I just watched a video showing all the poses.
Many characters like Torbjorn and Winston have 3 amazing poses.
Even some humans, like Symmetra and D.Va , have 3 good poses.

But then like half the remaining humans have really shitty or generic poses.
Widowmaker's poses are literally just her standing there from different angles.
Tracer's salute was only slightly better than the Over the Shoulder cause she was, y'know, showing emotion in it and there was more flow to her body's pose.
But shit like having Mercy have the exact same "Over the Shoulder" pose and just calling it "Ready for Battle" when there's SO much more you could do with a fucking angel posewise is retarded.

Winston doesn't seem to be in a super good spot right now is the only reason I bring him up. You can get some pretty good harassment going on with his leap but his bubble can't defend much of anything anymore.

It seems like they should have either made the cooldown longer OR reduce it's strength. Both just made the shield a momentary annoyance.

Well, as somebody who has hundreds if not thousands of hours in literally all their IPs let me explain to you how they have used balance over the last 10-20 years to get people to keep playing their games.

They will originally have one archetype, one that seems relatively balanced maybe a few imbalances here and there but they will use it to determine what playstyle most people like.

Then they will make a handful of classes extremely overpowered and the only choices available for competitive play. After a few months once people get sick of that and start complaining about boring meta they will nerf those classes but only to make other classes or playstyles insanely OP.

They have done this for starcraft, diablo (at least 2 I don't play 3 anymore), warcraft 3, WoW and Hearthstone. They probably do it for heroes too but I forget that game even exists most of the time.

If they don't do it with overwatch, it will absolutely be the exception to the rule.

Ahem. As somebody who has never played Overwatch I was not aware of the following facts until today's controversy. It has come to my attention that Tracer, the character I am most looking forward to playing, has a bum. Yes, that's right. A bum, bottom, behind. This is grossly offensive to me, and to anyone else who planned on playing Tracer. Both my wife's daughter and I intended to play Tracer, and what kind of mother's husband would I be if I let my wife's daughter see a woman with a bum? Fully clothed or not, is is incredibly obvious that Tracer has a bum when viewed in her pornographic "over the shoulder" pose, and this is simply disgusting.

As of right now I am announcing that I will no longer be playing Tracer, and when Blizzard allows me to play my Overwatch™: Origins Edition Pre-Order (that I made back in October) I will be playing a character that does not have a controversially pornographic victory pose that openly displays their disgusting female bum, a character I can feel safe showing to my wife, my wife's current boyfriend, my wife's daughter's father, and my wife's daughter: Widowmaker.

Corrected that for you faggot. They're not removing the pose, they're replacing it with something they think will work better, which shouldn't be hard cause "Over the Shoulder" is an awful pose they threw onto a bunch of humans instead of doing something fun with their poses.

And Hanzo's should be replaced too. He literally has no unique pose, all his are generic ones shared with the others. He's a fucking archer that pulls a dragon of the darkness flame with his arrow. They should be able to come up with a better victory pose for him.

If I was in the beta, I'd probably post on that forum asking them to give Hanzo, Tracer, Widowmaker, etc. more unique poses cause as is their poses either mostly or all suck.

So I wanted to start off by saying, I think the development team has done a pretty great job with the cast of male hero's in Overwatch. They are diverse, interesting, and compelling. From Soldier 76 to Genji to Torbjörn the male cast reflects a large spectrum of personalities and player fantasies.

With that being said, lets talk about McCree. From a marketing standpoint, he's the star of the show. He's a great hero. When we look at the way he's portrayed in promotional media, lore, and art in game we know a few things about him..

He's Fast. He's Silly. He's Kind. He's a good Friend. His body seems to be comprised of about 95% spunk.

Almost all of his art reflects this. He's got cool skins, He's got fun poses, He's got amazing victory animations. All of this art reinforces the great character you've built around mccree.

Then out of seemingly no where we have this pose:

WHAT? What about this pose has anything to do with the character you're building in mccree? It's not fun, its not silly, it has nothing to do with being a fast elite killer. It just reduces mccree to another bland male sex symbol.

Yeah, Mercy is by far the best support and the only real healer in the game.

You can't just sit there and hold left click though as she has no real defense and you need to always be aware of your surroundings and where you are positioned. Playing her properly requires a lot of decision making, constant checking of your flanks, keeping an eye on all your teammates and knowing how and when to switch to them. Even timing your revives plays a huge part into whether or not your team can win the game, you have to keep track of which ultimates the enemy team may or may not have and can do some fun stuff like delayed revives to catch the enemy team out of position with it.

Over the shoulder in general is a nice pose for any of the characters that have it, it's a different look at their model and has a nice bit of confidence to it. The over the shoulder poses the majority of the humans have (Hanzo, Tracer, Widowmaker, Soldier, Mercy, etc) don't DO anything. Sure its a different angle, but there's no expression to it, facial or body wise.

Compare theirs to Symmetra's Dance pose. It's basically another Over the Shoulder, but it's done right. We still get a good enough angle to see the emotion on her face. And the pose itself is very dynamic, you can see that she's actually being active in the posing rather than just sitting there like a limp fish.
Turn Tracer's waist a bit so she can get more of her face in, put one of her hands on her hips, accentuating the "tail end"/cockyness idea more (but keep the other hand armed to show she just kicked ass), and have her smile. Bam, More dynamic, more fitting the character and more personalized while still retaining the back angle and ass.

The only person I'd say the generic over the shoulder should stay with is Soldier, cause that fits his whole thing of being a generic shooter guy.

And I can see that argument about them being too silly for someone like Soldier or Hanzo, but Tracer?
She's supposed to be expressive and energetic. Her just standing around doesn't work at all.
None of her poses really convey that. They're all too static honestly. It's not like they can't have motion to them: look at Junkrat's twitchy poses or Winston's Beast pose. She should have some kind of bounce to her.

How can you honestly say pic related is top tier as a victory pose. It's literally the same as his normal pose, but his arms aren't crossed. This is even LESS confident than his neutral pose, since having his arms crossed in that at least shows he doesn't feel he needs them anymore.
I'm sorry if you're one of those faggots that enjoys plain, stale bread, but most people would rather have some cheese with it.
And like I said, they could at the very least give Lucio some motion in his stance. He's a fucking music man, he shouldn't be standing perfectly still.

Phara's poses are a bit samey, but at least they made use of the fact that she can fly to give her some unique shit.
And Mercy's over the shoulder is completely pointless. She's your medic support, and her VICTORY pose is "Ready for Battle" where she's standing like some warrior? Fuck that, just bring out her wings and show her in a caring light.

Having subtle victory poses is great, every pose doesn't need confetti shooting out of the characters ears as they wrestle a neon pink tiger to the ground.

Are people really cancelling over a butt pose? Really? I am a objective observer and only have seen this in action so all I know is I definitely felt like this game was oversexualized and mentioned it on forums but everyone made fun of me, basically I called it they would nerf Widowmakers ass then go after some of the poses. It was inevitable that a game this flashy and cute would draw in women... they would get from Mei into the 'problematic' characters and then fuck it all up.

I'm a massive tf2 fan and love shooters.

Not buying this shit. I've seen what SJW devs do to games playing league of legends. Here's a short list of what their game lacks.

No replays, no anti cheat, no solo queue, no microphones.

That's the funny part about it.

I was confused at first as to what was going on when I saw one of my teammates seem completely unable to move and shoot at the same time. After a few days I've seen a few more people who randomly walk around and fire their weapons at the floor and walls, after dying a couple times they switch characters and do the same thing again. The only explanation at this point is that it's people running a bot that's only set to walk around, stop, shoot, then switch characters.
