I think BI is better in every way, but I'd still recommend starting with Rome vanilla.

Just bought the Slav DLC, been playing as the Venedians for the last couple of hours on a vanilla very hard and lmbo what a joke.

Sure you have to deal with Germanic cunts and sometimes the Huns early on but you can pretty easily camp out for like 50-70 turns, hoard shit fuck tons of gold and let climate change and the huns rape the map.

Massilia guy here, I have a dilemma.

I really liked fighting the Egyptians. The unit and building variety was incredibly refreshing. I'm fucking tired of Greek columns or barbar hovels.

But Carthage has just conquered Egypt proper, and will continue to steamroll the Ptolemies and conquer all of their land. And Carthage just has the same architecture as Greeks and Romans, doesn't it?

So, I'm thinking of giving the Egyptians absolutely fucking obscene buffs to their income, hoping that it lets them push back the Carthaginians (who are only this strong because I've given THEM a ton of buffs to income).

However, a few people have shown interest in the campaign, and I feel like I should put such a major choice to /twg/. Who should the final boss be? Mega-Carthage that will just fight like Greek state no. 51987 (all her armies are hoplies + pikes + a handful of horses and ranged), or Mega-Egypt that has elephants and chariots and shit?

Actually, there are Lizardmen on other places than Lustria. Warhammer's variant of the British Isles (Albion) are inhabited by druids, giants, and lizardmen basicly. So they are fairly close to the Old World proper.
