I don't think pyro requires as huge a stat investment as y'all are saying it does, I've got 20 int, 15 faith, and the great swamp ring on and I'm doing respectable damage in both PvP and PvE.

It's not amazing damage, but it's certainly enough to be useful in PvP, especially when I don't reveal that I have any magic until they try to run off to heal

I haven't even seen patches. Where is he supposed to be?

Haven't been here since the game came out, so 2 questions:

1. Are there any hidden downsides to hollowing, like lowered resistances or being less likely to connect to people for multiplayer, or is the only negative really just cosmetic?

2. Is it worth it to raise vitality or wear lighter armor if I'm playing a light-ish character using smaller weapons, who will never hit 70%? My weight hovers around 55-65% at all times, and it's unlikely I'll ever worry about hitting 70% even if i never raise my vit from it's default 10.

Is it actually easier to avoid attacks and such at say, 25% equip load, compared to 60%? Or is it basically all the same under 70%?

So about the entrance to Lothric Castle

I feel like they went about that the wrong way. There should've been an approach from a distance like with Boreal Valley. Instead we enter the last area of the game from a ladder. It's like, we could've got there from the beginning if we just picked up a ladder somewhere.

Somebody please help, my game gets stuck at retrieving calibrations. I've tried activating a download and then opening the game again and that doesn't work either.

I did some light testing with this last night. Measured the distance, stamina cost, number of rolls etc between two points. One with 27% load, one with 60%ish.

There was no difference as far as I could tell, perhaps it affects the iframes in some way, but it's not like DaS2 where you get progressively slower up to 70%.

Why the fuck can you only carry 5 hunter charms at a time?

Estus Flasks are so fucking good in PvP it hurts. Almost completely unpunishable, stupidly fast, hosts get twice as many as phantoms. The least they could do is let you have enough Talismans to actually fucking deal with chuggers.

That said, when you actually pelt someone with one it's always hilarious to watch them try to sippy anyways. Free tongues, free tongues everywhere.

have you played demon souls? scaling is like that again. even most good scaling dex weapons like the Uchigatana, rapier, great scythe, etc will have like a C in dex when you find them. I have a GTX 770 and a i5 4670K, barely over the minimum specs, and I play with everything maxed except lighting/shadows/shaders (those 3 on medium) and I get a solid 60FPS. It's one of the better optimized AAA releases of recent years, I wouldn't expect a patch.

So does Dark souls 3 just feel, awful to anyone else?
I feel like I'm playing half a bloodborne.
None of this combat system is dark souls, it's just bloodborne but dodging takes a bit longer.
All the weapons feel the same, all enemies are 0 poise or almost infinite, so weapon speed is almost all that matters. Map is basically linear, enemy types just keep repeating and repeating.
It feels just, heartless, there's no dark souls in here.
Any lore there is is absolutely blatant and underdone.
It feels like they knew they could do more with bloodborne's combat system, didn't have sony's ok for bloodborne 2, so they hastily built this around it.
This is pretty bad.
Way less costumes and way less varied ones at that too.
What am I even playing.

Not to even fucking mention that monstrosity that is the Antechamber, just bloodborne's random dungeon generator without the generator, none of the dark souls games have every had anything so tacky and underdesigned, not even the 4 kings
