I play the game but I don't get involved with the waifuposting anymore. It was fun to mess with at first but then I realize it just makes the thread look messy and scares away newcomers who just want to talk about the game. Plus, it gives more ammo for the people who are saying that BB players are more interested in talking about the fan-service pics of the characters then the actual game itself. it doesn't give the community a good rep and leads to people not wanting to be associated with that sort of image which is understandable.

I find using burst for Overdrive is a better use for it, 632146 is a great comeback super, does extreme chip and barrier gauge.

As the other guys said, you probably really...REALLY don't want to play Amane though, has the most spacing specific combos I've ever seen in a fighting game and you will NOT be doing damage 90% of the time, has NOTHING for reversals and horrible defensive options, and his neutral is kind of hell. I doubt it. He's not that interesting a character personality-wise and he lacks any interpersonal relationships with the rest of the cast. This is the last game for now, and it's very unlikely that a new character's gonna dethrone too many established fan favorites. Ragna, Noel, Rachel, Makoto, Jin, Hazama, Terumi, etc. All these characters are just too strong personality-wise.

To be honest, I don't understand why you're so enamored with him. Even in the arcade mode alone, he's yet to show any character traits that set him apart from the rest. He hasn't done or said anything that makes him stand out.

It kinda sounds to me like you want him to be a likable character despite knowing nothing about him, which is very strange to me. Me, whether I like a character or not depends on what I see. I don't go in hoping for him to be likable before I get a chance to see what he's all about.

Two, it really is just a fact that the more screentime a character gets the more likely popularity will raise. If anything doubting that his popularity will rise is odd. He's not hated by the JPs after all, and he'll get chances to interact with the cast in the story mode. Unestablished does not mean destined to be uninterseting.
Enamored? Merely interested myself. His interactions with Ragna in particular, though few thus far, have my attention. Eager to see how those two play off each other.
Now if you're talking enamored, I'm already all over Super Snake, so yeah. Kind of the reason I picked all this up.

And the biggest factors in how popular a character is boils down to two things: personality and character interactions. His personality, in my opinion anyway, is dull as a rock. And as for character interactions, he has an upward battle ahead of him. Naoto isn't like other characters; he's literally from another world. Almost no one knows him. Among the few characters who DO know him (Relius and Valkenhayn), he was never close to either of them. This complete lack of pre-established relationships, especially in the for-now last game in the series, is gonna make things really difficult for him from a popularity standpoint because, as you probably know, character relationships and interactions really are often a huge part of the equation. A dull character might become popular purely due to the relationship they might have with another, more popular character. Of course, on the other hand, a character with minimal relationships or interactions can become popular just through the sheer force of their personality and charisma. Azrael, being a big, larger-than-life gorilla, is naturally oozing charisma. It's how he's made.

That's why I don't think Naoto will get very far. His personality is lacking in charisma and he has few pre-established relationships.. He's the popularity underdog.

Now I guess the divide in this case would be you saying Azrael oozes charisma while Naoto's dull as a rock, but like you say, I think that's just your opinion right now. Intimidating, super powerful condescending monster is not exactly fresh or new. Charismatic? Really, if it sells on you, sure. Some people just see him as dull for the fact he's all about a good fight and nothing else.
If Naoto amounts to nothing in terms of interactions in story mode, okay, he's toast, but pre established interactions aren't the key selling point on their own, and personality archetypes are received differently by person. If anything, the LN protagonist 'save all the women and beat up the bad guys' crap has been pretty popular for the past few years. What's left is a matter of execution come story mode.

Amane is totally viable, he is just weak in CPEX. Unfortunately the only really strong Amane player wasn't playing tournaments in back then..
His defence is, like, 0. He doesn't have ANYTHING that's not a universal mechanic. That's his biggest flaw for me.
He has troubles against rushdowns. They just get in his face and the only thing he can really do is 5B, and it's fairly shitty. Or jump, and while his aerial mobility and moveset are great jumping is always a risk.

Makoto act 3's end boss is Izayoi, Izayoi wants to kill Noel, Makoto can't believe this is Tsubaki and they fight, Relius then appears and says this Tsubaki is real and then Izayoi confirms that and that she's not from this world but another one that was destroyed by Noel.

Well if Mori chooses to you use alternate selves of the characters from other alternate realities to caused conflict in the story I wouldn't mind. It will drive the point of the world going mad and the despair that goes on because of the world heading to it's destruction. These alternate selves losing everything because Amaterasu has given up on observing their realities and going at Noel as mean of venting out their anger on her.

The Relius fight happens because he triggered Lambda by saying he'll just have to kill Ragna and she snaps out of her stotic nature and starts attacking Relius and Ignis, once again, somehow getting stronger than usual, course Relius likes this, as it confirms to him that even so called tools like Lambda or Izanami's vessel can and will eventually gain or regain their souls with time.

The problem with spells is that she needs to hit to use them. Kiting and zoning are focused on not giving a chance to hit.
Tracking overhead special is way too slow. If opponent would kite Nine on the edge of her hitboxes using it would be like using Tager's 2D when opponent is looking for it. And even if they would just block, it doesn't give enough advantage on block for an in. Barely enough on hit.
Now which giant dash do you mean? FURINOZOMU RAIDAR? It's - on block, not something you want to use in neutral a lot. Her teleports are a lot more useful, obviously, she wouldn't be quite as helpless as Tager prior to CPEX. But if opponent is looking for them they are still unsafe.

I don't know why you're surprised even, the japanese VA industry is highly competitive and has a much higher talent pool to choose from to pick appropriate roles. Not only that, but the standards to even get into it is even moreso.

BB is an incredibly high profile franchise in Japan, and a VA role in a game like that is valued over those for anime, as their wage is generally higher, and the role has more longevity for them.
