I don't know about 4 but when I started farming 6 I had True profane, infernal accessories, and like 1300 crit, and damage has never been an issue.

If you're making a speedy farm party sure, set it the barrier of entry as high as you want, but trying to claim its needed as a baseline to do it at all is just silly.

I know the pvp bean is somewhat of a "If you got the beans, just get it", but will I -ever- use it in a pvp spec? BM seem to have a hard time with skillpoints as it is.

Also.. could someone share a "base" pvp spec? I know I'm supposed to swap points around for matchups, but what are the absolute must haves?

I've found that it can be really useful against kfm and sins. Use it after you've blown your tab and its a get out of combo free card. Or use it to extend your burst even further.
It also follows nicely with rush.

Rush specced so it stuns. Tab specced so it dazes. Use shoulder bash to chase FM. Use it as a def break against BM and kfm. Maybe even sin.
Your tab spin should be specced to daze. Lightning retribution specced to daze. Flicker specced to stun. Ankle biter to reduce movement speed as well knock down. Soaring falcon on pull. Flock of blades so it does big damage. Five point strike to daze(i prefer not knocking them into the air).
Boot needs to break def and knockdown.
Spec point into SS.
Sometimes I give cyclone 3 points so it resists attacks. Useful against spin 2 win classes.


I've gotten to 1800 with this build.
Spend the first few mins using boot and shoulder bash to bait our the tab. Start air combo. Flock of blades. Chase when they land. Quite easily takes em down to 70%. Use lightning draw and rmb to finish them off.


On a side note. Any BMS have luck using sundering spear/singing lark in pvp? Or am I just trying to be too flashy?

I've come across a mean bot. One actually 100-0'ed me in split seconds. Mostly because I wanted to try something out on the bot. But all you really need to do is fly around the area for 10 seconds. They'll be out of loop most of the time.

As a BM. It's not so bad. They'll sit in flock like a tool.
In fact, I open with flock against every des just to test out whether it's a bot or not. I once reported a really bad player lol

Thanks for the great answer! I'll definately take this into account when I hop into the arena today, and I'll pick the bean skill up after all. It's only like.. 14g or so of soulstones anyway.

I just have to spend a while to practice the flock of blades air combo, everyone seems to easily just F out of it. Maybe I'm too slow on the followup to keep them in the aoe field for longer.

The destroyer bots vary a lot too. I think, I've faced two kinds of destroyer bots.

1. The shitter bots. They grab you and just stand still spinning around slowly. Then they drop you and ani-cancel like a bronze player would. Trash, no threat.
2. The cheater bots. Their V and Q have practically no cooldown. They actually hit you in their grabs and ani-cancel a little better. Still no threat.

I reckon you guys on NA have some bots that actually ani-cancel like a bot, resulting in massive damage.

The one KFM bot I faced was a lot scarier and I actually almost lost (2-1) because I had no idea what the fuck was happening at first. The ani-cancel on that guy was amazing.

How does that work? I can't see them randomly tabbing a non-threatening CC a few minutes in if you've been playing really defensively so far.

I find most people tab after you either:
1. SS -> five point -> tech chase the roll with 2/C and lightning draw
or
2. 3/X -> tech chase the roll with 2/C and lightning draw

After that you wait for your 2 to be back up again and go for a V combo. That said I'm no higher than you because I keep facing goddamnmotherfucking summoners every other game and I just can't deal with it.

There's a diff way of doing it. If you mean roll out of it. Only lock can do that from the ground. The rest of the classes will roll to the edge but still take damage. When doing the air combo. Strafe in between each hit. As they hit the ground. Let em roll away but as they get to their feet use rush (I think its 2) then. Knock em down anklebiter. Daze with spinny tab move. Lightning draw. Use lightning retribution. Flicker to stun. Rmb mash. Follow by q and into five point strike. Might be able to take em to the air again after all that.

There's a really good video somewhere on tube that completely changed my gameplay.

I've started working on being able to keep em stunlocked on the ground long enough for flock to work. It's hard to pull off. But when it works it fucking works.

If I kill cat quickly, which is down to chance I can get em. Other than that. I'm free points for those guys. When I said mins I meant secs. They won't tab out of those skills if they are good. So it's a good test of player ability. Testing the waters so to speak.

What made me a better player was not relying on air combos to do damage. But actually forcing myself to beat opponents without it.

I love air combos where I'm at in terms of rating because players ALWAYS roll out of them, opening them up to tech chases for nice damage.

I've been using flock rather than blade call versus summoners for a while now because it's kinda reliable wins if they're crap and fall to the continuous pressure and/or fail to heal properly because of it. I really am starting to think that the only way to actually win if they're not terrible is to kill them with blade call, though, which is a lot easier said than done.

There's two ways BMs can do real damage: the blue field of death combo, and a draw combo where they blow all their CCs in a row

The blue field will, like you know, fuck your shit up if you can't get out of it so just tab if you got nothing else.

Another thing you might want to consider tabbing is the draw combo. You know what the lightning draw looks, right? They draw their sword out of their sheath with a lightning effect and you suddenly notice your HP going down the drain.

Their draw stance has two attacks. One short one called "flicker", which is pretty descriptive because it looks like it, and the honed slash that does the actual damage (long, drawn-out slash of almost 360 degrees). Tab after they flicker you between the slashes.

The combo goes something like this:
Stun/Daze that you can't roll out of (usually their 2 that charges you or the shoulder bash, C) -> lightning draw -> slash -> flicker -> slash, slash -> 2 (prolongs existing CC by 2 sec) -> E to exit draw if they run out of focus -> tab to daze you -> whatever the fuck they want. They can follow that up with either knocking you down or gathering focus and SSing back into draw to knock you into the air with fivepoint etc.

If you don't tab that and they're good, they can keep you CC'd for a LONG time. The flicker stun is on a 45 sec CD, as is their tab spin daze, so your tab will be back up before those will be.

If you tab when they flicker stun you that will be down for 45 seconds and you will escape most of the honed slashes. I guess that's the best time to escape that combo.

Everyone except maybe summoners and to some extent BDs need to practice their combos. Thing about BDs is that at low ranks you can just win by doing air combos because people don't even know how your resists work so they will waste their CCs and die.
