The roll spam in DS3 is just as insane and the window for invincibility was cut only slightly.

The problem is that for whatever reason multiple enemies and bosses now very blatantly will hold their attack animations until your window is closed and then follow through with the attack.

It's the most frustrating change I've noticed so far. Those little hooded goblin fuckers are the worst about it. The magnetism is as real as it ever was in DS2 though, christ.

So I just started playing. I did play DeS a bit but that was ages ago. I'm in the first area and keep dying. There are these really fast guys in black cloaks. Not sure what they're called. They keep dodging my attacks and killing me quickly. Have I gone the wrong way? These enemies seem way too tough for the first enemies in the game?

That would be tedious to write out, they need to have appearance files be separate to saves so you can give them to people.

I basically set the default face to "true neutral" by putting all the face sliders at about 128 which seems to be what the game recognizes as the 0 and then built it up from there.

The game seems to have a inclination of wanting you to have a beedy little face with a huge forehead, setting the face to true neutral helps with that a little bit.
