'Towergirls: Subtitle Pending' is currently a JRPG dungeon crawler with a single level and some visual novel scenes. The next update will be to create a set up the Grand Strategy and Kingdom Building portions of the game, with the end result hopefully being to recreate Gats' world of Towergirls in full as a Grand Strategy/JRPG fusion with VN romance and story.

The game has a really cool real time JRPG battle system with attack, buffing, and support moves that have some really interesting ideas behind them, the platforming areas are fun with some jumping and shooting as you find items to buff your dudes like money, and there are also dungeon atari sections that are fun but I still don't get the point to since I'm an idiot and it did explain what they're for. It's also free on steam so I mean, yeah.

The game's made by a guy who at first ironically liked Bubsy, but then he genuinely started to like it. He came up with the idea of transwoman Bubsy after he heard Bubsy's VA in Bubsy 3D occasionally drop the Bubsy voice and talk with her regular voice.

He was inspired to do the Space Funeral 4 fangame after he played the first Space Funeral and found out that thecatamites made a silly Bubsy fangame, and he wanted to combine the both

Didn't the download you get come with a guide? It says you can use it to get cash since time doesn't pass when you're into the atari section. You basically wander around in it until you find a special room where there is a large fissure in the ground and indestructible faces that shoot bullets at you. You attack the fissure while avoiding the bullets and when you destroy it, you get cash and also has a bonus effect.

You know if you go into Malenz's world, and head immedately to the left, you'll find a robot who can make it so certain things happen in response to other things? I think the only options available are simple things like "when you're attacked, you get healed a little bit." Well attacking the fissures allows you to do more stuff, so you can do stuff if you get poisoned, if you dodge an attack, etc. And the stuff you can do gets diversified: You can use a mega attack, or boost your dodge or attack power, etc.

Very useful, and it's recommended to go into a dungeon and clear the fissure out as soon as you see it since it doesn't waste any daylight.

Yeah, it's free, I've been trying it out. It's a little rough in terms of design, will probably come up with some suggestions to reduce the amount of clicking you need to do. For one, I think it'd be good if they had it so you could use press "escape" to get out of windows instead of clicking the tiny x in the corner of the windows.

Anyone else not able to get into LISA and as such ended up not playing it?

I've tried three different times and there's something I just don't get, whether its the sense of direction or the battle system.

I end up being lost and/or getting owned in battle, I really wanna play this because all I see how its the best indie game out there and the feels but I can't get into it.

The Nerd is basically character of Jame Rolfe and while I'll admit the cursing was by no means my favorite part about it I still found it interesting to see what he'd do cinematically. You might need to look at a guide, the various crossroads can get pretty confusing. Sometimes I want to go to one place, but forget which cave leads to it and wind up taking the wrong cave which can get kind of tedious.

Dingaling fixes that in the DLC epilogue Lisa the Joyful. You have a better idea what cave leads where because they're marked with symbols that you can see while you're in the crossroads (Mr Beautiful's cave has a mask, Vega Van Dam has a picture of himself, etc) giving you a much better idea of where the various caves lead to.

For battle, in the first area, one of the caves is completely dark, and has easy shadow enemies you can beat up on for cash and XP. A different cave leads to an area where you can recruit a group of new people (Nern joints for free, Olan joins for 20 mags, and Rage joins for 70) which should make exploring a little easier.

Just mind the cliffs.

I don't remember what each color does, but I think they make you more powerful when you get to the jRPG battles. For example, one color boosts attack, so if you get a bunch of them, and then go fight a virus, you'll have higher attack.

Welp it's that time again where I get off my duff and try to contribute to /indie/! This time by talking about the platformer Mute Crimson +!

The plot of Mute Crimson + is simple, shit's hit the fan and baddies are everywhere so you go out to to find the source of it all whilst navigating tight platforming challenges and slaying any enemies that come your way. The game plays like the classic Ninja Gaiden with the main character able to double jump, slash with a sword, and climb any walls not riddled with tenta-spikes. The game takes a monochromatic style so almost everything consists of blacks, whites, and grays save for deadly hazards and enemy blood, which is a lovely shade of crimson, and yellow coins you can collect to unlock features which I'll get to in a moment. First off i want to address something important, the dialogue. You see this game purposely mimics old NES style bad translations, likely run through Babelfish, it either makes the game funnier or at worst does nothing at all. There are also various unlocks you get by collecting coins put in tricky places, most notably the original Mute Crimson which I found interesting to play if for no other reason than that it gave me a look at how much the game had improved, at least graphically. You can also unlock customization options such as playing as the classic sprites in the + plus version or playing the + music in the classic version and so on. Of course the level design is no slouch either with levels being filled with challenge aplenty from dodging lasers, working with the wind, and even surviving the gravity twisting platforming of the moon level to avoid being killed and get to the boss at the end. It's a one-hit you die platformer and while it's challenging it's also satisfying and interesting to play. Highly recommend this to anyone wanting to add this to their platforming collection.

I think it's good they're just sticking to gen 1. I think part of what made the effort to make Broquest a game fail was that they kept adding so many new characters, you couldn't really implement them all very well.

Well, my game is located on a world where everyone is a fucking wizard, and almost everyone is on a ultra-specific branch of magic (there are brick wizards, uranium wizards and keyboard wizards).
You control an adept with no clear preference between magic, and the game is having to click to hit creatures and gain gold and exp. After you gain a certain amount of exp you can branch into two different kinds of magic, each one giving shit.
With gold you can pay to different mages to produce a passive amount of materials, and then you can use those materials to upgrade you wizard.

How does it sounds? Would you play it?

This is a far ways off, and subject to change, but I can give you the basics on how we're at least going to start off the modding tool kit.

The first stage of the tool kit will be purely focused at Visual Novel Segments, and we've already handled that to a degree. Much as how Corruption of Champions or Trials in Tainted Space allows the community to build written segments we can then put into the game, our own system already supports that.

The next stage will be releasing how that works, and methods of sticking it into the game, with easy to use triggers and tags for determining WHERE such mods will pop up. Usually as random events and encounters in your kingdom or while adventuring.

The next stage will be in allowing people to put in their own emotes, pictures, and graphics, up to and including CGs. No doubt this is where the lewd crew will take over and replace our fade to blacks with actual sex scenes. But that'll be on the community, not on us. We won't host it on our website and forums, but nor will we try to hinder it more than that.

After that, we'll see about the capability to army units and party members, and after that, factions, techs, and similar high level areas. But that's very very far in the future, and we might not actually reach that stage if the patreon doesn't take off.
