Glad you like it. I am quite proud of it but I bet I'll have to destroy it later because I still ended up building everything too tight. I am trying to localize common supplies into little supply highways and combine supplies commonly used together on the same conveyors.

I am envisioning like a 4+conveyor wide "highway" filled with supplies. Then I figure you can just put all conveyors underground for 2 tiles and build a separator to route whatever supplies you need to the side for assemblers etc. - then put them back the same way, all conveyors underground 2 tiles except the one you're using, put a separator and make a 90 degree turn.

Couldn't make the helicopter version fly towards the waypoint, so i thought: "Maybe a 5-directional Jet will work"

Well, the thing is that i thought of upgrading the AA turrets and allowing them to have a shield by drawing the power from generator structures. I have even thought ways of having tons of engines in the tiniest amount of space.

It kept flipping so I had to make adjustments to see it in action. I lowered the recoil a bit, added some side weight, but I also made it ambphibious. I noticed it likes to get up close and spin around so I added the rams. It's still under 100 I believe.

I really want to try and not fuck up my furrymod playthrough from the start, can someone tell me I've forgotten anything with my plan?

Going to send tin and lead to a solder factory as the first thing off the bus, then bus the solder along with a mixed tin/copper belt for the circuit boards and a mixed lead/coal belt for batteries.

I'm only going to build off one side so I can add other materials as they're required, like silicon, titanium, etc.

The game itself seems like it's my style and i will play the demo, but it's apparent lack of "end game" or "hard win/lose scenario" in general, including the developer aversion to using combat as end-game, is off-putting... How viable is multiplayer at sustaining interest despite being coop-only?

In all honesty its fucking nothing. Their loot crates and crafting system is straight up inferior in every way to just being able to buy the parts you want. They just want to have a skinner box where people get crates with random parts and get that little bit of a high opening their boxes at the end of a battle, and extend the grind even further.

At least you can break down shitty parts you already have to make ones you actually want? But then thats basically just having a shop you buy parts from again? Its fucking stupid.

The only thing Im looking forward to is that mark said they boosted the health of all blocks by 25% to increase the TTK, which is abysmally low right now with people dying in literal seconds.

I figured out the map editor a bit more, and campaign should be playable atm, if severely lacking in content. However, I made the starting isles, and I made the way resource zones work on /egg/heim kind of unique.

There are going to be way more resource zones, and each will be pretty specialized towards one resource type with a few exceptions. What this means in practice is, most resource zones will only give one type of resource (natural, metal, etc) and what it gives will be dependent on where it is (Metal zones in mountain regions, natural on beaches/grasslands, oil in tar pits/oil wells, crystal in mountains sometimes, scrap almost exclusively will need to be smelted though there are a few zones that produce it). This is to promote exploration and expansion.

Oh snap you know I was thinking since particle cannons cannot be on turrets etc, at some point you should make a frigate or destroyer that has a few broadside PCs with hatches that open before they fire their beam lasers like in that one anime gif I'm sure someone here has.

Also, just a reminder to rig up your creations to work with AI, earlier I had to rerig both copters for the Sky Lords. I gave them hover LUA, but there was nothing I could do about the biplane. The floating cramcannon worked like a charm, though.

This planet is really coming together. We just need to start filling out the designs for the factions. I wonder if we should focus on early game designs for now?

And just as a reminder for anyone looking to try but not yet willing to buy From the Depths, if you acquire the game with less than legitimate means, you can actually still play multiplayer with other anons and shit so long as you have the most up to date version. Plus, your designs carry over if you do decide to buy it.

Also, I found out I can set how many hours in you see each design and after hour many hours will you never see the design again. What this means is we can have the planet have eras, and really have an organic development of weapons and the factions. It could allow for a wider variety of designs and will be especially neat once the ai can fight each other in campaign.

It might even be easier to organize designs in these terms so that we know what is still needed to be built for each faction.

I propose having the following eras, analagous to earth's development in terms of units introduced(some factions will get certain units/technologies faster than others):

Age of sail: As it says, sail boats, balloons, no super strong weapons etc, maybe even no tonks
CotE would have a strong advantage during this time. No cheesy super fast boats.

Great War: Introduction of rudimentary tonks, slow propeller planes, zeppelins. Ironclad botes

2nd Great War: Subs introduced (does not apply to Abyssantlantasia, they forever have subs etc). Newer, competent tanks for each faction, faster propeller planes, unguided rockets

They also removed GC from the game.

I had around 60,000GC from all my robot sales. But now its been converted into currency that can only be used to buy fucking crates, and premium time.

It says I now have $140 of currency to buy either crates or prem time with. Joy.

Also new players are apparently running into people with other super high tier shit like shotguns, and they get styled on because their income is now all about gaining parts through crates, which give you random shit, so new players LITERALLY cant build what they want to build.

I think this update is freejams biggest fuckup to date.

Don't use PID. Try saving the vehicle and restarting designer, sometimes the AI gets bugged and heads for the sky. Also try turning the maximum roll to turn angle to less than 90 degrees if you keep falling in the water.

I made a decent missile bait a while back. It was a tiny wooden box with dedi helis on top. Inside was a missile launcher with flares and some smoke deployers. The idea was that it would attract the fire of IR missiles in addition to missile interceptors and LAMS. If it distracted the enemy AA for a few seconds (it moved somewhat unpredictably and was supposed to be deployed over or near an enemy ship), all the better. Unfortunately I can't seem to find pics.

how about a faction of united intelligent marine lifeforms with biological looking ships with moving tentacles/fins (like the pirate prequod maybe?) with subnautical bases and turrets plus shittons of submarines (that get easily fucked by torpedospam)?

If any fall-of-civilization-scenario comes true, such skills would be of great value. Even if the world will not end in foreseeable future, you still can build simple, durable and reliable stuff. Well the issue is that fundamentally, the way computer hardware and software works and is made has completely changed. You didn't used to need clean rooms to do this shit. Game engines clocked in at under 20k lines and could be written by 1-3 people. People made their own expansion cards. I got a really nice taste of this coding for Ti-83s and interacting with that community, and the actual retrocomputing community looks amazing.

Two things I'd like to accomplish are building my own ez80 computer and building a discreet-logic 4-bit CPU. I would just like to have done those things when they mattered.

Think of it this way: The level of tech that people used to stuff into desktop computers has now gotten small enough to apply to robotics and embedded systems. How about getting into that? There's still a lot of ideas that can be explored in terms of working computers into everyday objects, and whole graveyards of failed designs to learn from. The millennial 'maker' current is frequently wasteful but can be a good source of ideas.

Huh, that actually sounds pretty cool.

Have you considered using VHDL synthesis to help you plan everything out? In college I remember doing a fairly well-equipped CPU with pipelining and dynamic instruction reordering in like 500 lines of code. A really basic architecture ought to be even easier with a HDL.

Aggghhhh! My game has the weirdest bug an I just lost my progress on the bus. I could move the camera but no buttons worked so I couldnt save. Ima restart my computer I had it doing 23 m/s and able to traverse most hills. It had spin blocks set up on the left and right side as a stop sign and a fold out door, that would extend when it rolled past a certain angle, to help minimize flipping on its side. It had one on its roof too, so if it flipped all the way it could push itself back up. Fuck. I don't feel like rigging that up again.

The blue fire all over the hull is caused by residue from the bugs butt blast, and its on fire because of the oxygen rich atmosphere rushing out of the ship.

It also looks like its burning so hot its igniting the rest of the air being sucked out of the ship.
