Got the launch details for Dark Brotherhood. Looks about the same level of content as Thieves Guild. I hope it has a little more replayability at least, something like Wrothgar dailies would be good.

Pretty certain the Dark Brotherhood skill line will not affect PvP whatsoever, so people can't complain this game is p2w.

Any class can heal. Templar have the most options for healing but other classes have minor unique heals (Sorceror pet healing, Nightblade siphoning) and you anyone can equip a Restoration staff as one of their weapon bars.

The biggest change that stood out to me was nerfing all shield durations to like 6 seconds. Sorcs are not gonna be happy.

The number of quests I come across is annoying. I go to a new area and every landmark has someone there to send me on errands. I can't tell what I have is even a main quest or not anymore.

Also main quest is the only quest that you cannot abandon. As a role player, I abandon annoying quests or quests that don't fit to my character. For an example, I haven't done TG or MG with my nord warrior.

Does anyone know how they're going to hand out CP once vet removal comes? I know that if you have a vr16 character but have less than 160 CP, you'll be given 160 - X CP to match your new level.

But I also heard that you will get 40 CP too if you're above 160 CP? Is that true? People with less than 160 CP won't get the bonus so it's best to get above 160 right?

I saw this on the forums of how CP might be added:

100 CP = 60 given, 160 CP total

159 CP = 1 given, 160 CP total

161 CP = 40 given, 201 CP total

just went to a dungeon today, first time
me as a dragonknight tank

how in the fuck am I supposed to tank? I try to aggro enemies by approaching them and attacking but they go to the rest of the party.

I use the one handed skill that taunts on every monster. It takes a while to "taunt" every monster, so in the meantime the party is getting attacked. Using talons is helpful for about 2 seconds or so but then we go back to the previous thing

Also, what should I do? do some skills then block like a motherfucker?

So I am part of the Daggerfall Covenant and I am in the first area still. My question is I feel like quests are starting to outlevel me, I am lvl 13 and I just killed Argof, which the quest was lvl 15. I have explored quite a bit, is there something I should be doing to lvl up more? I havent done the dungeon yet, will that level me?

Tanking in ESO is mostly tanking the bosses, because there's no aoe taunt. There are some abilities like the dragon knight dark talons which debuff the enemies by giving them -15% dmg. Later on in the undaunted tree you unlock the ranged taunt which is used a lot as well.

Every other mob is basically trash and your party should not be dying to them. You could use helping spells like igneous shield (which scales based on hp) to aid your allies.

DESU tanking is only absolutely necessary for trials (12-man dungeons). Endgame players can easily 3 DPS/1 healer or even 4 DPS everything else.

If you complete every quest, clear every delve, beat every public dungeon, destroy every dolmen and kill every world boss in zone you should outlevel the content. Check your world map for places of interest still marked black. Don't forget to pick up lore books, which raises your mage guild level (though they don't help XP-wise but you still want to get to Mage Guild 10 for Meteor).

If you do that, then you have to hope you just get gold mats. I have 4 characters that receive hireling mail and I get gold mats extremely infrequently, maybe once every month or so. This is only for blacksmithing, clothing and woodworking btw.

You'll be better off doing crafting writs in craglorn. Get your skills to 9/10 (if you have orsinium) or 10/10 (if you don't have orsinium) and do your dailies. You have a p high chance of getting gold mats and even nirncrux.

Yeah I ended up giving up on that, takes forever to get any crafting levels deconstructing since my main character is only 12 and you need to be 6 to unlock the crafting quests. It is generally accepted that Breton is good for Templar healer. Though obviously it will depend on what alliance you and your friends have chosen. Weapon wise is up to you, obviously healing staff for healing groupmates, but for questing it really isn't needed. You can focus on any weapon you want. At 15 you get the ability to swap an extra weapon, so you can have a healing staff and something else equipped. I personally like 2h weapons while questing for the dmg, since I can heal myself. But sword and board is fine too.

What this game needs is fully scaling areas, like in GW2. Since they have already done some scaling stuff, like dungeons and solo instances, I think its just a matter of time to implement that as well.
Another thing I would change is the dark anchors and small portals. I would make the small ones totally random and even appear in towns - ok, that would be too RIFT like if they captured areas or cities like this but why not. For the anchors I would do them scaling as well. The game would calculate the difficulty based on the nearby players strength and start dropping quite hard monsters, giving a small, "2 minutes dungeons" feeling.

