Sundy is the toughtest with deployment shield, but as the name suggests it has to be deployed. It's usually better to just max your blockade armour.
As for weapons, go with fury on the front and kobalt in the back.
Kobalts are underrated and ridiculous if you know how to aim them.

Yeah, they were the best general-purpose weapon by virtue of being usable on infantry past 30 meters, and were also excellent AV and even a workable AA deterrent on account of the high velocity. They were also just about the only thing during the ZOEpocalypse, other than Pounders I guess, that could put down fucking Comet glowcrabs that made up half of the VS playerbase at the time; they hated that TR had what was effectively a hard counter and bitched and moaned about it the whole time.

Then DBG took the nerf sledgehammer to it and increased COF, added extra projectile drop, reduced max velocity by like half and changed the speed curve so it no longer starts at full speed, but starts at like 50 meters per second and takes a bit to get up to full velocity. I think there was a nerf to lockdown fracture ROF boost as well. This kills the Fractures.

Cheesy crutches like UBGL, HE lightning and Fury are made useless by small battles favouring exquisite aim with weapons of the highest skill ceiling rather than weapons designed for gibbing large clusters of new players.

Since I'm already digging around in the game files, does anybody have some juicy info on the different channels used in the textures?

Usually there's a diffuse map (postfixed with _C), then a normal map (postfixed with _N), what appears to be a displacement map (postfixed with _DS) and something which I can only assume is specular map and also light emission with different meanings for the channels.

I've been dicking around with Blender's Cycles trying to use the channels in a way that results in a sensible specular map arrangement, but was unsuccessful at it.

Pic related are the individuals channels extracted by the way, from top to bottom: Red, Green, Blue, Alpha.

Red seems to be the most likely candidate of how reflective a surface is, though alpha isn't too bad either if you invert it.

using the terminal when reloading a weapon will force the primary gun to go through an unskippable reload animation. since reloading by using the terminal is faster than most primary weapon reloads on the heavy assault, you have to switch to another weapon to avoid triggering the reload animation when using the terminal.
switching to the medkit is just as reliable as switching to a loaded sidearm, because the raising animation plays quickly.

I think there is something deep rooted in the Russian psyche that causes them to ruin online video games for Europeans.

From all the way back to their mongol ancestors, up til the most recent red army halting in Germany, they've never been quite able to conquer all of Europe. This haunts them. BR120 defenders don't want fun, they want to farm from the spawn room. The first and most important advice any "pro" with ridiculously high stats will tell you is to never attack a base, always defend. The more outpopped the better. It's just that they'll never give you that kind of advice, they'll tell you to aim better, learn how to play better, stop using "crutches" and whatnot.
