Actually the VN placed relatively mediocre. It's not in the quarters/semi/finals, because he made a remark at one point that his project was out already.

Some other hints:
- it's not Sakura no Uta ("No but I'd like to work on it in the future" when asked if it was his project)
- it's not Dies Irae/Light game
- it's not ChuSinGara
- the game is long and rated above 85 on EGS

And some other little things you can find on reddit/his twitter/askfm.

My guess it's very likely something in the losers bracket, maybe someone else can narrow it down.
