Armour is far from bad, a granite is actually better than a basalt for anything but extremely hard hits (that you shouldn't be taking in the first place, or preemptively mitigate).

Let's do some math, shall we? A basalt gives 20 flat %PDR.
Armor %PDR formula goes as follow: AR/(AR+10*DMG) = %PDR

AR/(AR+10*DMG) = 0.2
AR = 0.2/(AR+10*DMG)
0.8 AR = 5*DMG
DMG = 0.8/5 * AR
DMG = 0.16 * AR

So the 3000 armor a white granite gives is better than a basalt for hits smaller than 0.16*3000 = 480 damage. A perfectly rolled granite of iron skin gives 6000 armor, better than a basalt for hits smaller than 0.16*6000 = 960 damage. This is the rough base damage of white mobs in t10-12 maps, meaning that even with zero armor from tree, and zero armor from gear, a single rolled granite is better than a white basalt for the vast majority of hits.

Depends on the map. Some bosses can crit one shot you without any additional damage mods.

Just died to Crematorium boss at lvl99. I've done her at least 5 times before in the last week without any trouble. (Max block build with Aegis Aurora) Brought her down to to about 10% hp in a couple seconds and then all of a sudden she insta-gibbed me before I could even push my HP flask to heal. I don't know how. Flasks were up and fortify and max block Aegis with 4.8k hp and 1.8k ES.

It's moments like these that make me quit for a few months. If I knew how I died I could at least be prepared for it next time, but I don't. So about 10 hours of leveling lost in a second without knowing what happened.

I haven't played it personally but it looks like it's stronger than before. With the leech cluster in duelist sustaining mana is easy, you can go champion for fortify or deadeye for max dips, aoe and free acc (far shot + endless munitions + that node that grants crit per pierce chance). And people are using frost wall + trap + multitrap + cluster traps to generate a lot of frost walls so you can pierce them to single target, it looks pretty good. The only issue, which already existed before, is that finding a good wand is difficult and expensive

I made the mistake of going in and out of maps to sell rares. Not worth it looking back at my stash.
Just take belts, jewellery, boots, helmets and head pieces. Keep the ones with duo or tri res + movement speed to sell them.

As well as buy into map rotation or people who give out t11 maps and clear them. You can make the money back per map if you just pick up the stuff which drops. Convenient and fast xp.
