Maybe but don't expect it.
If the rules are going to be updated I'd like to know everything that needs updating/fixing/implementing because over the years there's been a ton of things that have needed to be done but haven't really. So because there's a lot of things wrong with the rules I cannot remember everything that needs codifying, so if anyone can post the things that they know need to be in the rules it would help a lot.

The answer is actually no. The reason Mami is Waifu Walls is a bit weird honestly. I was making the roster page and thought the Mami wallpaper would look good on the gold background for gold players. Then Smugleaf made boxheads out of the pictures on the roster page and an anon later posted in /4ccg/ a few times about using Credens Justitatem as a goalhorn and I tried it out in some invitationals and kept it around for polling and it stayed in. That said I cannot deny that she is my favourite character from one of my favourite shows which is why I had that wallpaper in the first place.

Well for Winter there was /o/ submitting a horribly broken export again and nobody knowing what the correct response was and during the Ro16 the former /u/ manager wanted to come back and manage because Retort wasn't there but got denied because while people getting verified during cups has never been allowed someone who has been verified coming back mid-cup had never happened so it was a weird gray area.

The current rules for export violations are too vague and leave too much up to discretion:

1. Should an export contain rule-breaking faults, the 4CCC will then take the necessary actions to fix these faults with a penalty.
2. The 4CCC reserves the right to disqualify teams for an Elite Cup should their export be deemed to contain too many faults. In this case a backup will replace that team.

So when /o/ broke their export with 33 errors, they could have either been punished heavily (which they weren't) or even be disqualified (which they weren't). Maybe have a cap system where like 5 errors nets you a card loss, 10 errors nets you two cards lost, and more than that is automatic disqualification.

Now, in the case of /u/ where we had to sit through 20 minutes of riggy diggy during a KNOCKOUT match. Personally, I thought tactical changes of that extent should be banned but the rules do allow for "live managing" so under Chapter V section 2.2
It should be clear though that old retired managers shouldn't be allowed to come back and manage in place of current managers since the retired managers are not part of the staff (presumably). (I'm looking at chapter II section 5) There should also be statements about what "retirement" actually is and what "sacking" is for that matter and how final both these options are.

Also, will this not apply from now on? If not, you should probably get rid of it:
Should there not be enough signups for a Babby Cup, a select amount of random competitors that did not sign up will then fill up the open spots (called 'autopilot teams'). These teams will play with their latest official export adjusted to the rules of that cup, as well as some disadvantages decided by the 4CCC. If no such exports exist, it will be made by the 4CCC.

Now, pics please

The only thing I have to say about the /u/ case is that, while it does feel somewhat excessive and is a bitch to sit through while watching it, if you were to deny them the opportunity after a concession/20 minutes, that would be riggy in and of itself, and in a worse way. /u/ ended up being second, if they weren't allowed they could have lost to /d/ and we would have had a very different tournament.

You're right a huge problems with the rules are that there's a huge amount of discretion and while that could be used to make the best decision for the situation what happened with /o/ is that because there wasn't a hard rule on what to do nobody wanted to take a bold action. The same sort of thing happened with the 20 minutes of rigging, it's up to the streamer and so no bold decision was made and that is a problem but what is equally a problem is if we get specific and then get the numbers wrong.

And the issue with the /u/ person wasn't that they wanted to come back it was that they wanted to come back in the middle of the cup, I know they had been working with him doing testing and such but the rules stop someone new from coming aboard but nobody had thought to specify someone coming back.

And that last one will probably not apply anymore and hopefully there will be specifics like super soon.

Another thing that needs discussing is what's okay for a player specific kit. The only two in Winter were an /mlp/ player and a /gd/ player because Tony didn't tell anyone how it was possible then Smugleaf got his hands on the aesthetics and instantly cracked it. It can make a player have a kit completely different from the rest of the teams' jersey which could lead to kit clashes and players not looking like they're part of any team.
>>
>>136136318
I'd say player-specific kits fall under the same category as blimp train-tier blenders, use them if you need to, just don't go full retard.

