What's the longest you guys have ever had to farm to get that one talisman you really needed/wanted?

I'm in day three of my farming streak in 4U trying to get a decent attack talisman; not Attack +14 three slot, but fucking anything I would consider decent. I've used all my Vile Frenzy Crystals doing Juju Melding and have done nothing but Felyne Explorer + Mountain Rescue subquest. I have mined so many talismans it's not funny, but my best still manages to be a fucking Psychic +7/Attack +7/- - - Rook talisman.

I'm salty as fuck. Feel free to vent your own frustrations/laugh at my failure.

I dunno, carting in mainline online feels like "aww" but here i feel like shit, like the people i was playing with expected more from me, especially since the majority is sitting at the end of G-rank.

What's the setup to kill Kush very quickly in MH4U again?

You need to make a set with dragon+3 with bonus shot and some more attack skills with Eldaora's Hornet (because IIRC elemental shots aren't affected by negative affinity?

And also compared to other elemental shots, Dragon S act like piercing shots, right?

You'll likely end up with Evasion on there because it comes with the Stygian gear.

Dragon S acts like piercings insofar as they hit multiple times, but after they first make contact they slow down massively and are affected by gravity. If you shoot them into Kush's face, all 5(6?) hits should hit the face.

Elemental shots are not effected by affinity. The reason why Eldaora's is used is because the next best Dragon S gun in the Deviljho LBG, which despite not needing Load Up has sufficiently low raw that it's outclassed.

I don't get it, it's standing, paralyzed and whenever I hit that part with the 3 scales (Chest 68 raw weakness) I sometimes get a bounce (Often when it's half or more- dead)
I checked and the only hitzones close to that can't bounce since they're all alternative weakspots (Neck, Legs,Tail) and since the reach is so short I doubt I'm hitting the back...

It's kind of complicated, but I have a theory - I genuinely believe the same thing with a Blos body/chest happens with Kushy's face neck/face hitboxes

It feels like the back or body hitbox actually occupies the entire model, then the chest hitbox is a flat sheet laid on the front of the body. If you get the wrong angle, your hit will register as the back, but if you're using an attack that comes up from underneath it'll smack the flat face of the chest hitbox.

Am I crazy or do you guys think this is possible? Kushy faces are similarly finicky, I swear the KO-able zone is like a mask laid on the front of the neck hitbox.

Well you ain't going to be killing the monster all that much quicker with that extra boost in attack and playing solo means you're going to have to sharpen eventually, I'd say it's safer to get rid of slow sharpening for now. If you're playing online with other people though it's very easy to justify leaving slow sharpening in since you'll have more safe opportunities to sharpen.

I made the entire Akantor X set, so that was 5 different very rare materials, it looks awesome, has ok skills and I don't use it in a single equipment slot.

I have the entire gogma armor, just because I love how it looks, and at least 6 of his weapons. But only really use it once in a while.

I made the whole najarala armor and almost all his weapons, but never use it because it's terrible stats-wise.

Same thing for Zamtrios gear.

MH3U for a bit more of a challenge and familiarity to the controls your used to.
MH4U for a change of pace and some interesting new ways to fight your monsters.

Both have some faults that usually turn people off of both though.
MH3U has underwater battles that can be cumbersome at first.
MH4U has a G-Rank that feels "off" and the endgame can become tedious to some even by regular monster hunter standards.

Both are great choices though.
