How's it going /indie/? I just thought I might type up a quickie before I head off to a lecture. The name of the game is hocus, a simple puzzle game developed by Yunus Ayyildiz. He's made other games for iOS but hocus was available on Steam so I wound up playing that.

The concept is rather simple, you guide a little red cube across these Escher inspired structures to reach a matching red square so you can advance to the next level. The cube is restrained in it's movements however as it can only roll along whatever side it's touching and can only change sides if it's touching a spot where two of them meet. Wrapping your head around the rules on the impossible geometry is honestly the hardest challenge in the game and honestly the only one. While the structures can get more complex as you go though it doesn't feel like their difficulty is evolving much as all the rules are there from the beginning with not much thinking is required once you get a handle on it. Though this might have been the point given the soothing background noise The game is a bit of mindless yet relaxing casual puzzle experience and if that appeals to you for the price of two bucks then I'd say go for it. If not then you can give this a pass.

Originally yes it was created by OOO rings who did not much else but they got picked up by Sega who likely ruined it.
It is a very fun game but damn it drags on because of the lack of content updates.
One of the ex lead devs left 2-3 years ago and is now making Sime Rancher.

What's happening

Plus each robot sorta has a different intro animation. It just makes it feel very unique and personal to each robot. Plus the entire level builds up to these fights so it just feels action packed.

Basically each of those robots in the "real world" runs a simulated world inside of themselves. I virus broke into siad worlds and they're helping to to destroy it. Them fighting each major virus takes place in big turn based battles. The battles are time turn based and each character has a charge meter. When the meter is filled to a certain degree you can choose certain attacks. The best ones are obviously available when it's full. You can also store up certain attacks to gain power and use later and store health points for later use. There are also I think programs or something that can be ran like the little purple guy and the tank that do specific actions like counter attack, heal, or just attack. Also mini games can be manually played or autoplayed as the battle goes on to earn I think stat buffs. Basically a lot goes on in these fights so it takes a bit to figure out, but it's REALLY fun once you do get a sort of grasp on it. Game's free on steam if you want to try it.

Has anyone ever played Hobotropolis: Tales of the Drunken Paladin?

It's a pretty typical RPG (Final Fantasy VI combat system), but it has a lot of people and things you can interact with for goofy dialogue. I had a really fun time playing it, but I never tried the extra campaigns.

Honestly that's what's sorta about the whole thing. Scott can make a truly impressive game but he's fallen into such a rut with FNAF and his fanbase that no one will care about him for anything besides that. He can't make a new property because people will write it off as cancerous FNAF related stuff and his FNAF fans only will pay attention to his FNAF games. Sorta. It has a lot of really obscured lore but the main story is that you're a security guard watching this sorta self aware nightmare chuck E cheese. The anamotronics walk around at night so that their joints don't lock up and they're possessed by dead children or something? Basically they stuff you in a robot suit if they get to you since they see you asa robo skeleton and those have to have a suite on. And those suits don't fit on people so you die basically. They're not BAD games, they're too stressful for me to playthough with all the stuff you have to do. Also I watched Joel play the last two. The RPG holy shit does it hurt to look at, and I'm the sorta guy who can stand Desolate Hope's visuals fine. A hearty "hello" to my favorite board on 4chan! I'm here with a game that's perfect for anyone who considers themselves an audiophile; the sound-based puzzle exploration game, FRACT OSC. Developed by Phosfiend Systems and composed by Mogi Grumbles you explore a vast world run on sound.

The game starts you in a area that is called the Studio, why that is I'll explain down the line. For now you should head on down and get to the tutorial area. In it you'll be introduced to your means of interacting with the world, with the press of a button you can activate an overlay of sorts that shows you icons and things of the sort that you can click and/or drag to cause carious effects such as activating a device or turning a wheel. What I like about about this is how it pulls off using a controller so well. One issue I've always had with using a controller for first person games is looking where I need to with the controller. However FRACT OSC alleviates with it's rather natural feeling controls and the relaxed environment of the game.

Once you get the hang of the controls the game opens up to you by thrusting you into the main world and from here the game opens up to you. You are given three main directions to go in, and you progress down each road you'll solve each's unique types of puzzles. Thankfully you won't have to worry about long treks back as the game provides you with the atypical warp stations with the twist that it will fly you through a series of rings to your destination; giving the would a bit more of a cohesive feel and compensating for load times. Of course you don't have to follow the set path and can even walk off the beaten path, discovering amazing things such as a cave full of glowing crystals.

One last thing I should touch on is the music. It plays an important part, especially putting together little mini-tracks as they make up a good chunk of puzzles is the game. Thankfully they more revolve around finding the proper order of operations though the results can be stellar both visually and audibly as you transverse the detailed and gorgeous world of FRACT OSC and listen to it's synth sounds.

Now you must be wondering what OSC stands for if you haven't figured it out already. It stands for Original Sound Creator. "Ohhh," I hear you say, "So the Studio is for making your own tracks?" Correct you perceptive anon! The more puzzles you complete, the more tools you'll gain access to and the more complex your tracks can get. If I had to nitpick one thing it's that I couldn't find any way to export the tracks I made, or perhaps I'd simply yet to unlock it. Either way FRACT OSC is a great game and I'd recommend it to any puzzle-loving audiophiles.
