Summon sign wise? Literally no idea. It's pointless as nobody will summon you.

Invasion wise? It's fucking great if you don't care about killing the host. You win by either killing the host or a certain number of phantoms based on how many are in the game. If you invade a host with a phantom then killing either counts as a victory.

Same applies to if a blue pops in or a watchdog/aldrich/Red. So long as one of them dies you win. It's really wonderful.

that's normal, katanas have had an undocumented special effect since DaS2 that gives them a hitbox bigger than their weapon model.

How to fix Mound Makers to ensure that they don't quickly simply stop getting summoned:

Reward the purple if the host gets to the boss.
Reward the host if a purple kills an invader.

That encourages purples to help out which makes them even less predictable.
It also encourages the host to trust the purple, which stops the covenant from dying.

The question however is what reward would you give? It can't be shackles but it'd have to be something slightly desirable, some randomised soul packet or titanite?
What would be the reward for the host?

Currently mound makers will not last long, people will simply stop summoning them.

There is no encouragement to NOT kill the host, one of your few loss conditions is if the host successfully reaches the boss, a covenant where you can help OR hinder but a helped host gets you NOTHING? No reason not to simply kill.

Likewise, because of that, there is no reason to trust a purple. The only reason to summon one is to kill them because you know that they will only get their reward when they kill you or your summons.

The covenant is meant to be mad, you don't know what they're going to do but due to poor forsight on froms part they are actually just reds with giant seed always active.

I didn't want to give up. I really, really didn't. But this is getting depressing.
Been trying out PvP in DS3. Having fun! Except that every single fight is 1v2 or 1v3. But that's okay! I can still try! I can either fight through them if they're idiots or I can just try to drag them into enemies and snipe the host!
Except that if the host wants, you can't. They can just sprint around between bonfires, summoning new phantoms every time you defeat existing ones, and there's no way to catch up with them. I just fought through six fucking white and yellow phantoms in undead settlement before the seventh killed me, and I barely ever got to attack the host the entire time. Anyone got any tips on how to deal with this other than inventing a device to murder people with hatred?

Oh, and p.s. why the fuck is a Farron Greatsword, a unique UGS, weaker per-swing than a Fire Longsword +4 by a huge margin. What the fuck man I wanted boss weapons to be good for once instead of useless shit AGAIN. WHY FROM.
