Actually that's a decent idea - you eat the Overseas Territories, socialist government lets you accept Black Anglos and then afterwards Black Anglo African countries can also start the move towards Commonwealth integration (possibly with a lot of anger back home/only if they're sphered or puppets).

I wanted to thank everyone in this community for being so open and kind - it's not an uncommon sight to see a post in this general with same-sex couples, and no one really seems to care. As a member of the LGBTQ community, person in an interracial relationship, and gamer, it's really awesome to see.

Also a huge shout out to Paradox for creating a game that respects diversity, and allows players to be who they are. I remember never being able to marry who I wanted in CK1, and that really bummed me out.

I think we also take for granted the small things in the game, like the interracial relationship between Ivar-Snake-In-The-Eye and Al-Mansur, the humanity that is afforded to the Mongols (which a lot of white people don't get), and being able to customize your gender with things typically associated with the opposite sex (my man is wearing ear rings, haha). This game subtly and strongly deconstructs a lot of social norms that many games simply uphold without a second thought.

I think all of this really lines up with the patient, community-focused messaging of the game and I love it. Thanks to all <3

First off, if you're subsidising that factory stop doing that right now, contrary to popular believe factories will not perpetually hire people, they will only hire people who make their profit peak, so all the craftsmen producing the 6.78 unsold liqour will be fired. Unless you want to industrialise for the sake of industrialising/score in which caepse keep subsidising it.

As for why you're importing liqour I honestly have no idea, that shouldn't be happening whilst you're still dumping liqour in the ocean.

Yes, if you can fix the problem shortly through railroads/better techs, otherwise it's just a vicious circle where more and more craftsmen get employed due to subsidies until your economy implodes

You're not actually giving them subsidies, you're just saying "when this goes to shit we'll supply you" so the factory hires as many people as possible, where as without subsides they'll only hire the amount of people to meet international demand.
So, in short, it is worth it, as it's costing you no money and you get more industry points.

Coal is great, get some glass factories, build them in areas you have coal.

Coal is also pretty damn valuable to export as well, whilst it won't be worth anything whilst you're in a sphere (Spherelings can not tariff their master, so any coal Russia buys from you will be dirt cheap) some techs from the Metallurgy tab, partidularly clean coal and clean iron will really help you mine more coal.

After installing HPM, game no longer launches in windowed mode. Checked my settings.txt again just to make sure. I think I goofed with installation.

/gsg/ I've been reading about economy/industrialization in Vic2 and most of the guides I've come across are clearly written for people with more understanding. Is there a discussing of these issues geared for knuckle-dragging mouth-breathers that are used to playing hex-and-counter wargames?

Economy: put your education slider at maximum, army and navy sliders at 20% and admin slider at whatever you can afford. Tax your people enough to not lose money, if that's not enough use tariffs.

Industrialization: Build railroads and liquor factories. Liquor is always profitable so it's a great way to jumpstart your industry. Later you should experiment with different goods and chains of factories as they give you higher throughput.

Weird game so far. NGF got destroyed early on and lost Silesia, Lubeck and Holstein but somehow held onto Neuchatel, which you can see in the screenshot. Austria grabbed silesia but lost it to NGF patriots. They then got bashed so hard they turned into a democracy.

Well it irks me that there's no decent 40k grand strategy game. The campaign modes in Dark Crusade and Soulstorm are a fucking joke.