Where full retard is, obviously, defined by our pony overlord with a fetish.
>>
>>136136318
In my opinion, if it's just changing the kit texture there should only be one or two at max allowed per team, if it's changing the shirt model itself (can that even be done?) then we could be a bit more relient since those are more noticeable and won't cause less confusion.

By Jimmy Russels

On April 1st, 2011+1 /m/ hoisted the first babby title triumphantly as they marched onward to the 2012 Summer Cup.

But the following four years it would have fans of Japanese Culture teams stunned time and time again. /m/ would fall short of a final in summer 2012 to take a bronze trophy to their display after defeating /toy/ 4-0. /h/ would be the closest japanese culture team to the podium in the following season of Autumn 2012 at 11th place. In winter 2013 /cm/ came in fourth initially just missing the third place trophy by way of being gassed with the triple effort of Stormfront, Doompaul, and Hitler. Of course due to Dragongate /cm/'s 4th place finish was nullified and brought great dishonor to the Japanese Culture teams, tarnishing what would've otherwise been considered as a great run. Defeating /a/ in an incredible 4-0 victory only to lose to /toy/ 4-2 in the semi-final. In the 2013 Spring Babby Cup Japanese Culture would not prevail as /cgl/ made an appearance to the round of 16 and then a prompt exit with a 2-0 loss to /ck/. In the "Height Abuse" Summer 2013 Tournament Japanese Culture would fall short of the semi finals with all hope riding /a/ before losing to the eventual champions /wg/ 3-1. In Autumn 2013 the hope for Japanese Culture was found in the unlikely candidate of /f/ but unfortunately /f/ lost 1-0 in the very final moments against /fa/ in the quarter finals leaving /f/ in 5th place as Dick Ovens and the rest of the /fa/ squad would go onto the finals but would lose a hard fought match against /toy/ 2-0. /a/ would come close in the 2014 winter cup, defeating /mlp/ in extra time with a Bert brace however their second star would be snatched away by a very precise /trv/ only allowing /a/ 3 shots on target compared to the five of their own. /trv/ hoisted the Winter 2014 trophy after a 2-0 victory.
>>
>>136136318
imo don't change the kits at all. The whole point is this is supposed to be a team and teams wear the same kit aside from the keeper. Blenders feel different for me because you can't have blenders in irl divegrass but kits I feel weird about.
>>
>>136137391
During the 2014 Spring Babby cup with the freshly introduced Mega Babby format Japanese Culture would find itself stopped once again in the Quarter Finals. /e/ dispatched in penalties by eventual champions /pol/, /u/ defeated by /tg/ in a nail biting 1-0 match. The 2014 summer cup would see all time Japanese Culture titan /a/ toppled all the way down to 27th place and into their first babby tournament. Leaving the dream with the /u/ and /h/ who would eventually enter a three way tie for the 5th place participation ribbon with each other and /ic/. /u/ was knocked out by /x/ 2-1 and /h/ by their 3DPD Neighbor /hr/ by the same score line.

The 2014 Autumn Babby Cup saw /e/ make it all the way to the final but /b/ would not allow them to hoist the first place trophy an ember of hope was lit in the 80th minute as ENF scored for /e/ but the dual effort of Triforce and The Fappening would prove to be enough to prevent their victory and also ignited a Giga Puddi raid on the /e/ board itself where /e/ then lost use of a few pages for the remainder of the day. Winter 2015 would see another runner up finish for Japanese Culture. This time in /h/ as they would best their pure counterpart /u/ in a tight 1-0 match and then another 1-0 victory over /ck/ with a goal from Asuka at the end of the first half of extra time. However /tg/ with the traditional roll of the D20 /tg/ would defeat /h/ in the final 1-0 with Doomrider scoring the only goal of the match whilst jamming several syringes in his arm and also consuming a whole brick of cocaine orally whilst doing so.

The Rules talk page (https://implyingrigged.info/wiki/Appendix_talk:Rules) keeps track of a couple things that get/got mentioned in /4ccg/, however as can be seen many of these points have been addressed or are outdated, and good new points don't come up here very often.

