Probably they never Main Production in 2009 as Index saw they could keep milking P4, so they just did as told while making Catherine to test the waters.

After Catherine they could have reached P5's Main Production as in creating the engine and some very early assets but stopped until the SEGA-Index thing was finish and SEGA's higher ups said they could keep working like that while still milking P3/4.

As the PV#03 I could say they could be at 70% - 80% as everything seems pretty much done and polished. Surely, a Beta version, as in some videos (The one where we can see some PC or devkit with the game on it) we can see P5 gameplay practically finished.

Than again I'm just some uni programmer, so I don't know exactly how nipnop game companies are.

I've been playing Persona 4 Golden for the first time for about a month now. I'm fighting Ameno-Sagiri and I just want to say that this fight is the worst fucking shit. Apologies in advance for the rant, but I need to vent my frustrations.

After a long winding path where you can't use Goho-m, you have to fight Adachi, which isn't hard but is an extremely long fight. Then anime happens and you don't get a chance to save, or leave, or rest or recover at all before being thrown into a fight with the shitty fucking overpowered eyeball that spams Almighty attacks. Losing this fight feels extremely painful because of how much shit you have to do just to get back to that point, and because of how cheap its attacks are. And you can grind, grind and grind, and this piece of shit will still kick you in the dick. I had to grind mindlessly to get up to level 69, and I still feel lightyears behind this shitfuck in terms of power. I would have to do an unimaginable amount of grinding to even stand a chance at winning this fight. Nobody finds grinding fun, and forcing the player to do it this much is extremely shitty. The player has to grind throughout the entire game, but they managed to surprise me by making it even shittier at the end. Healing is another thing, too. I had 17 Macca Leaves stocked up at the start of the fight, and I was being forced to constantly use them because 'lol almighty attacks'. I ran out. That many of those damn things and I ran out because this boss is so fucking shitty. A game's final boss isn't meant to be frustrating. Sure, it's meant to be difficult, but being hard and being cheap bullshit are two different things entirely, and Ameno-Sagiri falls squarely into the latter category.

Just finished P3P for the 2nd time as the female protagonist. Got max s.link on all of the male characters this time, but man most of them are pretty under-developed except for Shinji. Played the EN ver. this time.

Junpei is barely interested if you, Akihiko is all about dat physical training and lacks social skills and only opens up about his sister. Ken is still a kid who likes Featherman-R and has abandonment issues. President Tanaka and Mutatsu are still pretty cool (though obviously not as gender specific).

Most of the cast in English are pretty bad too; Fuuka's VA is seriously cringe and reads lines like an amateur; the JP VA seems to portray Fuuka as more cute and delicate. Others are passable.

Is there any specific reason P3 and P4 doesn't have any sort of same sex romantic relationships (Aigis doesn't count de arimasu)? Perhaps we can see this in P5. Also going to rank P3 and P4 romantic S.link females so you guys can judge me. I haven't included Maya, Chihiro or Yuko due to the lack of spoken dialogue.

I want P5 to have a super ultra edition deluxe edition of the game and beat ff xv

SE has a huge fanbase. Atlus has a much smaller fanbase that tends to be intensely loyal. I suspect most people who are interested in P5 will buy it over FF15.

But Atlus is going to cost themselves the chance to grow the fanbase beyond that hardcore group. And I think for us fans we would like P5 to be as successful as possible, if for no reason other than it makes the likelihood of more games targeting home consoles higher. I for one do not want to play Atlus games forever on the crappy looking 3DS.

Man it's very simple. If it's not profitable for them to do it, they won't. If they get the same sales or better making it cheaply on one platform, they won't do it on a more expensive one.

Maybe every blue moon or so they'll throw a bone by putting a game on a home console. And maybe if they do a collaboration where another company does the actual software development or partially foots the bill, like Arcsys or Nintendo.

Putting it more plainly, if P5 sales disappoint, the odds of another game on PS4/3 go down considerably. I don't see how you could disagree with this.

I was trying to remember the history of P5 news the other day.

It seems like there was a report or a comment from Hashino way back in 2009 telling us there was going to be a P5, but no other news at all.

Then a wait until that Famitsu article in 2011 that announced P4G and the first fighting game. It stated that they had finished the engine development (probably a premature claim) but it was going to be a long time before we heard anything. After that it was not until the glorious troll job from Atlus in 2013 that we finally saw something that referenced the game itself.

I doubt the game is broken in any way. Probably the delays are due to technical problems with the new engine (and all the assets creation fron scratch) than due to the game itself.

Hashino said P5 is the biggest Persona they have ever done (Which seems true as seen on the PVs), so that's a lot of work considering that they cannot reuse other assets (Except maybe Catherine), had to build a new engine from scratch AND redo all demons models in HD to fit Persona 5 style.

That's a lot of work for a relatively small studio like Persona Team, even more if they had to slow down due to Dango dropping P4D, the SEGA happening and porting it to PS4 (Even if ports are normally outsourced to other studios).
I don't think P5 would be rushed, as they didn't had problems to delay it like three times, and the game seems finished other than maybe some last minute details like Phantom clipping through NPCs and such.

Retail releases often takes about two months of preparations after the game is already gold, so if they are planning to release the game this summer, they must be finishing testing now.
