/aceg/ is as dead as the servers, the last game I finished we started off with 6 players, by the end the only one left were myself and the host, it's like they were hit hit by excalibur one by one.

after that game I couldn't even finish a game, got disconnected 8 times in a row, I still have 2 supplied fuel left but I'm not going through that shit again today

probably won't even get a plane out of this tourney since I can barely play

Top 300 is Mobius 1, of course.
From 300 to 2000, you get Mobius 2, and every 1000 spots you get Mobius 3, 4, 5 and so on to top 8000.
It works same as last year. People have to burn 60 fuel a day to stay on the top, made worse because this time it's 2 weeks of forced sorties rather than just one.

Aces, Brothers, Friends - I find myself facing inner turmoil. Do I keep my level 3 MiG-35D, or do I swap my fighter slot over to my ADF-01 -OS-? The 35D feels a bit off to me, same with the 6AA, but on the other hand on the ADF-01 I am relatively terrible and level 1, and needing 4M credits to up the level of the craft, the beautiful plane hits very hard with standard missiles. Not so sure if I could use the TLS well enough, though.

I almost just want to go back to my Fulcrum Dragon.

Any thoughts/opinions on ECM planes? I had a possibly stupid idea to level the Growler up, up Defense and make the standard missiles pretty powerful, leaving a slot or two for ECM based parts. Is this good? Is this bad? Did I just waste a bunch of my credits like usual?

I honestly can't imagine it without inserting some kind of edgelord cutscene with torture or somebody getting shot up unusually violently outside of regular gameplay. Vehicle combat just isn't gruesome without showing the crew and that's not something that makes a lot of sense in a jet fighter game because it's almost always just you and an RIO or WSO I'd often unseen behind you.

It makes more sense in a tank game though, where a simulated crew that can get fucked up by a shot penetrating the crew compartment would be PTSD tier.

I've wondered this too. If nothing else, one of the strengths of Strangereal is that you can shoot down more planes of a type than were ever built because it's an alternate universe that builds a shitload more planes than we do.

That was actually one of my biggest, and most nitpicky, problems with HAWX and Assault Horizon. As soon as you set these kind of games in the real world everything becomes really silly with "private armies" fielding ridiculous planes in ridiculous numbers, typically more than were ever even built. For whatever reason THAT'S what really pushes my suspension of disbelief.

I don't think you're remembering correctly, this isn't shown anywhere in Hawx. The only times Artemis' strength is shown is when they go toe to toe with a USN carrier battle group with about 15 destroyers, during the invasion of Washington with about 200 fighters and numerous cargo planes and tanks and during their final last stand, where they have hundreds of ground units but less than a hundred fighters.

For a massive multinational corporation that they are, that isn't unreasonable at all. They're never shown to have thousands and thousands of fighters.

a) Belka's bombing itself was so horrific it made everyone swear off nuclear weapons forever, and the lack of nuclear threats between the world powers necessites airpower for force projection.
b)The Ulysses Impact funneled tons of money into military R&D for asteroid defense purposes, as well as the resulting refugee crises leading to conflict which further lead to armed confkict.

Joint Assault, the bad guy's Golden Axe plan, which involved manipulating the world markets, allowed a lot of money to flow to mercenary forces.

Infinity, if you pay attention, when you upgrade and unlock planes, it says you're submitting orders to the "Advanced Automated Aviation Plant". The in-game company, Werner-North, has managed to make the production of fighter aircraft so cheap that it is plausible for there to be air battles with hundreds of air craft happening every day.

Assault Horrizon is the hard one to explain away. That world is supposed be 100% identical, aside from the events of the plot itself with Markov attacking the West with the Trinity weapons. Even as ex-military, it doesn't make sense for him to get his hands on that many war planes.

Infinity just isn't enough to draw discussion anymore now that we have all the resources in the OP telling people how to best build their planes.

The only thing we could possibly do to stay afloat was develop a culture. But the generals that did so are, well, trash because of it. It's a deal with the devil.
We also don't have the choice to sleep like Razgriz, because dead generals rarely return to life.
Our one remainder of hope is to somehow get more pages on this shit so we don't have to worry about death all the time, and just continue as we were.