The most recent complaints about rules I remember are pretty much what >>136133830 wrote about faulty exports, especially regarding giving one's team too many cards so that you technically can test different card combos a few extra days, and the Signups period being too long/being essentially useless since people need to submit an export anyways or something along those lines (even though /4ccg/ wanted them to be codified in the first place).

About the /u/ thing, I agree that it should be made clearer that only managers currently listed on the team page can manage the team (II.5 in combination with II.5.2 technically already makes this clear, but I guess it couldn't hurt to clarify). However I think that while the endless rigging was painful to watch, that's excusable since it was the knockouts and tactical changes are more common and important there.

On that matter, another thing that came up recently here is that menu stuff (ie. setup and tactical rigging) take too long.
I personally don't think changes should be restricted too much only to try and save a few minutes of time since it'll only increase the burden on managers to not fuck stuff up since they'd have less options to fix it, but at the same time not really actually save much time.

Also maybe the streamer should re-read the entire rules page right before each tournament to refresh their memory on these since we've had quite a few lapses of this kind in the last few Cups, and even "the people that matter :^)" don't seem to be entirely on the same page as far as current rules go. I think Sou not knowing that Emotions were still of in Winter despite being in /merit/ is the single best example of this.
>>
>>136137638
In last years Spring Babby tournament /m/ would lose to /tv/ as FOR YOU crashed the colony with no survivors with a brace. The podium finish this time would go to a robotic /cgl/ as GET A GODDAMN WIG (I'm talking to you SDA). Would secure the appropriately dubbed "Bird Place" Trophy in which the players placed it in their case and then promptly shat all over screaming "MINE!" In the most recent Summer Tournament Japanese Culture would re-familiarize itself with quarter final exits in both /f/ and /u/. /f/ losing to /mu/ 2-0 and /u/ losing to /b/ 3-1. In Autumn 2015's tournament Japanese Culture would not escape the quarter finals yet again as /h/ lost to the eventual runner up, /int/ 3-0. And of course we come down to our most recent tournament for the woes of the weeaboos as once again they would be denied gold once again. Purest Form of Love and Homucifer with great goalkeeping by Madokami. L O N D O N opening up the score sheet. Homucifer to score the equalizer at 53rd minute of the second half. It only took Scooby six minutes afterwards to find the reply for /fit/ and Purest Form of love to equalize the contest yet again just nine minutes later. With extra time being tense Homucifer would pull /u/ ahead at 105+3. But the dying minutes of the match wrought despair for /u/ as L O N D O N would once again find the back of the net and with all of his strength Zyzz would shout "WE'RE ALL GONNA MAKE IT BRAHS!" as a short corner was masterfully taken and with the perfect pass given to him Zyzz would put the header in to make the match 4-3 leaving Japanese Culture with yet another 2nd place trophy.

this

The whole "one player can have a different kit than everyone else!" thing is cool from a "oh look they figured out how to do this" standpoint, but it goes against what a kit should be and just leads to only special snowflake teams having it.
>>
>>136136318
>people in charge too scared of hurting people's feelings or punishing mistakes in the name of efficiency
The discretion was given so people had the leeway to be quick and decisive about punishments, not meander and hesitate. If there's anything I've learned is that people will abuse rules if you make them vague and can only be brought in line if you punish them harshly. You make the rules more specific and they'll comply or be punished. As the new head honcho, you have the chance to make things right. Take command, don't take any bullshit from nobody. The pussyfooting days of Boris are over my friend. You have the reigns.

That was Jackie Chan, right? I feel that we can go a bit further with keepers since they don't move around as much as other players and they are not as confusing.

Another example would be /pol/'s Build Wall, which would be annoying as a field player but is okay as a keeper
>>
>>136138303
His kit was still visible if I recall correctly, that's more of a special blender.
>>
>>136137638
>>136137807
The usage of "would" seems to make more sense in these, however I still think it's weird and that you should drop it or at least use it less often.
>>
>>136138860
Noted good sir, feedback is appreciated! I'll use that good ol' google machine to find a thesaurus
>>
>>136139006
I don't think you need a thesaurus, but rather you should replace most instances of would with just simple past forms. Although as said it seems to be more fitting in these paragraphs, but I'm not a native speaker anyways so don't take my words for granted.
>>
>>136138640
No, only his pants were visible, rest was invisible.
You also have to take into account the rigcam potato quality for managers.
I remember because Bent was trying very hard to excuse that blender while shitting on big blenders like Maus, up to suggest a fucking rule to allow that specific blender for /mlp/
>>
>>136139006
Yeah, I didn't want to say anything because I don't usually read all that shit but that is a lot of "would" you have there.

