizer that works in a more random way than the current loadout randomizers out there. So weaponsoup will ship with a custom randomizer which I think people will find pretty nice. High ranking npcs are more likely to get high ranking weapons and more likely to get better scopes, but there is still a chance they could get something shitty (just very unlikely).

I'll add any new weapons I can over time. it's kinda fun for me at this point amassing as much as I can haha. Though to be honest, I want to work on importing weapons from other games next. I was able to piece together the rpk74m relatively well, so I'm thinking I'm gonna step it up here at some point.

Warfare will be worked on for a while after the initial release of weaponsoup as I kinda miss working on it. I want to make a lore friendly static expansion set that will make the faction wars work the exact same way as TFW, so I think some people will enjoy that more than the random stuff. But yeah, I play with weaponsoup, so any bugs I find I will fix, along with any others people bring to my attention.

So, the stcop traders are in fact trashed.

I saw that this was a bug with one the previous versions in a thread earlier, but it's long gone.

Anyone know what I need to do to fix this garbage?

Is there a way to uninstall a mod pack? In Soc and Cop i would just delete the gamedata folder and that was enough but Cock comes with its own files in gamedata? Anyway to do this without a reinstall? Pomogite Stalkere

The traders just stopped carrying a good chunk of their inventory.

I don't feel like grabbing a shot of it now, but the duty trader for example sells no weapons, armors, or anything other than ammo and food.

The picture I did take for that post is of the bandit trader, and he's got the biggest inventory of any trader in the game anymore.

I've always wanted to listen to the sounds the radios play on Lost Alpha. Something about them is just fascinating. How do I get the sounds from these files onto something more traditional like mp3 or WAV??

It's because of how the stock folds, the mount would get in the way (hence the switch to a sidefolder on the -74). Also (sorry sorry sorry...) I think the AK-9 should have a shorter barrel/gas system a-la AKS-74U, instead of the -100 series setup. I'm less confident on this part than the scope mount thing, though.

hmmm. it may not be realistic, but every other weapon pack has it (at least last i looked) and i feel itd be a source of frustration for some people. ill look into the ak9 stuff, though im a bit limited in what i can pull off unfortunately.

usually they are lower quality audio tracks, so i dont suggest converting them.

just get the name of artist + title and then hunt down the song online. pretty sure you can figure out the rest.

Those are ltx files. You need to find an extractor, extract the .db files, and look for gamedata\sound folder. There, all sound files should be playable, in .ogg format.