There are many cool armors and ZOS keeps improving them. In the DB patch they make many armors to look better on beast races.

The leveling experience can definitely be played single player. Once you get to end game then obviously the best stuff is party based. That being said there are repeatable guild missions for thieves guild and brotherhood I believe.

The game is essentially skyrim style but online first person and third person view points and all. Another neat thing is you can steal and pickpocket from NPC in the game, heck the new expansion is letting you assassinate them for quests. The game has an amazing exploration, and leveling experience it plays very similar to other TES games.

Basically if you like TES games, and you don't hate the Skyrim playstyle, then this game will be worth it. For a MMO without a sub it is definitely the best one out.

I am a pleb myself since I don't have that much time to play so I play it mostly as a singleplayer game.

It has amazing quests and there's a huge amount of various quest lines. DLCs add so much content it's unbearable and the Thieves Guild DLC hyped me up for the Dark Brotherhood so much! As mentioned before, you can spend most of your time doing stuff in cities (RP stuff if you fancy) and not get bored. There's immense world waiting for you to be explored and you can also do a lot of fun achievments/challenges. It's the best MMO imo since you can play it however you want basically!

Apparently yes, a few people got banned but that was like a year ago. Nothing more recent. I'm guessing, or hoping, that it's safe now. Also, none of them got banned in the strict sense, they just made them buy the game again to continue playing.

I think they did pretty good job, remember 800 years before oblivion and the different art style. Though that gamma in TESO pics is way too huge, I read it's around 90%, when the default gamma is 50%.

I just started and I'm at the character creation and I'm a bit confused. I don't see roles mentioned with the classes. Can all of them be every role, is that it?

You can go a lot of different directions. nightblade tank, stam sorc, etc. Pay attention to the racial passives. You don't want a race with stamina/weapon damage buffs if you plan on running a magicka build. Hybrid builds aren't effective either (stam/mag). Breton good for healers, high elf magicka sorcs. Dark elves make good magicka dks. Redguard/wood elf/khajiit stamina nightblade.

Just do a little research before rolling your main character. I have a dark elf magicka NB and breton magicka templar. Enjoy both. Have a little more fun on my NB in pvp (running supreme cheese VD/clever alchemist burning through ppl with proxy dets and cold fires) and an easier time in pve with the templar.

I don't really know if there is any chest at the end of any dungeon but all dungeons drop personal loot so don't worry. It's only when people are stealing that it turns into a competition of who has faster fingers.

How freeform is this game?
I played Ultima Online years ago and enjoyed spending hours chopping up firewood and then wandering into Trinsic where bards would be spamming the same tune over and over while thousands of people got ganked outside the bank.

Sort of. All zones after the ones in your starting pact will all be level 50 yet have a different degree of veteran rank difficulty after them, and you'll be able to decide where you want to go.

So say you started out in the Ebonheart Pact. The changes mean that you can go to either Daggerfall or Aldmeri, however Daggerfall will start out with enemies be scaled after 10 champion points while Aldmeri have 80.

At least that's my understanding of it.

probably, I spent a long while running between chests in a specific area to get an armour set. I knew where some were close together in two areas of the map, so I would run a path between the first group, wayshrine over and do the second group, then wayshrine back and do the first group again, etc.

It happens sometimes, but I run through a lot of dungeons with randoms and it usually goes ok. Just on occasion you get THAT group, the one with the three pubs that always stand in the bright red insta-kill red circles. For those times I use Barrier , spam heals like crazy and keep a stack of Grand Soul Gems handy.

You talking about guild traders? Guilds can hire traders which can then allow other people to buy from you. If a guild doesn't have a trader, you can still list items but only people from your guild can buy them. You can only list 30 items per account, and it depends on the guild you're in if they have a minimum sales quota. The big trade guilds like in Rawl'kha have a minimum sales quota of 5k, but if you don't reach it you can donate money or buy raffle tickets of the equivalent amount.

Get the add on 'master merchant'. It graphs all the sales of the item you want to sell by people that have already sold it in your guild. To get the best results, join a trading guild because they will have the most accurate information.