Also
>On November 17, 2013, /asp/ won their first and only babby cup match
>on this same day, a major tornado outbreak occurred across the Midwest and Ohio River Valley, producing 73 tornadoes and killing 8 people
>with 25 confirmed tornadoes in Illinois, this became the 4th largest tornado outbreak for the state, and ranks as the costliest and deadest for the state in the month of November

seemed noteworthy enough

Wasn't that a glitch? I thought he was supposed to have a full kit, just no body.

People already bought the jerseys, after all.
>>
>>136139706
Ah right, yes. In that case, I agree with >>136138639. I do also think that potatovision makes Jackie especially bad compared to other things, but I also think it's not that bad since he's a goalkeeper.

Dear 136144330,
That kind of obsession over one team is unhealthy. But please keep posting if it helps you as a part of your teraphy. Personally, I envy someone who leads a life so carefree that his biggest problem that deserves daily complaints on chinese drawings website is watching particular team that wins some matches in virtual memegrass competition. I hope you will get well soon.

Which points would that be, then? "They get lucky all the time" isn't an argument. It's pointless rage from someone who's bias goes no further than >/myteam/'s wins are based on pure skill while /yourteam/'s wins are pure luck.

It's all a dice roll in the end, and every team tries to stack the dice in their favor.

Part of it happens before the cup begins, by figuring out the appropriate formation. Part of it happens before the match, by figuring out the appropriate tactics. And part of it happens during the game, by figuring out the appropriate changes, if necessary. A team that consistently does well will typically be good at at least one of these things. In the case of /mlp/ they have a team of autists running hundreds of tests before every game, so that's where their strength is at. When it comes down to cups, they always come prepared.

Do they win games they shouldn't? Of course. Every team does. They also lose games they shouldn't have. Just like every other team.

In the end, PES is a video game pretending to be divegrass. But PES isn't divegrass, and all your theorizing and futbol knowledge is pointless. To be good at PES, you need to be good at PES. Not divegrass.

/cgl/ will probably not sign up this time around and may be considered a ded team at this point since Satoshi could not gather enough interest to merit verification. /diy/ looks to be in a similiar situation unless someone comes in relatively soon. out of both those teams, /diy/ looks more likely to live, but someone will need to step up soon. If they both end up dead, /w/ and /hr/ would advance into the safe space of Pot 3.

There is also the possibilty of teams like /his/ or /trash/ coming into the fetus to qualify as well to replace said ded teams.

I've actually been meaning to talk to Lear about that. There is a lot of talk about Boris taking over but I doubt he will threw himself out of one stressful situation and go into another one in managing. I wouldn't completely disregard it however. For now at least, I would count on /hr/ being in the Fetus.
>>

Wait I don't follow, if two pot 3 teams are ded, how does it leaves room for three pot 4-5 teams (/c/, /w/, /hr/) ?

I hope you're not lying, that sounds great

Hi page 9 ronery poster
>>
>>136198538
>board interest is necessary for a team to participate
Then why do teams like /s/, /out/ and /an/ exist?
>>
>>136199336
/t/ is automatically in a Fetus due to Autumn Fetus. Since this Fetus is gonna be 16 teams from pot 4-5, /t/ will start at the very bottom of pot 5 bumping the team currently at the top of 4 (/c/) into pot 3.

Ded teams like /diy/ and /cgl/ will be dropping to the bottom of pot 5 as well, so now /w/ and /po/ will move up into pot 3. /hr/ is already a pot 4 team and will just drop down a pot.

How does this make sense? only 7 winners in fetus?

