One of my fondest/worst memories of early was playing Q2 on said friend's cable connection and running circles around people with the grenade launcher. It was really bad to be on cable back then, in terms of fair play. Bullets actually landed where you aimed instead of the usual "aim 10 feet in front of him if he's moving fast", and people seemed to have significantly more trouble hitting you for whatever network reason.

Wind is strong for all of the game's content pre-100 content, but when you hit rank 101 then you will have trouble bringing wind into certain HL maps. If you actually play for that long (this will probably be 2-3 months minimum, or way more if you don't super grind / coop grind it), then perhaps you can consider ticketing the light characters you want.

Light is both a good and bad choice for a new player. The characters are strong, and there's no weakness, but you will have to deal with 1/3rd the drop rate of every main element in order to progress.

Indecision is a powerful force in preventing me from ticketing anything.

If I had Lennah, I'd never have to gacha another wind character again. With that and Nio I'd have a complete team. And I like Mamiko Noto, but on the other hand I don't particularly care much for Lennah enough to spend money on her. It would be mostly a "gameplay" purchase.

Instead, I could ticket Ferri, who I wanted to get since she came out (since her story chapter really.) But I would have no one to go along with her. It would be purely a "character" purchase, although I do like a lot of other characters in Light if the gacha ever gave me any.

So even if I wanted to buy something I can't choose what I should do. Same issue with upgrading my wind pool with magna shop vs. buying light weapons, which I'm holding off on until this ticket passes.

So I'm about to spend my 3 ZP that I have been hoarding on my Dark Fencer and am about to spend them on all on Attack Up. Do all 3 upgrades cost 20 green jewels each or do they go up with each upgrade? I don't think any of the guides say anything about it

She was never outright baggage if you only had 2 dark SSRs. The only time she became a liability is if you had access to better options.

Beatrix can fill the tank niche in dark now, which was something dark had no SSR capable of doing that before, but she can also deal a potentially large amount of damage. She's flexible, but she's not an outstanding DPS like Naru so she gets left in the dust and memed on.

She is, currently, a character that you can decide what you need her to do most, whether that be tank or DPS. Pray for a little RNG luck for TAs and enjoy one of the cutest waifus in the game.

Vira/Grey/Vampy are the cookie cutter HL team, and what I still run in that format. Beatrix is just fine to run in solo situations or situations where a non-AoE ougi is wrecking your shit, but she doesn't replace any of the cookie cutter builds. She's just fine for a beginner dark team though, she can pull her own weight now, and can fill a niche no other dark SSR can.

This is important, okay? The game is going to change. Your decisions can't turn on a dime. You have to commit to things, and if you overcommit based on the current state of the game, you'll be in a bad spot.

The things that are in the game right now are not all there will ever be. What you can do instead is try to determine where the game is heading, and build based on that idea.

Of course, that's difficult to do when you are new. Which is why I would personally recommend picking a balanced core which can be adapted in the future.

The reason the whole wind thing is going on is because people picked a really extreme glass team that worked for current content, but the lategame stuff (and other things they've added to bridge the game into the lategame) are punishing to that kind of extreme playstyle. It's unlikely that it will stop there, either.

The same could happen to whatever build you make. So my opinion, don't treat advice like an instruction booklet, at least not too seriously. Try to figure out how things work, first.

But yeah the typical wind strategy involves hitting something until it dies. Damage caps and the sheer amount of HP HL bosses have make that strategy less viable, so it becomes more important to have teams that can survive a while and effectively deal with enemy ougis/charge attacks. Wind does not deal too well with this.

Vira has her shroud that gives her 1 turn of guaranteed TA which you can use turn one, and that makes her a really good ougi starter for your first ougi. Her 9 fucking turn CD if you don't want to waste a sub slot for Kat though, makes her fall off in that regard every turn after that.

Beatrix takes 2 turns to set up her TA, but one you get her TAs rolling she completely outpaces Vira in terms of ougi generation AND if you ougi at 12 then she ougis harder than every other human character by a long shot.

