I believe that "common" gems, like amethyst, topaz and rest spawn equally everywhere, even on first ten levels. I don't know how far are you in game, but grab your best gear, start on level 1 and storm down as fast as you can while focusing only on breaking gem ores and finding staircases. Simply look through as many levels as you can in one day.

There are no upgrade for the slime hutch.

Not it's not better but I'd also add that it is pointless to make more kegs than you can fit into the level 1 barn. I fit 70 kegs in mine and it's more than enough to trivialize the game eight times over.

It's true though, if you go dungeon diving and observe slime mating habits it's always the slime with the spicule that initiates mating and always the slime with no spicule that gives birth.
On another note, the anterior segment knob of the copulating spicule actually has bearing on the offspring of the slimes. If the anterior knob segment of the slime's spicule is a star then they'll produce more and much resilient baby slimes compared to that of the relatively undefined spheroid counterparts.

Just use the normal fertilizer. You'll still get like 25% of your shit gold. I used normal fertilizer on a field of cranberries and after harvesting the whole thing I ended up with 600 something normal ones, and 300 silver and golds each. In fact I ended up with more golds than silvers. By the time you would get a profit off of the super fertilizer you can just straight up buy it from Pierre.

I built the silo first and it does not matter where it is, I put it in the far corner. I built it early so I could build up hay while I built the barn and coop. Bear in mind that it can hold up to 240 hay. build more if you need more space. Also the final upgrades for the coops and barns feature an auto-feed function that pulls hay from the silos as needed.

Most of the foraging perks are useless in the grand scheme of things.

The perk that makes forage items always gold star is the best perk simply because it make efficient use of your inventory space if you happen to pick up that stuff.

In reality, watering is the easiest part of gardening or farming. It's tilling, planting, weeding, pruning, and harvesting that takes a lot of effort irl. Those things are all one button press in the game, so all the tedium gets loaded into the watering mechanic.

That's why sprinklers are in the game. They're a gate for the player to automate watering and spend their time exploring other aspects of the game and expanding their farm.

Personally I felt like quality sprinklers were too easy to get and far too good for their cost.

The problem is there's no real end to the game so you kinda just keep going until you stop. Dunno about recently, but the earlier Harvest Moons had a clear end state with you being graded at the end so you had to fit as much as you could do within the time of the game. With Stardew you can literally do just about everything in the first year. The glory of some of the earlier Harvest Moons were the festivals and holidays that took place early on in the first spring/summer that required shit from later on to really participate in. So you got a little taste of what's to come and some motivation to do better for the next year.

Apparently CA still has some shit he didn't get the chance to finish before so we'll see how it turns out, but the base game, while amazing, still lacks that motivation to do anything past getting your first million.

If it's for structures, grind like 40-79 for coal spirits or just buy it from clint since it pays for itself and some in a season. Same with fish traps. f you need a quick pickmeup, a charcoal kiln will let you make that scarecrow. I found out about the game by googling "HM on PC" after finishing HMDS. Chucklefish didn't market whatsoever as far as I know; I'd been posting SDV on /v/ for six months before release and it was largely ignored, and I only saw one thread in those six months that wasn't mine.
I think he got scammed based on a fear of failure and is silently kicking himself knowing that a large chunk of his profits went to a bunch of useless fucks that did nothing. And he'd almost certainly be legally unable to say shit about it.