Lear is already rigging it I see
>>
>>136199997
>/t/ will start at the very bottom of pot 5 bumping the team currently at the top of 4 (/c/) into pot 3.

Wouldn't that make the first 3 pots 25 teams big ? (8 in pot 1, 8 in pot 2 and 9 in pot 3)
>>
>>136200383
/t/ is automatically in so one team gets a free pass to avoid a 17 team fetus
>>
>>136200625
So exactly how is fetus going to work then?
>>
>>136200829
bottom 16 teams (some may come and go, after signups we will know exactly who is participating) will compete for 8 spots in a 32 team Babby
>>
>>136200625

But that would just make a 33 team babby
>>
>>136200960
So the whole system can only work if /cgl/ or /diy/ stay dead

I think the custom kits should be VERY limited, and at most like one per team.
Dan's is fine because his Jerk shirt is his signature thing in the show, and Glitch Art is just a corrupted /gd/ kit so it's not too clashing with anything else

I could have given more players custom kits but it would have been stupid
One is enough, and at an absolute push, maybe two
But we'll stick to blenders for the most part

Many times I have thought that to myself that computers would work better if you could just "add a two" in binary code. Because of advances in technology, it is now possible to do even more than that. My name is John Jenkins and my invention is called Busco Quadnary. This difference between my invention and traditional binary is that you can program in four dimensions right out of the box. This has tremendous implications for 3d graphics and gaming. Today, we use what are called Z-buffers to simulate 3 dimensions. With the use of 3d engines, games are able to deliver a quality approximation. What would make this simulation even better, however, would be if we could allow four dimensions to be built into the computer, at the machine language level. This is what I plan to do.

I have some news regarding the Tag Team Cup:
1. Everything is moved a week forward, seeing as how the fetus was scheduled on the dates we wanted to host the TTC2. This means the cup dates are 2nd, 3rd, 9th, and 10th April instead - the export deadline is moved to thursday the 31st at 23:59,
2. Since we have a good format for 10 and 12 teams we will not accept new teams unless two more sign up before next Monday.
3. We'll post a poll about how to group teams on Monday. The three ideas are 1. Completely random 2. Five pots based on joint ranking of both teams 3. Turbo rigged, picked by the host.

>20 team fetus
You're killing me Lear, I felt that 16 was a large enough number 20 teams sound crazy.
>>
>>136241109
Why not make a Spring Babby Cup signup including the fetus teams, there's no point on knowing /diy/ is pot 3 when they're dead and having to go through the ordeal of replacing dead babby teams with fetus teams that didn't make it through, that way you can establish which teams will participate in the Babby (bumping Pot 4 teams to 3 should Pot 3 or higher teams fail to sign up) and which (and how many of them will be the) ones that will go through fetus.
>>
>>136241109

The thing is, he clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. The goal of a Fetus is to pick the last 8 teams in the Babby Cup, correct? If /cgl/ and /diy/ don't get a manager or interest, that leaves 22 teams in Pots 1-2. If you want 8 teams to come out of the Fetus, that means that 2(2) Pot 4 teams move up.

So, just to be clear, there are three ways what he said makes sense:

1) Only /c/ and /w/ move up from Pot 4, leaving 24 guaranteed teams and 8 Fetus teams.
2) /c/, /w/, and /po/ move up from Pot 4, 25 guaranteed teams, only 7 move up from Fetus.
3) Another team from Pots 1-3 fails to sign up, presumably /hr/. This makes the most sense in the context of what you're saying, but everything the people you replied to said that their numbers assumed /hr/ signed up under Bors or someone else.
4) Math Lear Repent.

So, which is it?

Oh and did I just say the dates would be announced later today? I meant right now.

March 30th-April 8th Signups/Deadline
Fetus Save Fix - April 12th
April 15th - Fetus to be streamed on Friday by Hessen and Sat/Sun by PMB
April 24th - Draw
April 29th - Aesthetics Deadline
May 6th - Opening Day

Now you all might have noticed something about the signups and the deadline being the same. That is because there is a significant change that you all should pay close attention to. Signups and the export deadline are being merged. With the exports before the draw anyway there's no real reason to keep them separate since it doesn't provide any real benefit since having them separate lets things like >Fang happen. A team is counted as signed up when they post their export.

