Contrary to the client, which was fully made by Blizzard, server was fully made by the frogs. From scratch. That means it simply answers some requests sent to it from web and it's not a part of Blizzard-created client.

So what's the legal foundation here? How does it violate the copyrights?

It uses Blizzard's assets in the form of the client. Just read all the agreements, I'm sure it's somewhere in there. Something about only being allowed to use the client to connect to Blizzard's servers. And since Blizz cant force you to - they shut down the server that's making you break the ToS EULA or whatever other legal document.

I had both a Shaman and Warrior at level 20.

I enjoyed Warrior more but fuck me it was difficult the first few levels.

Now WF is working I'd like an Ench shammy but I'm not sure if it'd actually be any gud.

Warrior seem kinda simillar in pvp as you just stack up as many attacks simultaneously as possible for max burst.