Thanks to the responses. I know about Tamriel foundry and used to lurk there but I've had usual had such bad experiences whenever I've given it a go that I haven't bothered in months afterwards. Stuff like getting grouped with a bunch of v3-v6 people in a v16 dungeon and the like, or when people join as damage-dealers and can't deal any damage, makes me go back to doing worldbosses in Orsinium or go stealing shit instead.

Get survey from writ, have it in your inventory going up to the node spawn, when you reach the node put the survey into your banker before looting. Mount up ride a little distance away and repeat as many times as you want.

I already have this game downloaded and stored away from last year but now I feel like playing again, the download speed is sitting at 500kb/s and I got through one 3gb patch then it tried downloading the whole game but luckily it noticed I had it and zoomed past it, but I had to reset my computer when it was only at 4% and now it's back to 1%. Quick /tesog/, how do we fix stamina sorcerers?

So I've been hitting a rough patch and I can't dedicate time to play with my guild, or really anyone for that matter. What would you kind fellows suggest for a strong solo PvE build with the occasional PvP foray? I've been playing a resto staff nightblade drain-mage and it's been keeping a good face, but I'd much prefer to see things die a bit quicker while still being able to hold my own in group delves and whatnot.

Better options on a stam build however. WW is bursty but the damage runs out very fast on such a costly ultimate- it's like a worse stamina version of Overload.

FDB and Standard on a stam DK, for example, are irreplaceable.

Better off just taking it for the stam regen passives.

All racial passives should be nerfed in order to counter min/maxing with races. Orc's Swift Warrior and Imperial's Red Diamond could be reworked too. Nords should get stamina buff.
For the Saxhleel buff:
Quick to Mend should replaced with Shellback.

Whoever thought VR ranks was a good idea needs to get banned from making videogames ever again.

My impression was that VR was more or less just something would have to categorize how much they played. Maybe giving you a bonus when levelling other characters or something.

Not actual levels with skill-points and special gear only attained at a certain level. It resulted in people at v12 (as it was at first before it is as now, 16, and in next patch, replaced with Champion points) steamrolling everyone else in PvP.

The mentality of MMOs needing opposing factions is a damn blight. It's not even needed for PvP, they just need a bit of imagination, have an Arena, have border skirmish zones, let people set PvP flags as they see fit. I disagree. I played GW2 after GW1. In gw2 everyone is in peace and love and there are no opposing factions, but after the war the humans and charr had in the past, well...sucks, and makes pvp less believable. My first mmo was vanilla wow : 2 factions, friendly, enemy and contested zones - world pvp and not being able to understand the other faction's chat.Now that was something.

I'm interested in this game but more in a "more elder scrolls" and less in a "man I always wished elder scrolls was an MMO" way. I'm not exactly turned off by multiplayer, but its not why I'm here in this thread.

Given that part how is this game? Is it elder scrolls or is it WoW that's what I call an MMO 30? Can I do standard Elder Scrolls bullshit? How much control would I have over my character (weapons, armor, magic). Could I make a heavily armored mage, give my burly warrior a bow, sneak around with a greatsword and magic powers, that kind of bullshit?

Now that that's over how is the actual multiplayer? Is it intrusive? Does it add anything meaningful beyond dungeons you can't do without people? I don't care much about PVP, so don't worry about that.

You need to have a certain amount of traits researched for each armor part that you wanna make the set with.

Most people outsource their crafted gear to players that have been crafting since the game's release, since they tend to have all traits researched already. Just find a decent guild with crafters and you'll be good to go.

Magic spells in the game are somewhat limited in choice. However you can make a summoner build which is neat. As for your other questions, the multiplayer aspect has rarely gotten in my way of doing solo quests, there are mini events tied to "anchors" that promotes cooperation and rewards with some exp and a chest. Actual partying is not needed as long as you hit a mob once you get credit for it and can loot.

The game is very much an online Elder Scrolls game, you have a lot of control on how you build your character, and can steal, kill and do other stuff to NPC's. There is a justice system with a bounty as well as fences. Dark brotherhood DLC is coming out soon that adds assassination quests if that is your bag.

I did all the quests solo, from EP to DC to AD. There were occasional moments of brilliance. As a $20 game that is potentially cheaper depending on where you find your keys, it's worth it.

Too bad there's no trial option.