Note also ALL teams in both Spring and the Fetus will be submitting their exports on that date, and a team in the qualifier that promotes will use that same export in the main tournament.

Having exports at the get go lets us properly know which teams are alive and which teams need to be kneecapped or totally removed for having a broken export. The AATF exists and has existed for a while now, screwing up is inexcusable and if you fuck up I will have no sympathy.

The exact format of the fetus will depend on the number of teams that wind up in it and check out my userpage for details (I think I linked it earlier but am not sure).

Expect all of this on the wiki shortly.

Not him but I think that's a good idea. Being able to submit an export at least once should earn you a ticket to Spring. Also, it can also be an incentive against pseudo-autopilots like Autumn /cgl/: if you submit a bad export in the first deadline, but disappear during the second, you're forced to play with shitty tactics. If you send a decent export in the first, you are giving everyone else an extra month to test against you, which would completely fuck Juve over.

If you want to purge dead teams, the fetus is the dumbest way to do it
What's going to happen is that real teams with fans and managers that go to the board like /co/, /toy/, and /v/ have a good chance of losing to fanless merc-factories like /diy/ and /t/

If they end up winning, the worthless teams people want to purge are just going to be legitimized by earning a place in the babby

Fetus isn't even intended to purge teams and the way it looks right now literally two thirds of it is going to play in the babby

Maybe /co/, /toy/, and /v/ managers should stop being massive ding dongs if they don't want to be part of the one third of teams that can't even play in the fucking babby tee bee aitch

Daily reminder to watch the wrassle cup this weekend, as it will be testing the Harlock patch, one of the changes that has been tested by several people, all of them have liked the improvements, and doesn't involve any huge sweeping changes to the cup meta, only fixes spaghetti.

I mean, it's either that, or no changes at this point. Just about nothing else has support or has had people testing it enough to make much of a case at this late stage when the deadline is so close.

>>

If /co/ and /v/ sucked less monkey balls they would have a chance.

/c/ and /w/ are the top two pot 4 teams, if two pot 3 teams can't play, then /c/ and /w/ got up to pot 3, it's that simple.
>>
>>136293725
Should've done better in the last Babby, then. Also if /cgl/ and /diy/ still had managers or were to get some /w/ would also be in the Fetus.

Also having a big Fetus again allows bringing the Babbies back to the classic 32 teams format, which reduces the load on the streamer. I know you'd rather kill teams you don't like, but that's simply not possible due to the impossibility of deciding teams that should be killed and goes against the spirit of the Cup (Also since the decision of which teams to kill would ultimately lie with the commish, guess what team would not be killed). The Fetus is the closest thing to killing teams that's possible, and we'd need one anyways even if we were to stay at Megababby format simply due to how many teams there are.

I didn't say that, I said that killing teams (ie. #48teams) goes against the spirit of the Cup. If /v/ and /co/ do well, they can still be in the Cup, and even if they don't advance from the Fetus, they'l have had a couple games and will be able to try again in Autumn. Killing teams would deny them to play any games at all, this way /v/ and /co/ get to play games, and so do /w/ and /e/. And if they advance from the fetus (What I think is fairly probable for at least one of them), they get to play even more games than the other teams.

Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer /v/ and /co/ over /w/ and /e/ too, but simply choosing them to participate would be unfair to other teams, and result in even more shitflinging once you get to teams with less clear differences in popularity. It happens each and every time this thread tries to agree on which teams they would like to kill.

By the way, do your 48 teams include /s/ by chance?

It's a competition to add memes.
>>
>>136297060
It existed before /merit/, but /merit/ made it better, funnier, and more watchable than any of us could've expected back in the days of PES12. The Cup, as it exists today, cannot exist without them. You could at least concede that, but you won't because you're an ingrate nobody who has nothing to contribute but anonymous whining in a shithole general.

Everybody you relentlessly mock is infinitely more based than you because of what they do. This would only make you angry, as it does, if you were incredibly insecure.

