Today I invaded two guys that took no damage, like if they had infinite health.

So, how do I get past the 2 dragons that breath FUCK YOU down onto me. I've tried running, but I get a face full of fire from the first one, and if I manage to get past him, there's the other that's breathing onto my face.

Is there an alternate path?

Specifically why is split damage worse than one damage type? Is it because split damage types take double the penalty from armor reducing the damage? Practically all of the elemental infusions come out with a higher attack rating than Raw weapons, but I'm guessing from the occasional asspain about the MLGS that this ends up worse than pure damage because of the above.

So now that I've beaten the game, I think it's safe to say that BB > DS1 > DS3 > DS2

DS3 was great, but it lacked the originality and cohesion of BB. Everything in BB felt tied together, with DS3 (and DS1 to an extent) all the areas feel disconnected since they're all so different. You've got the Giant Lava level and the ice level, then the castle level and the forest level. They're just going through the motions at this point. It was cool in DS1 because everything was interconnected, but not in DS3 because everything felt like a rehashed version of DS1. In BB, every area felt different, yet still in the same world.

Also, the first half of DS3 kinda sucks until you hit Irythyl, which is an awesome area. Level design I thought was a step down from BB and so was music, though both were still pretty good.

I also think BB had the superior weapon system. I'd rather we have fewer, but more complex/unique weapons.

Here's hoping that from sticks to original, single-instance IPs in the future. As good as the game was, it just felt forced in its execution, like From knew they HAD to do DS3 because they couldn't end it on DS2 and it would make them money, but it just lacks the soul/passion of DS1 and BB.

I think their servers are basically on fire at this point. 95% of my attempted summons fail, 3% suceed and get me in world only to have a connection error and boot me back out, and 2% work properly.

I've never once gotten a blue sentinel or darkmoon invasion in my 28 hours of play. They are completely broken at this point that I'm not playing until the patch in hopes this shit gets fixed.

Otherwise DS3 would have been a 10/10 but this online is so colossally shit that I'd knock it down to a 7/10.

You should be able to invade someone who's embered even before they find a phantom for help. It's part of the trade-off of being human.

If I'm forced to only invade in games where it's always 2+v1, it makes sense to work with the game's enemies to kill the guy and take his warmth. If he can turn my only advantage against me mostly at will while having double the estus and friends, it's kinda stupid.

So why exactly do so many mobs have extremey fast attacks that do insane damage and look like there is no force behind them but their slow huge start-up attacks do the same or less damage?

It really feels like they designed the enemies and then when players were destroying them their solution was to just pump up the damage on their fast attacks despite it making zero sense for them to do so much damage. So you have enemies with huge slow attacks that hardly rattle you and then they come out with a super fast attack that has less force behind it than a butterfly fart and it takes off half of your health.

So I have finally finished my first slow playthrough. FInished at SL60 odd. Don't know how much I skipped but never really felt underleveled/didn't lose any souls really.

Though one thing I didn't like is they took II's ideas for bosses, that is make them all really aggressive high damage hyper gywns. Mistakes should be punished but bosses shouldn't just spend all day throwing random huge combos at me all fucking fight.

I also spent ages with an non-+'d estus because I thought bone shards were going to do that shit that they did in II and NG+ the bonfires. Should have actually read the item.

Don't spam spinny move unless you're standing still and they run at you, don't use ebin finishing move unless you guardbreak them beforehand with the two spinny moves. Use spinny move as a punishing move. Hold the R2 with the giant sword for a little bit, usually they try to attack you out of it and then you can release for a hyperarmored attack.

Summoning gives you a higher priority for invasions. So invaders are going to run into groups more often than single hosts because they have a higher priority. You won't encounter a lone host unless there are no hosts with summons available to invade.

As far as I can tell, you don't get matched with someone who doesn't have a phantom. It's always 2v1 or more.

On the occasions I do get help, the guy ends up trying to fight me instead, so I have to kill him and then go back to trying to murder the host.

Outside of the clusterfuck that is the abyss watchers, you really only need one summon at most, when you go with two or three summons, especially if its not friends but random phantoms, it just turns into a "Who's getting hit now" clusterfuck.

Go around (Take the long path around) when you come up behind the spot where the worm spawns, start walking up until the worm jumps out of the ground, then look to the right, there's a person-high rock to the righ (right when you're facing worm)

Hey, I was really burned by Dark Souls 2. I only realized it was so shit at like 200 hours because I was blinded by my expectations that it would eventually get better.

Metal Gear Solid V received perfect 10/10s from people who only played 20 hours of it. So, I have made a pact to not buy Dark Souls 3 unless someone has explored most of what the game has to offer and can honest to god recommend it to me as a souls fan.

There isn't any Dark Souls 2 bullshit right? Basically, has anyone here reached the 200 hour mark or discovered a general idea of what the game is like and can you recommend it to a skeptical person who was burned by DLC Souls 2: Librarian of the Last Lie?