Basically, Vira is better for MVP racing, but Beatrix is the best human DPS in the long run.

Comparing Vira and Beatrix in terms of DPS is like comparing a Ret Paladin and a Rogue, respectively, in WoW. The Ret Pala has much bigger burst phases every few minutes in the fight but the Rogue has much more stable DPS over the course of the fight.

Leaving out seasonals, the only ones that couldn't would be like Sarunan and Cerberus. Saru because he's SR tier and cerberus because cygames forgot she exists.

Grey brings 30% def down and slow

Vaz is a pretty simple character to manage and shits out damage in a doraf team.

Vira can cover the attacker role and bring other really useful utilities like Veil or a mini mist.

Vampy brings a ton of utilities to the table that make your life easier.

Naru will carry your team on her back and give you big numbers with OD assassin.

Meanwhile at Beatrix, it feels like she brings nothing of worth to the table. Everything she does is done better by other characters on dark. Like if you need a tank then you can just grab Zaza and if you need damage then you can grab someone like Vaz, Vira or Naru that will deliver better and more consistent results in their respective teams.

Anyone that says Vira shits on Beatrix for DPS is right if we're talking the usual content like magnas and event bosses that die in less time than you have to ougi twice anyway, but any long fights or solo fights Beato definitely outpaces Vira in that regard. Vira's biggest advantage is Veil and 1500 self heal every 9 turns (8 if you have cat in Subs) but Beato will heal for 1500 naturally every 3 turns and if she TA's 4 then she's autohealing 500 every turn, plus being an effective tank.

They both have their advantage, they both fill different but similar roles. Beatrix would have been considered a godsend had she been, say, Fire. It's really unfortunate though that she has to be compared to Naru and the other dark characters that are all ridiculously powerful/versatile in their own rights.

How would beatrix outpace Vira?

Vira requires way less setup and brainpower than beatrix and does the damage job better than anyone else in the human department for dark. She brings a heal, a veil with guaranteed triples as a side effect and a mini mist.

Meanwhile Beatrix just has her clocks and a bunch of selfish buffs that bring nothing to a dark team except for unreliable damage.

In a short fight you would take your human team with Vira because its going to die fast and in a long fight you would also take your human team with Vira because she covers the damage role and has stuff to make the battle and life easier for you.

You could even ditch the human idea and go for a doraf team for solo content and abuse Naru's OD assassin to break the boss as soon as he gets to the OD phase with a fully buffed ougi if you landed your debuffs and are strong enough to pull it off so I don't see a situation where you would take beatrix over any of the dark characters.

I've seen a lot of questions about wind so I'm going to give my personal opinion on the matter. When you're starting out, assuming you don't care about waifus, wind is the most optimal element to go with. The early game is a breeze because of Amat and wind carbuncle. Additionally wind has arguably the easiest magna and Tiamat has 2 good weapon drops compared to the rest of the elements who only get 1.

Stop that. Yes it is true that wind struggles with HL but even getting there takes months and wind helps you reach the late game better than any other element. Once you have a good wind pool it will make farming your earth pool easier. Then you use your earth pool to help farm your water pool and so on. Then you can use wind to farm for your light pool if you ever even get that far. And even wind has some use in HLs which is worth mentioning.

Just go for either. The fastest you can reasonably expect your first GW character is 3-4 months, and that's with autistic farming. GW weapons all come in light, so you won't get much mileage out of them until you element swap - which would set back your first GW char a good month or two.

You're only allowed to pick one weapon type for your box, and it's highly unlikely you'll get enough drops just off flips and red host chests to get the second.

Don't invest too heavily into a GW if it's your first. The rewards outside of the weapon are fairly bad if you aren't competing in the main event, with the exception of GWs that have unknowns (i.e. Slayers). Since it's your first, I highly doubt your guild is going to be competing unless it involves you getting carried.

The weapon itself is one of the easier parts of the GW grind. You can still work towards him by farming all the other mats you need so that when you do get the weapon you can do all the upgrades back to back.

I didn't even use my GW weapon until I had all the mats and jumped straight from base weapon to character.
