I found the same thing with the exception of the one craft I had a supra on. HW crafting starts right out at ARR three star level so without fully melded gear from level 50, it's a real challenge. I suggest getting a few to 53/55 before taking one all the way to 60, to get free left side crafter gear from class quests to make it easier from there up.
