Why did they ruin Miracles so bad? They cost a ton of FP, they barely do any damage or healing, and the buffs don't stack with weapon skill buffs like Sharpen or Warcry

I'm ditching my STR/FAI build to go pure STR with Yhorm's Memechete. I might drop a couple points in FAI to get Deep Protection but that's it.

Miracles are literally trash tier outside of a couple self-buffs.

Anyone else pack a Dagger sidearm when they run into a backstab/parry fishing enemy? All his moves are super telegraphed, and only one set of moves in phase two actually switch up timing on his hits. He wasn't ridiculously aggressive and had easy to take advantage of moves.

man, i think true, non-phantom hodrick is the only npc i've seen that approaches (or perhaps even exceeds) cainhurst crow-levels of input reading. what an absolute dirty cocksucker; if he has his shield out, you can't go in to attack, because there's a good chance he'll just parry your first attack. you can't kick his shield away when he blocks, because he instantly retreats backwards once you input the kick. you can't hit him when he's in stance, because he'll trigger his stanced R2 so that its hyper armor is in effect while your hit lands, so you make a very unfavorable trade.

i hate this guy more than the crow. at least the crow was vulnerable when he tricked his chikage

It probably had something to do with how cluttered her boss room is, I was going between 10 fps and 60 depending on where I was looking.

Also pontiff and legion are easy af if you use a shield with decent stability, doesn't even need to be a greatshield. Dancer meanwhile will beat break your guard and/or grab you through it.

I just finished Dark Souls a few days ago to get in shape again, with a regular melee class, so I thought I'll try and roll a mage for this one. Just to do something different.

It's terrible, save for dealing with some hard enemies. Fast aggressive types fuck my shit up, especially bosses.

there are two reasons for it being the norm:

1: there is no reason to be in ember form before the boss if you're not gonna summon, so the only people you get are ones who just beat a boss or cooped.

2: once you kill the above solo player, he isn't going ember form again

Why do they design weapons this shit?

How bad could they fuck up poise in this game. Just copy ds2 poise system and youre fuckin done. By far the worst souls game I've experienced. 90% of people use longswords. Heavy armor doesnt' fuckin matter if you can't poise through attacks to swing your big ass dildo that takes 90 years to hit. Ds2 did it right giving you the armor at the start of your attack animation. Not when it only connects like dark souls 3 does, thats the only time you get poise hyper armour only exists when your weapon is physically moving through the enemies body (or there about). This causes slower weapons to put you in a terrible spot just by attacking. If the enemy can attack faster than you (which seems to be the case most of the time) they can stagger you out of your attack animation with frustrating regularity. Enemies can also hit you at the end of your swing as well, as hyper armour stops protecting you before your animation finishes, leaving you wide open to be staggered there as well. This is why you see Lothric Knights poising through your own attacks when using a straight sword, while attacking but you can't do the same when wearing their very armour and/or weapon. This game isn't even close to balanced. The whole game is dominated right now by people just mashing R1. No room for punishment besides parries.

So for those that care, it doesn't seem like luck does much for bleed. You'll bleed just as fast with 10 luck as you would with 40. There I'd a bleed scaling, but this doesn't seem to affect the damage, only the build up and that is minor in itself.
One thing to note is that luck actually out damages str and dex if you go the hollow route and infuse a weapon with hollow, meaning luck apparently scales harder than those two.

Absolutely. I fucking love some of the bosses in this game, and that's without knowing any of their stories, which I imagine will only intensify my love for them. The average for bosses in this game was a much higher standard than the other Souls games, and we haven't even gotten DLC yet.

It seems weird that you get the tomes for both spells in the same location, but you can't unlock regular firestorm until you find Karla much later in the game.
