I have it unlocked, and it doesn't outweigh anything. 4 second reload has very little difference from 7 second reload. It's an absolutely meaningless balance change that fixes/changes absolutely nothing.

A 4 second reload entails the same sort of playstyle that a 7 second reload does. It's not until you get less than 3s reload speed (preferably ~2 or less, or just none like the beetlejews) before reload speed is something that actually matters in combat. Anything 3s and up necessitates swapping to a sidearm or taking cover to reload - and then the reload speed doesn't matter.

AFAIK the godsaw does actually have slightly better recoil characteristics than the regular gauss saw with comp+foregrip, but it's so negligible it may as well not exist, and the 670m/s velocity got nerfed to 630m/s with the latest "buff" to it. (funny, the VS are supposed to be low velocity, no drop, but all their LMG's have comparable or better velocity than the NC and TR and STILL have no drop.)

And the smaller magazine capacity actually hurts the godsaw. I would hands down take almost double the magazine size for a 7 second reload again - as I said the 4s reload just isn't low enough to matter, so really you keep the drawback of a long reload WITH the drawback of a small magazine.

At least the Gauss Saw lets you kill 4 people in a row reliably without reloading.

The other big issue is the gauss, both versions, just don't have enough dps to compete with any other lmg's within 50m, and outside 50m you have to stand still to get accurate fire, which makes you sniper bait and forces you to flip on your shield to stop the inevitable instakill headshot attempt coming your way.

You have to string headshots together to manage that. If you don't have 35%+ hsr; don't bother with godsaw cqb. Go look at godsaw performance amongst lower BR's (and that's still partly inflated from vets starting new accounts)

I wouldn't mind this state of affairs if fighting at range was legitimately possible, but the overabundance of insta-kill snipers and the need to crouch/stand still negates the godsaw's biggest advantage.

Personally, I'd give the godsaw 670m/s velocity, lower the movement penalty by 0.01 or whatever, and either give it the same magazine size/reload speed as the gauss saw OR reduce the reload speed AT LEAST another second, if not 1.5 - 2 seconds.

Not saying the godsaw's shit, it's one of the best guns NC has, but it struggles to compete with the best VS/TR for the reasons above. Especially VS guns, but they get everything on a silver platter anyways, so what sense is a comparison?

ESF's should be focused on air-to-air fighting. They should never have been given anti-ground anything - there's already a fucking bomber in the game for that stuff.

Hell, even the lib is bullshit with the dedicated air-to-ground dalton anti-tank cannon being the second best weapon in the game for killing aircraft.

Both the lib and the esf's are too good at everything. They should be specialized into their roles properly. ESF's for killing air, libs for killing ground.

When did people get so rational? I've been making that point for years and always met contrarianism.
ESF in particular is able to dish out way too much damage for its size and nanite cost. It can cover distance rapidly, dodge and deliver double 2000 damage missiles. Nothing in the game comes even close to that.
When there is no friendly vanguard to remove this menace from the sky, your tank/harasser/whatever is toast. There is no counter unless you find a helpful rock to get an angle on him and your lucky shots connect several times while he continues to attack the stationary target.

VS spam magriders like crazy because magriders are impossible to actually kill - you can't hit them without lockons and that just leaves you a sitting duck. The other two tanks are giant immobile bricks by comparison and the slow moving rockets actually have a chance of hitting at 20-50m.

But magriders? Fat chance. they'll just strafe away from every rocket. You HAVE to use air/mbt's/cr fairies to kill them. Your regular infantry is absolutely powerless.

You can look at the death boards of pretty much any player, and unless they got farmed by a guy with a burst gun, you'll see something similar. Go ahead, look up random players and see how much time it takes you to find one with 10+/100 deaths to burst guns (and they all have to be to different users).
