This is probably one of the most obscure ones.

Once upon a time, there was an old game series called Relics by Bothtec.

They had Falcom develop the last entry in the series, called 'RINNE,' and Falcom released it on the same day as Oath in Felghana so it was basically put out there to die. It plays like nothing else Falcom's made.

Dela Delon from Brandish has a cameo.

Excellent work! RINNE is one of the strangest episodes in the company's history ever, mainly because they adopted Bothtec's hard work right as they were killed because they released a Legend of the Galactic Heroes wargame before re-licensing that IP. The Falcom cameos have a bit of justification because the story premise involves an AI simulation of the events of the first Relics game on Windows, meaning things can go differently depending on your choices.

The Relics games for Win9x play like a mix of games like Sacred (or Darkstone), Brandish VT, and Fallout (plus other isometric Japanese Windows CRPGs, mainly Lunatic Dawn III/IV). Story choices are the top priority, but there's some good action and character builds available. Lots of Giger-esque world design and ambiguity involved, so it ends up a mix of esoteric Western and Eastern game influences.

I hope XSEED pulls a Relics series localization project out of their pocket like it's nothing. That would be one hell of an announcement, matched only by starting to localize Korean Windows (non-MMO) xRPGs.

In Rune Factory 4, when you have your animals do field work, they only water plants and break rock/pick up weeds ? They dont harvest the crops that are ready? Thank you! Well, in my case, I've put about three years of work into this running the Falcom Pastebin.

I've done everything from run MIDI files through a VSTi to emulate how it sounds coming out of the original hardware, using HOOT to emulate the sounds of a PC-88/PC-98, using XM6-Pro68k to emulate an X68000, buying CDs off the internet and ripping them myself, trolling through Chinese hidden forums finding lossless rips, et cetera.

Essentially, you're right! I only post lossless rips of stuff in the pastebin for the exact purpose of preserving obscure games.

You see, even Falcom has only ever uploaded some of these in mp3 as iTunes exclusives. Monarch Monarch's music was only ever released on iTunes - but I managed to find and add the original Redbook audio from the game CD onto the pastebin, as an example.

I kinda had to step up to the plate with the destruction of Megaupload and the scattering of all Falcom related music across the internet. It's taken me a while to piece mostly everything back together.

That CD I just posted, for example, costs 100-150 USD on Japanese auctions, but I was able to find a guy who owns a copy that ripped it for me.

I haven't played in a long time, but I remember being able to check what event it was in the diary or calendar. Sadly, some of the smaller events aren't listed there as "Event in progress" and you'll have to walk around town looking for the trigger (but characters involved in them will still leave in the morning).
