You're going to want to have two or so soldiers go on every mission till you get the ranks to unlock a full sized squad.

If you can get your backup soldiers to sergeant rank casually that's best. "Best" is strong language for /xcg/ let's go with "good".

One other thing to do is to sort all your guys by class and see what you're thin on.

The current trend is to run more grenadiers than anything else 2-3. You have 3. You almost have 4 specialists. 3 rangers, 3 sharpshooters.

I hate to be that guy but maybe train another Grenadier.

The Sniper freed the VIP but got knocked out in the street making a run for extraction in the middle of reinforcement
The Ranger sliced from ADVENT in half then got knocked out in blue move distance from the evac

Basing it on Skyrim:

You'll see alot of alien/tech/armor variants this year. Even modeled stuff. You might even see Long War: XCOM 2 Edition by then. LW afterall is just a lengthened, difficulty up form of the base game.

It took the Skyrim guys years to start releasing really good quest mods. We might see full new variants of the game. The one I can think of takes away the Avenger and leaves you building bases around the world, sending out science and engineer groups to investigate points of interest and you managing multiple soldier rosters and Skyrangers to protect those science/engineer expeditions, protect the human population in resistance territories, and pushing terrorist/anti-Avatar Project missions elsewhere around the world.

Or maybe just sex mods and boob physics.

Both likely, especially the sex part. I predict one of the first major mods is probably going to have to do with recruiting ayys as part of your roster. Not just cloning them to be available, but as full fledged customizable units, compatible with the weapons and upgrading along with your armor tiers. Optimally I'd want some sort of weird morale system attached to it too, like if you find yourself sympathizing with the alien rebels too much, some of your human supporters get pissed off and might even stage attacks on you.

Is there a way to show which specific mod updated? I can tell when one has because Steam downloads something form the Workshop, but I can't seem to find out what.
