I can't comment on the A-43 but the 34-85 is really solid and has an above average top gun for its tier. You can also hop into the IS line which is what I plan to do.

Depends which line did you choose. They're best used as support at least until tier 8-9. Pretty accurate guns with decent DPM, not that great armor (again, that changes when tier 9 comes). Against people who don't know to shoot angled plates Tiger (P) is pretty sturdy, but that's about it, I think. E75 and VK B are full frontline tanks, though, with great overall armor and pretty good guns, too.

No, the M6 is statistically superior the the KV-85. M6 is more mobile, has better gun handling and massively better depression, and the front armour isn't much worse (ie they're both shit). KV-85 has some side armour and better DPM.

Granted the OI obsoleted every other tier 6 heavy now, but I still don't understand why people clung to the KV-85 for months after the split happened. The gun depression is just too limiting unless you know the map in advance, and even then the old model ARL44 with 105 was better in tournaments.

Trying to grind the Sturer Emil is suffering. It's only redeeming quality is its gun depression, but that's pretty useless when it takes half the game to get up a suitable hill and still exposes paper-thin armour when hull downing.

Considering a light is probably moving very fast when trying to shoot it, should I ever bother switching to HE on a non derp gun? Sometimes it pays off but it feels very unreliable.

Low caliber HE is generally worthless. I usually only fire HE if:
-You have a very high damage gun and the target has <50 HP
-You need to one-shot an arty or Hellcat or such and only an HE pen is going to make than happen.

Otherwise I only use HE to blow up cover faster.

Could be a sign of a dying game, they're focusing on end game because their model is to milk more money off of the established fanbase instead of trying to get more people to play. And the Jap heavies are a way to prevent that established fanbase from "abusing" mid tiers to earn credits, forcing them to spend more gold.

If you want to get them back to 100 and are going to spend gold, get a premium of the same class instead and throw them in that

It could easily be 8loss/4win/2loss/1win/3loss/4win/1loss/2win/1loss/5win/5loss/4win. This is a perfectly legitimate spread, 20 wins and 20 losses throughout unless I fucked up somewhere. Frankly better than CW. While this big one is an expection, even the weekly Skirmishes can pay out a few thousand even if you don't win. Hell you can just barely make the top 50%, lose the first round of playoffs and still everyone on the team gets 1k.