Of course it doesn't.
Teams competing on equal terms is part of the spirit of the Cup. /sp/ or /a/ shoudn't get an extra gold medal just because they're big market.
'Everybody gets to play' however is complete nonsense and it's absolutely unbelievable that there are people who support this nonsense. Makes me wanna create /hc/ and /p/ out of pure spite.

It's a competition of memes.

Look if they are teams that compete for a trophy, it's a competitive event, no matter seriously you take it, from "lolmemes" to "muh srs esport", the fact of the matter is that it is still competitive in essence.

There's a team. It has a lot of fans and good board culture. Even people who don't browse [board] like to see them play.
There's another team. It has 2 fans (one of which is the manager, and the other will probably join him within a year). It's a dump board with no board culture whatsoever. Nobody besides those 2 cares about said team.

I'm pretty sure those two are in no way equal so no, their right to compete in the Cup is not equal either. The Cup exist for the people who watch it and you're just taking a shit on them to defend the imaginary rights of boards nobody gives a fuck about.
>>

>'Everybody gets to play' however is complete nonsense and it's absolutely unbelievable that there are people who support this nonsense
How is it complete nonsense? Also how does that not contradict your statement on competing on equal terms?

Also, good luck creating those teams without any board support, why do you think they don't have teams in the first place?

>Also how does that not contradict your statement on competing on equal terms?
If you'll use your reading comprehension skills you should be able to figure it out. Unless those don't exist.
They should compete on equals terms purely because of the entertainment value. Rigged competitions suck.

>Also, good luck creating those teams without any board support, why do you think they don't have teams in the first place?
Dragonfag managed to create a tons of teams like that just fine. They still exist today and are allowed to compete no problems. Lear made another with /w/, which started out as Ducky's stupid joke. Why couldn't I do just that? I don't need fans to compete afterall, at least according to you

Yes, but the thing is: you will never be able to properly quantify the amount of fucks a given team is given by the public.

Establishing criteria to select teams will just make you drown in murky waters; sure you can tell /co/ and /w/ apart in terms of boad interest, but what about /c/ and /u/ ? /n/ and /int/ ? /fit/ and /g/ ?

Seems a bit contradictory to me.

>Why couldn't I do just that?
Because Lear actually checks whether you have board support now.

>I don't need fans to compete afterall, at least according to you
I didn't really touch on the fans issue, but to be honest, the support checks should be extended to current boards. We had a few proposals for that a while ago and I remember Lear exchanging some arguments here on that. I suggested he force managers to provide a set number of threads per or something like that, but he said that it's too unreliable given how many boards delete threads on sight. Now I don't know how checking for support in teamless boards is easier then, but that's his problems.
Anyways, that doesn't change the fact that all current teams should be on the same level unless they don't have a manager or can't get an export.

By the way, bent's proposal for Babby Cups had a system where teams that aren't worth it could be voted off, but no-one here seemed to like it and almost everyone wanted to stay with the current system. Maybe you should have pushed for that back then.

That would be a logical solution to the problem, so there is no way this is happening. One of the biggest issues is that deleting teams or sitting them out for a season would mean having to deal with some upset tripfags bothering /merit/ all the time asking why did they have their personal playtoy taken away, while leaving things as they are means that all /merit/ has to do is ignore posts in /4ccg/, which is what they've been doing for over a year. Let's be honest, there is a decent number of teams that could be removed from the Cup and literally no one besides their managers would have a problem with that. People need to find a way to make the teams go back to being /board/ instead of /manager/

Memes aside, we could always go with someone's solution (can't remember who) of the 'council' questionnaire, where generally teams that had more culture and fans and with managers that put in more effort would get priority entry into the babby over other less well known/memeable teams.

I know lear said he wanted to leave less down to the discretion of the /4ccc/, and sure it's open to corruption (which team would get us the most viewers) and that can be fixed slightly if this is done transparently, but fuck, the cup is about memes, and teams like /t/ and /diy/ have basically none whilst /co/ and /v/ get pes'd two matches in a row and then you don't see them for 6 months.
